BEFORE:
And now for some more blonde vs blonde action, as up-and-coming Hollywood actress Florence Pugh takes on legendary singer Avril Lavigne in intense Flyweight action. During the earlier press conference, Avril, fresh off a victory over singer Mabel, is asked by a venturous reporter if Florence’s bigger bulk and size is making her worried, especially after a recent heartbreaking loss to Abigail Breslin.

“Worried? Florence is a rookie with only like, 10 fights,” Avril responds immediately, with a deep frown. “She looks tough but she kinda just lost to girls like Joey King and Dove Cameron? I mean, these are some mega creampuffs bitches. If they can beat her I can totally b*tch-slap her in there,” Avril laughs. “So yeah, I don't think so bro. I'm knocking that b*tch out tonight! Hell yeah!"

Florence, seated on the opposite of the press table, is calmly watching the awkward proceedings with a smile. When it’s her turn to respond, she casually sits up and leans into the microphone to speak:

“But I ain’t no creampuff b*tch, honey.” Florence fires back, starring directly at Lavigne before continuing. “Avril is losing one fight and then winning another. She’s been as inconsistent as they come. And those ‘wins’ of hers? They’ve mostly been against complete newbies. So, no, I’m not sweating my shorts either. Avril’s too cocky for her own good and I’m here to humble her a bit tonight. Maybe even a lot.”

Fighting words from both corners, both ladies squaring up at the podium and looking more than a little incensed at the exchange of words. Avril’s coming into this fight several inches shorter and smaller, and Florence’s dominant pose with both hands on her hips, as she meets the Doll’s glare, is very telling of her confidence coming into this fight despite Lavigne’s taking part in almost 10 times as many fights .

Fight night rolls around hours later, and Pugh strides into the arena with her hands raised high to acknowledge the crowd. She’s accompanied by her team and coach Gillian Anderson, and the actress is wearing a white sports bra with a blue trim, dark blue boxing trunks and matching blue gloves, her blonde hair in a tight ponytail. She quietly makes her way into the ring looking focused on the fight ahead, and begins her warmup routine in her corner.
Avril enters next to the pump of her own brand of pop-punk, her blonde hair in a high ponytail and her black sports bra and tights brimming with neon pink as she grins and waves her black gloves to her fans, sticking out her tongue as she struts towards the ring accompanied by her entourage and Dollhouse CEO Carmen Electra. Once inside, she gives her opponent a dismissive glance before walking to her corner, where she begins bouncing up and down, smacking her gloves together and pumping herself up.

Referee gets the ball rolling, and after Avril dismisses his invitation to come touch gloves in the center with a wave of her hand, all he can do is signal for the bell and with a ROAR of the crowd, HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Avril looking tame to start things off, perhaps wary of Florence’s size and power, playing it safe in the first minute: the Doll jabs and swerves at Florence, falling back on her training and experience to get the job done. Florence might have the power but she also is moving in cautiously, one step at a time to gauge and measure Avril’s response. As a result, the bigger girl is taking early punishment to her face as Avril’s punches keep landing clean, the Doll growing in confidence by the second whenever one of her hot streaks lands flush on Pugh’s face. It doesn’t seem to deter Pugh forever, though, as the actress slowly begins picking up the pace of her own attacks, swinging in a hook low to the body before another is sent high at the head, trying to catch Avril with a lucky shot. Not much fortune, however, as Avril absorbs most of the lighter attacks and avoids more of the damaging swings with excellent footwork and head movement. Bell rings and it’s Avril’s show to start, taking the first round wide.

ROUND 2:
It’s definitely in Avril’s interest to avoid a pitched battle with the bigger, stronger woman. Florence knows this, and tries her hand at a little more aggression in the second. She rushes towards Avril out of the blue, repeatedly, slamming shots into her midsection before trying to break down her guard with more tight swings into her arms. Avril grunts as the first couple of hooks strike home, but quickly resets and scrambles out of range, resuming her jabbing pattern at Florence’s face to try and stop her. But Pugh has done her damage, now harassing and chasing the Doll back across the ring for the remainder of the time, getting a little better at blocking Avril’s punches before rocking her head back with a powerful snap hand of her own to the chin. Second round swings back to Pugh’s corner, who evens things out for now!

ROUND 3:
Avril’s working in overdrive, moving even faster to counter Florence’s aggression. The two ladies speed across the ring and back, their backs skirting the ropes as Avril tries to outrun the bigger woman, avoiding most of her power swings in her direction. Florence is getting frustrated, for sure, thinking her younger and fitter self should have had the stamina and speed to pin the older Avril down, but Lavigne keeps slipping out of her punching range, or swerving adeptly to avoid those overhand hooks. Avril fights back in the final minute, a left-left-right combo stunning the nose and snapping Pugh’s head back, then she continues to tag the actress on her lips and body with a flurry, and Pugh’s at a loss as to what to do when the bell finally rings. Excellent round for the Dollhouse Queen, who proves that power and youth may not be everything.

