Anne Hathaway vs Jill Wagner(Words: GBS / Results: Lookout!)

Anne wears a cobalt blue bikini with red gloves and boots.

Jill is in black bikini with white gloves and boots.

Two experience lightweights were in the ring last evening as Anne Hathaway took on Jill Wagner.

This will be Hathaway’s first bout since her hiring as trainer for the GBS stable. She talks about how excited she is to be back boxing again in the press for the bout.

Wagner has boxed twice last year and been more active than Hathaway. Jill talks about boxing with other Hallmark actresses during the making of their films.

The boxer split the first four rounds. The second and third rounds were widely won by Anne and Jill. Close rounds bookended those with wins by each boxer.

Anne did win two of the last three rounds so she seemed fresher between the fourth and fifth round in her corner. The bell rang and both boxers came out of their corners to begin it. After some movements and feints by both boxers, Anne struck Jill’s chin with a left uppercut. A couple crisp jabs to Wagner’s face followed and soon the Hallmark star was backing up. Hathaway then went to work Jill’s midsection with two hooks. Fight fans rose from their seats now as Anne’s red gloves smacked Wagner’s midsection hard over and over again. Jill’s white gloves were high but her grunts and groans were heard from the ringside. Elizabeth Hurley one of GBS’ managers is also on her feet screaming for Anne to keep punching. Hathaway had Wagner pressed to the near ropes as the noise in the arena went higher. Anne continued to work Jill’s body until Wagner tried to clinch. Hathaway shifted to her right and crossed Jill’s face with hard crosses from both hands. Two straights to the face AND WAGNER GOES DOWN! Anne goes to a neutral corner as Jill begins to be counted over. Jill is flat on her back as the count reach 5 and could only turn slightly to her left as 10 passed her by.

Anne came out of the corner and raised one glove up into the air as the bell rang. She smiled as the cheers for her rose in level. She bowed to them before she was taken to middle of the ring and had her glove raised and announced as the winner.

Jill was now seated in her corner as Anne was celebrating her win. Wagner was attended to before Anne came over and the two combatants shared a quick moment and hug before Jill left for her locker room.

A surprising bout and win for Hathaway as she speaks after saying how exciting it was to be back boxing. She hopes GBS will allow her to fight as well as train she says.
