Millie Bobby Brown vs. Sadie Sink (Results: Lookout. Words: Wiz)

BEFORE:

Pair of newbie flys square off in this one, with Brown and her one FCBA fight having the more experience of the two. And, Brown is also the solid favorite, because that first fight was a very impressive win over Joey King. But, if that bothers redhead Sadie, well. She's not letting on. "Yeah. She got a nice win and everybody's talking about her," says the American. "Well, know what's great about that? When I knock her out, they'll all be talking about ME."

"Sadie is DELUSIONAL if she thinks she's going to win tonight," says a hard-eyed Millie. "She's not going over. She's going DOWN."

ROUND ONE:

Teens waste ZERO time getting after one another, simply meeting in the center of the ring and letting the hands go. And, while the crowd is loving it, the respective corners are not. There are fight plans, after all, and both have been thrown out the win...BOOM! Right hand, Millie and Sadie is HURT! American wobbles, nearly goes down, and the Brit lets the hands go, driving her back into the ropes and letting her have it with both barrels. Sadie hanging on in a high guard as Brown goes to TOWN. Ref looking in closely, but the redhead is doing enough to keep him at bay, jabbing back here and there, and, late in the stanza, tying up, hanging on, wrestling her way off the ropes. By the time the bell rings, Sink has shaken the worst of the damage, but Millie has taken the round wide to lead 10-9.

ROUND TWO:

Brown looking a bit gassed as we start the second. She's burned a lot of fuel looking to take the redhead out of there in the first, and it shows as Sink takes control, getting off first, backing up the brunette, taking the fight to her. All of a sudden, it's not Sink in retreat, but Millie, who's being reduced to countering in spots as the redhead gets off lusty, getting stronger and stronger as the round goes on. Brown's other problem is that she's isn't moving enough, allowing the American to square here up over and over again. By the final thirty seconds of the round, Sadie's in complete control, teeing off on Millie as the Brit works hard just to stay off the ropes and land the odd counter punch. At the bell, we've had a complete 180, as Sink takes it wide to even things at 19.

ROUND THREE:

Sink ROCKS Brown right off the bell! A SCINTILLATING right hand from the redhead sends the brunette stumbling backward and the American gets to work, battering her rival around the ring as Millie backs and covers, not even trying to stabilize her front. Soon enough, Brown's pinned to the cables and Sadie's paying her back with interest for everything that happened in the first. Millie's eating a TON of heavy leather and the ref is watching very closely. Things look grim until the Brit is able to slow the redhead down just a bit by clinching. Sink shoves off, punches free, but Millie's able to clinch again and again, forcing breaks and bogging down Sadie's offensive. Not completely, but just enough for Brown to ride things out to the bell. When it rings, Sink's pitched a shutout to pull into a 29-28 lead.

ROUND FOUR:

Redhead coming forward, backing up Millie, scoring with both hands. Brown firing back a bit more now, but it's still the American who's fighting lead and getting the better of things. That begins to change after about a minute. Brown able to stabilize her front, begin giving as good as she's getting. Result is some of the best exchanges of the fight so far, with both redhead and brunette putting together solid combinations and landing hard shot. But, while Mille's able to end Sadie's period of control, she's not able to establish one of her own. Result is good, two-way, back and forth stuff for the remainder of the round with the ref leaping in as the bell rings to stop any further trading of leather. And, when he does so, that first minute plays. Sink's won her third straight round and now has a 39-37 edge on the cards.

ROUND FIVE:

Good, two-way stuff continues. Both fighters finally settling in to sound boxing, getting the gloves out and back, moving head, hands, and feet, making themselves difficult targets with solid defense, setting up punches nicely. And, there's not much in it on these terms. For every nice combination the redhead puts together, the brunette has one of her own. And, for every sharp right that sends sweat flying from Millie's head, Brown lands one just as solid to the head of Sink. The back-and-forth never changes, rolling right into the final thirty seconds with the round in doubt. Both fighters turn up the heat at that point, looking to steal the stanza. Doesn't happen. Nobody's able to gain any kind of advantage in that half minute. But, when the bell rings, it's Brown who's done just a bit more and claimed the points to cut Sadie's lead to 48-47.

ROUND SIX:

Sixth begins the way the fifth ended, fighters on even terms, both really showing some nice technical skills now that they've settled in. Brunette a little more aggressive, while the redhead's a little slicker on the defense. Add it all up, and it's more very even stuff with not much in it...BOOM! Right hand, MILLIE! And Sadie is HURT! Redhead's legs do a shimmy, and, just like in the first, Brown is ALL IN, battering her rival backward, forcing her up against the ropes and now DIGGING somebody to try to bring that guard down. Redhead in DEEP trouble as the brunette gets off lusty. BOOM! Right uppie SNAPS back Sadie's head and Sink CRASHES past Brown's right shoulder to the canvas! Brown BOUNCING to a neutral corner. Count a mere formality. It's OVER! And your winner by KO6 is Millie Bobby Brown!

AFTER:

Brown was clearly in a little deeper than she thought here, but she settled down, settled in, and came up with a nice win, something she's likely to have to do a lot more of considering how much attention she's garnering so early in her career. And, there's no doubt the brunette thinks she can. "Give her credit," says Millie with a smile. "She came after me. But, she wasn't getting me. It was always going to end exactly the way it did. Now, who's NEXT?"
