Before: Rosie’s 18 month explosion onto the lightweight scene has come to a screeching halt as her attempts to climb into the Tiffany elite have been thoroughly rebuffed. Kelsey starting to claw her way out of the lightweight pack, upsetting red-hot Sophie Turner on the beach her last time out. High tension bout as one fighter needs the win to stay in title contention, while the other can pull herself into the title picture with a win here.

Rosie in green demi cup bra and boyshorts with white floral trim, white gloves, hair loose and straight down her back. Kelsey in sea-green monokini, black gloves, hair loose and spread over back and breasts

R1: Rosie economical, sliding around in strong, wide stance, pounding jabs, dipping and hooking off 'em to dig at Kelsey's midsection and breasts. Merritt sidestepping, jabbing at Whitely's tummy, looking to come in on angles: curving inside, negotiating blonde's stern poke to rip combos at closer ranges. Nip-tuck action - both women scoring and defending well: down the stretch, Kelsey lights it up. Merritt in a tightly closed stance, hooks RHW's tummy off the front foot; shifts weight to back foot to roll the hook up top - blonde's chin checked. Rosie covering up earmuff, stepping in fence post holes: Kelsey tears at her body a wide right roundhouse, then another pair of hooks ticketed for British breasts. Whitely reaches to clinch, badly shaken at the bell.

R2: Rosie regroups, sticks with fundamentals to manage Kelsey midring. Merritt looking to penetrate, running into Whitely's withering jab: smarting poke repels brunette again and again. Rosie stepping in off the jab, dipping her left shoulder and gouging hooks to Kelsey's 'plexus and jugs: Merritt grimacing, forced onto her heels and Brit starts to take canvas. 2 minute mark, shelling jabs have Kelsey crossing her arms, bobbing to slip: Rosie leans in a clanging right to chin, putting the cherry on the top of a clean comeback round.

R4: Similar stuff - Rosie with jab supremacy, walking Kelsey down patiently: Jenny parrying shots, moving her head, circling around and looking for openings. Merritt jabbing-with, but coming in second: Whitely pounding at eyebrows and breasts, really shelling her brunette. Kelsey able to edge inside and snap off that double hook, but Rosie tying up effectively, keeps her snuggled for ref's breaks. Final minute - RHW's adding in an ominous, slanting long right to the body: big, spanking impact against bronzed torso has Merritt backing off in pain.

R4 Kelsey rallies, turns puncher. Merritt forward behind strong roundhouse-rights to Whitely's ribcage, beating the breath from her blonde. Kelsey able to pile into Rosie's chest, back her up and work on her this round. Merritt rotating her shoulders, fighting off RHW's chest - good thumping body blows banged home as groaning Brit reaches to clinch. Kelsey rough with Rosie here, shoulder-butting her mouth to disengage and keep hands-free: ref holding back as brunette's able to stay busy. Whitely forced to fight off the ropes - punching back out of her tight earmuff with short, clipping right or left uppercuts: Merritt suppressing her blonde, deliberately pounding on biceps to start taking away Whitely’s offensive ability. Break: they're still slammin' - ref has to push seething beauties apart.

R5: Similar aggressive stances—right hands at cheeks, lefts slightly lower an forward, prepped for jabbing; torsos in forward fighting crouches. Kelsey knocking poke against Rosie’s brow, then slamming a straight right flat-knuckle in under left breast: beefy impact draws oohing crowd reaction. Whitely tight-lipped, absorbs shock, answers back a pair of rights to Merritt’s abdomen, then a gonging right upside the head. Kelsey dukes up, rolling shots—she answers back thick amidships—drumming a succession of lefts and rights against the ribs and tummy as Rosie keeps her mitts cheek-high. RHW back with a pair of scraping right uppercuts across Merritt’s front, then a clouting right wide to jaw, followed by a pair of crushing hooks to rack. Kelsey on her heels, blinking; she dips back in, carrying her right hand to the pit of Rosie’s stomach, then easing onto back foot while pulling the hook across blonde’s teeth. Back and forth—very crisp, hard punching in combination: both women fighting juuuust this side of reckless—it’s very disciplined, professional, up tempo fare. Bell: both girls shiny pink about the ribs, scuffed about the faces and trembling from the adrenaline rush of smiting and being smote.

R6: Rosie's pounding at Kelsey up the middle: jabs, right hands, then in with the short, jagged left hook or uppercut off the front foot. Merritt cranky - head routinely jarred, body repeatedly cringing up - she's stepping out, circling with a concerned frown as Whitely walks her down. Rosie as patient, thorough as we've ever seen her - walking Kelsey down, but jabbing her to prep, leaning into brutal right hands, but never overcommitting - just sumptuous, sharp punching, head and body. Late the round, Merritt makes a nice little adjustment with her feet: half-step back when Whitely's jabbing, just changing up distance a smidge - brunette able to make Rosie miss short, then catch her in return.

R7: Rosie plows right back in, but she’s arm weary: Kelsey able to soak the first pumping body blows and shove the fight back outside. Merritt grim-faced and hurting: she’s hunkering down, putting her jab on Whitely, stepping right to keep the veteran’s feet moving, Kelsey opening up a subtle angle on Rosie, lands a clean right cross over her Brit’s left shoulder: Whitely buckles, but refuses to acknowledge the blow, then straighten to hook Merritt’s chin. Girls trade right hands, but Kelsey’s is first: Rosie’s sails over top and RHW’S HURT! Rosie’s lithe body whipsawing, suddenly all loose, hands dropping: Kelsey quick-sets her feet, swipes a wide timing hook upside blonde’s head to range-in, then drops the pulverizing straight right onto Whitely’s face. Rosie’s head kicks back—mouthpiece shooting straight up into the air and SHE GOES DOWN! Whitely flat on her back, arms outstretched—as KO’d as a girl can be. Merritt’s chest heaving, legs unsteady as she glares down at the glistening bronzed body of her victim, relaxing into stupor as the KO7 victrix!

After: Close-fought battle sees Kelsey putting the cherry on a breakout spring, proving the Turner win was anything but a fluke!
