Luisana Lopilato vs Taylor Cole II

BEFORE:
“I’ve got a score to settle,” Luisana says with a confident nod. “Taylor embarrassed me years ago when I lost that match, but I’m back and better than ever. I think I’ve got what it takes to beat her this time.”

The Vixen flashes a smile at the audience and press, but can’t help but glance over at Cole at the other corner of the press hall, still looking sure of her abilities despite almost pushing the age of 40.

“Got to admire Luisa,” Taylor begins. “I know I promised her a rematch, but I honestly thought she would never take it up, especially after the beating she took. But here we are. I was half-intending to retire soon, but a win over Luisa again might just prove I have a few more years left in me.”

Cordial and almost respectful staredown at the podium, as Luisana and Taylor pose with their fists trained to each other’s chins. Cole’s bigger build proved to be a problem the last time they fought, and those two inches on Luisana meant all the difference in the fighting game.

Hours later, Luisana doesn’t look fazed at all, though, shaking her wrists loose in one corner of the ring, staring intently at her opponent in the other. The Vixen is wearing a simple black satin bra and briefs set, tightening a pair of yellow gloves on either hand. At the other end, Taylor is all geared up and looking light on her feet for someone her age. She’s wearing a simple black crop top and short pink tights, waving white gloves into the air when the announcer calls her name.

Referee calls this next match to order, and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
Taylor being cautious as Luisana circles in, the Vixen hoping to use her in-ring experience and more consistent fight schedule to go after the older woman. Jabs fired at Taylor’s head early as Luisa tries to test her defences, but Cole has those arms firmly up and protecting her head. Instead, it’s Cole who claps back with one, two and three left jabs to the head, each time shocking the Vixen to her face and drawing a surprised grunt from her lips. Luisana perhaps hasn’t learned that much since her last fight with the Lightweight fighter, getting picked apart by Cole’s superior reach and power advantage. Bell rings and Luisa has to nurse that swollen cheek, looking a little disappointed with her early result.

ROUND 2:
Cole plays to her strengths, using short and snappy crosses to smash into the arms and body, each time giving Luisana pause. The Vixen is having the same sort of trouble closing distance and then landing her shots, and she manages to stun the bigger woman with several lightning jabs before Cole lands another hard hook across her arms. Luisana has been scoring more often than the last round, and if that last fight was anything to learn from, the Vixen could actually benefit from a little more aggression in her repertoire. Cole gets shocked by a sudden barrage of punches aimed low at her torso, and is forced to switch up her defences now that Luisana is firing punches beneath and under her arms. Cole however still manages to keep Luisa away, relying on her long jab to harass the head to the bell.

Round 3:
But Luisa’s game plan has been switched up. The Vixen is rushing Cole down in between dodging and evading her punches. Cole tries to throw a series of shots towards her head but sees a ducking Luisa weave in and out of the attacks before blasting the brunette with a hook off her torso, another fast flurry disappearing into her bosom and arms as the smaller girl makes her presence known! Cole’s groaning, getting pushed back towards the ropes, trying to make herself look small but Luisana constantly shoving her way in, arms against elbows before whacking away at whatever patch of skin she can find! Cole manages to only get away in the final minute, wincing as one arm protects her body, the other fends off more jabs and straight hands from Lopilato. Great round for the Vixen, but she’s not out of the clear just yet!

Round 4:
Luisana keeps up the pace, her busy fight schedule giving her the stamina to go toe-to-toe with the best of this division, and the fourth round is no exception. Cole looks a little tired, but Luisa ain’t breaking a sweat just yet, rushing the big girl down and chasing her back with plenty of punches thrown into the arms and body. Cole’s looking for some space to catch her breath, but Luisa stays atop of her, driving her into the ropes at one point before snapping her head upwards with an uppercut to the chin, another series of thumping shots off the belly before Cole has to cover up her chin from a follow-up blasting hook. Cole looks like she’s in trouble, no real answer to the blonde's relentless aggression here, as she takes another swing to the side of the head, which dazes her badly. She’s still hanging onto the top rope with one hand when Lopilato whacks her across the face one final time, and DOWN COLE GOES, falling down onto her side like a felled tree in the middle of the forest!! Referee takes one look at the despondent fighter and waves her chances of a recovery off! Luisana takes this rematch in spectacular fashion!

Official Decision: Luisana Lopilato defeats Taylor Cole via KO4!

AFTER:
“I’m on a revenge streak!” Luisa laughs to reporters later, while hugging stablemate Kyra Santoro. “Everyone criticised my performance against Taylor the last time. Look at what I did tonight!”

Cole, meanwhile, is gracious enough to admit defeat, the Fighting Academy starlet later getting back to her feet and heading over to Luisana’s corner to congratulate her properly. The two women share a brief hug and mutual raising of the hands, to the cheers of the arena.