ROUND 4:
Pugh resetting and recalibrating, staying at a safer distance and allowing Avril to come to her instead. If she can’t pin the wiley woman down and go to town on her, perhaps Avril might be foolish enough to spring her own trap. Lavigne knows better than to do that, however, moving fast around and about the blonde, and again tagging her repeatedly to the face and body with strikes from afar. This, however, gives Florence an easier target as well, and Pugh manages to score several jabs off the chin and forehead, her own gloves slamming in hard and fast. It doesn’t throw Avril off forever, as the Doll shakes the pain from her head but then leaps right back in to resume her assault. She doesn’t realise, however, that the damage is being added up, as Pugh crunches another hard hook into the side of her head to send her stumbling off to the side slightly. Not the best round for either woman, but by our estimates, Pugh came out on top by a close margin.

ROUND 5:
Avril’s corner is advising patience going forward, and the Doll is doing her best to listen. She knows she will find it difficult to go a full ten rounds with Pugh, and perhaps this makes her adventurous here in the fifth. She circles in, sending jab flurries at the blonde’s head, scoring a couple of nice shots off the cheek and nose, and drawing a grunt or two. But Pugh has also been biding her time, her arms hovering loose over her chin and chest, waiting for the best moment to strike. That moment comes as Avril dings a hook off the side of her arm, but then takes a CRUNCHING shot to the mouth as Pugh slams a counter-hook right in from the side!! UGHH! Avril took that one whole, looking SHELLSHOCKED as the glove disappears into half her face! NOT looking good for the Punk-Princess, as Pugh makes her move inland, chugging more shots into her body left and right before going up high with another BLAST across the arms! Lavigne grunting and yelping but finds it in her, however, to SURGE forward with her own swings and punches, trying to get into a last ditch, phone booth brawl with the bigger woman as her fans jump out of their seats! And ITS ON! Big brawl in the center of the ring might not be the best strategy for Avril here, but it seems more like desperation taking over, as both blondes slug it out for all of 5 seconds before one woman’s assault proves to be too much for the other, with Lavigne getting pummeled and beaten towards the ropes after another big overhand connects with the side of her head, and Pugh is ON her every step of the way back, blasting and blasting away to the rest of her arms and body! Avril’s getting RUNG like a bell when her back hits the ropes, helplessly trying to get away from Florence but taking more left and right shots to her face with even louder grunts, until BAM! a final power swing to the chin switches Lavigne off! Avril stiffens, her arms going limp as she tilts to her right and CRASHES down to the mat, ending up flat on her back all stretched out near the ropes! WOW! IS THIS OVER ALREADY?!?!

Pugh certainly thinks so, pumping both guns to the roars of the crowd, leaving Avril to her fate by the ropes with Miss Lavigne looks completely out of commission, the poor Doll spread-eagled on her back, helpless and twitching, eyelids fluttering as her gumshield flops out of the corner of her mouth. The referee takes a quick look and chooses not to waste everyone’s time here as by the looks of things Lavigne is not beating a 100 count much less a 10 count! He waves both arms high in the air! It’s OVER in brutal fashion!!

Official Decision: Florence Pugh defeats Avril Lavigne via KO5!

AFTER:
And just like that, Florence Pugh levels another Dollhouse darling – after knocking out Kat Winnick last year in 7, she only needed 5 rounds to finish off the smaller Lavigne.
Throughout her career, Avril has often found herself taking a beating from girls that pack more bulk and power than her, the likes of Panettiere, Ramirez, and recently Breslin have all proven that the singer has issues dealing with power punchers and tonight was no different as Florence Pugh knocks her senseless early in the 5th.

Florence all smiles as she takes a victory lap around the ring with one arm raised, still panting hard after going all out on poor Avril just seconds ago, but this Mighty Women looks elated as she achieves no doubt the biggest win of her short career so far and does so in convincing fashion.

Lavigne meanwhile appears to be in no shape to get off the mat as a stretcher is quickly brought to ringside, the singer’s fans looking on in shock and worry as their idol is being carried onto it and quickly rolled out of the arena for further treatment backstage or perhaps straight to the hospital.

Florence gets her arm raised by the referee in the center of the ring with the crowd giving the actress a standing ovation - well, except for most of the Avril fans in attendance perhaps.

Moments later and the victorious blonde gets approached by reporters for a few words about tonight’s win: “So…I’ve had some setbacks recently, and tonight I came here with a mission. I knew I HAD to win and win big, and that’s what I did. Look, Avril’s had a good career and all but….she’s 37 and I’m too physical for her. I knew she wouldn’t be able to handle me if I stayed focused and kept wearing her down. I’m glad it worked out so well in the end - she only lasted 5 rounds. It’s probably my biggest win yet. Hope I didn’t hurt her too bad.” Florence chuckles. “If she’ll ever want a rematch I’ll gladly give it to her, but I’m not so sure she would after tonight. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it.” Florence laughs, garnering huge cheers from the crowd around her.

The Brit then exchanges some hugs with her team before finally exiting the ring and making her victory march backstage, where rumors of a possible future fight are already spreading, as Emma Roberts, who's been known to take pleasure in one upping her fellow Dollhouse mates and been watching tonight’s fight from behind the scenes with much glee has already expressed her desire for a piece of the Pugh.
