BEFORE: Some pundits believe the loss to Cree Cicchino might have sparked the end of Cheryl's elite run for the time being but the notorious Geordie singer refuses to accept that narrative even though she admits she had to take a two-month break to recharge her batteries. Meanwhile Sammi Hanratty has a history of falling to Lioness Club members so she wants to finally score one over that stable. Cheryl's alleged slump might be a perfect moment to return into the spotlight after a lenghty spell on the sidelines for the talented blonde from Arizona who was inactive for the last twelve months.

Cheryl Cole wears a leopard print bikini set & red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. Sammi Hanratty wears a light blue bikini set & white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Sammi rips through the singer's high guard and knocks her head back & forth until Cheryl breaks down and has to seek respite in mid-distance. Uh-oh! Nobody expected such a swarming start from the long-absend blonde and she wants to make the most of catching the brunette off guard as she chases her down the area and lands more nasty punches up the middle. She tags Cole's chin and wobbles her onto the ropes where she adds more heat pounding away to the body. She cripples Chezza into noticeable spasms and bends her to the side before drilling the chest just to dump the older woman into more trouble. Cheryl fails to escape the heat for remainder of the round and gives Hanratty a lenghty "WTF" stare at the bell.

Round 2:
More of the same in the second, Sammi's high-octane blast is simply too much for the Geordie veteran who literally blocks most of the blonde's punches with her face! Ugh! Hanratty just blows her gasket early and drives in so many licks some fans believe she has to blow Cole away within seconds but the wiley singer escapes the heat through a dominant footwork display down the stretch. She might default the style points but does well to avoid proper damage and Sammi begins to lose her temper in the final minute when she notices how subdued Cheryl really is here. She drops more single-hand bombs on target and cuts Cole's left brow ridge but the fiery singer still gives the youngster another lethal stare at the bell.

Round 3:
Cheryl finally neutralizes the blonde's high-rate production and punks her in the chest before dropping more shots to the body. Sammi shoves the brunette off at first but fails to mount another head-hunting rally and has to accept a back & forth exchange where Cole can stretch her elbows and blows back into the blonde's face! She cuts Hanratty under the left eye herself and tees off with more brutal shots to the point she glues the American to the spot. A quick shot on the ribs and Sammi cries out in pain which only fuels the singer's attacks come the final minute. She thumps Sammi onto the ropes and scythes her across the mouth several times leaving visible swelling on the blonde's lips. Hanratty tries to apply a standing headlock on the charging Brit in order to halt her progress but still gets whacked in the groin at the bell instead.

Round 4:
Cole races clear to the beat the blonde to the punch and rips a left/right cross on the nose to suddenly spill blood from both nostrils. Ugh! Sammi wobbles to the side in shock and fails to raise her mitts quick enough just so Chezza NAILS her with a wicked hook on the right ear. Uh-oh!! Hanratty wobbles forward with a loud whimper and gets caught by another huge uppercut moments later. Cheryl steps into that booming punch and still has time to add one more since Sammi just goes all numb and is almost knocked out on her feet.... and DOWN SHE GOES with her eyes closed!!! Heavy knockdown here for the youngster who remains motionless on the canvas for a while so the ref simply waves off the count since it's obvious there is no hope for Hanratty anymore. KO4 Cheryl Cole!!!

AFTER: The Geordie tourist looked all out of sorts after six minutes but still stormed back to destroy a very dangerous opponent in style. Most pundits believe Sammi would have easily won this bout if she was in better ring shape and it's way too early to question her contending skills despite a lenghty spell on the sidelines. Meanwhile this result gives Cheryl a solid confidence boost and she really needed it following some tough losses to younger opponents in recent months. Lioness coach Eva Mendes admits there are some flaws in Cole's armor but she can usually rise above them in mind over matter fashion just like she did tonight.
