First match of the night, it’s XinLin fighting against a rookie YuQing! Can she break her losing streak tonight?

XinLin comes into the ring in white sports bra and blue shorts, complete with red boxing gloves. Her hair tied up in a high ponytail. Across the ring, YuQing wears black sports bra, shorts and gloves with her hair loose.

Round 1:

XinLin steps on the pedal and surprises Yuqing with some quick action, bullying her into the corner where she can speedbag her. Zhao slips out of the corner and quickly distances herself from her opponent and spends the remainder of the round exchanging jabs with her opponent. However, XinLin is able to thwart her attacks with her longer reach, frustrating Yuqing.

Round 2:

Noting the tendency for Xinlin to throw straight punches, Yuqing adjusts her strategy this round. As before, Xinlin tunes up her aggression and Yuqing continues to evade.When the time is right, Yuqing lunges forward and catches Xinlin on the nose with a straight right, sending her backpedaling. Xinlin tries to fight back but Yuqing sends her back with a series of quick punches. Yuqing rocks Xinlin with an uppercut that slips under her arms, staggering her into the ropes before the round ends.

Round 3:

Both fighters make their dislike for each other known as they rush to the center to exchange punches. Fighting equally, their bruises begin to show and neither seem to be getting the advantage. Up until Zhao sidesteps a straight from Xinlin and sinks a hook into her liver, sending her body bending sidewards. Luckily for Xinlin, the round ends before Yuqing can dish out any more punishment.

Round 4:

Xinlin comes out of her corner with renewed aggression, laying lefts and rights on Yuqing but her opponent doesn’t seem to be backing down, choosing to fight back. Yuqing avoids a right hook and hits back with a straight, staggering XinLin for a bit. But XinLin quickly collects herself and hits back with a one-two combo followed by an uppercut to the belly, putting Yuqing on retreat. The round ends with both girls heaving hard.

Round 5:

Yuqing returns to her outboxing strategy, trying to take back the round by points. However, the extra reach that Xinlin has means she has to be extra careful with her approach. While Xinlin is able to neutralize her attack for the first half of the round, she finds it hard to keep up with the level of fatigue she is in. Yuqing manages to distract her with constant left and right movements and attack from an angle, putting Xinlin on defense through the remainder of the round.

Round 6:

Xinlin charges in with renewed aggression and Yuqing matches up. Each girl takes turns to swipe one another’s face, sending sweat misting into the air. As the minute progresses, Yuqing struggles to keep up with Xinlin’s aggression and ends up eating some gloves that send her punchdrunk. Xinlin seizes the opportunity and reels her arm back, blowing an uppercut through Yuqing’s guard! Yuqing goes down! She couldn’t get up by the count of 10! It’s over!

Official Decision: XinLin Khaw defeats YuQing Zhao by KO6.

Post-match: “YES!” XinLin yells and pumps her arms in the air, finally getting her first boxing win. Tears of joy trickle down her face as she celebrates as the officials help YuQing out of the ring.
