(Girls Friday vs Lookout! Boxing)
(Written by Girls Friday/Results by Lookout!)
Intro: First time bout between Kendall Jenner and Wallis Day now, both women are in the top twenty of the rankings hoping to move closer to a title shot, there is also the added side of Kendall now exactly being best friends with the Lookout! Boxing stable members, will Wallis turn out to be a new long term rival or will things be different between them?
In the build up to the bout both were asked for a few words in the backstage area by the FCBA Networks Layla Anna-Lee, who first met up with Kendall, the reality star and actress wearing a white blouse, blue jeans and black heels is grinning as she says "only ten fights to go" talking about how many fights she needs to become a Hall of Famer.
The subject quickly changes to Wallis, with Kendall telling Layla "Wallis is lucky number ninety one on my résumé, I have seem her work in the ring since the day she really made a name for herself, when she won the New Blood tournament like I did I knew we would clash someday, I am after all the first and best New Blood champ" hands on her hips as she speaks with authority, staring at the camera as if trying to rile up her opponent.
"Hopefully she hasn't been learning off her stablemates how to act, you know I love the Lookout girls, I mean if you love snakes, if Wallis acts like a bytch then I will drag her through the mud and humiliate her, so let's see how she acts after I beat her" Kendall finishes up with, marching off after nodding to the interviewer.
Wallis meanwhile walked to the backstage area wearing a black tank top that shows off her abs, black jeans and trainers, after hugging Layla, Wallis asks to her "did you think I'd be fighting top fighters?" Layla grins and nods that she did.
"It's funny I am torn on Kendall, let me start by saying I respect her talents, you don't win two titles by beating lucky, all the stuff I have heard about her doesn't exactly make me wanna be friends with her, so I'll simply focus on beating her, the Lookout stable has been great for me, I want to be a champion here, so let's send a message to the rest of the division shall we" hugging Layla again, then heading off with a big smile, looking relaxed for another big fight in her growing career to the top.
Fighting time, first through the curtain comes Kendall with her coach Alessandra on her right side, Eva Carneiro on her left, the group all heads down the ring with Kendall smiling as she hears her fans chant her name, she soon steps into the ring wearing a black sports bra with gold trim and a gold ace of spades badge on the left bra, black trunks with gold trim, matching boots, gold gloves, her hair is tied into a ponytail, bouncing on her toes nodding to Alessandra as they discuss tactics on this fight.
Out comes Wallis now with her coach Nicole Kidman on her left side, she waves to her fans on her way to the ring, no rush on her end as she talks to Nicole with a smile, that smile disappears once she is in the ring, she is wearing a navy blue sports bra with white trim, matching trunks and shoes, white gloves, hair in a ponytail as she taps her gloves together, looking ready for the test ahead of her.
Both fighters step to the middle of the ring, Kendall slightly looking down at Wallis as they shake their arms to keep them loose, the glove touch isn't too friendly as the crack of leather rings out, jogging to their corners, coaches giving them final pieces of advice before the bell rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.
Round 1: Feeling out each others skills to begin with, on their toes as they circle, eyes locked behind their gloves, Kendall is the first to push the tempo by throwing in a double jab that falls short as Wallis dances out of range, a counter right by the blonde falls short as Kendall sidesteps, both have a rye smile on their faces as they see the speed of their opponent's footwork.
A feint by Kendall creates the opening she wants, a straight smacks Wallis onto her nose, knocking her back a step as Kendall now starts to press Wallis towards the ropes, Kendall switching her targets up, Wallis trying to land a clean shot to force Kendall back.
Wallis manages to deflect a left cross, pounding in a jab to the face of Kendall, forcing the American back to the center of the ring as she follows with three straight shots, both go toe to toe to fire up the crowd, some shots landing on gloves, others square into their opponent's face in a fiery opener, the round ends with both turning on their heels to their corner, already marks on their cheeks.
Round 2: Out they come with Day getting more aggressive, looking to take the fight to Kendall, a short left cross catches Kendall on her jaw after she misses with a right cross, Wallis then digs in two body shots as she gets into her opponent's grill, making Kendall back off as she holds the center of the ring.
Both drilling in shorts to the others face, Wallis looking in the better position as she moves her upper body more to slip punches and land her own, Kendall needing to be more aggressive herself as she shoves back Wallis, opening up more as they slam their punches through the others guard.
Again it's Day pushing the pace this round, deflecting a straight she rams in one to the chest of Kendall, backing her back onto the ropes as she whacks away to the ribs of Jenner, who grabs onto her in a tight clinch, referee splits them up with Kendall gritting her mouthpiece in a show of frustration, the round soon ends with Wallis looking happy with herself after a strong round after a slow start to the fight.
Round 3: Both are really warmed up to the task now, boxing around the center of the ring, Wallis slips a jab to come inside with a right under the ribs of Kendall, a short left cross lands on the jaw of the model, forcing her to retreat back again, Wallis is starting to really get a measure of Kendall it seems.
Forcing back Kendall towards the ropes, Wallis is making Kendall cover up more tightly, starting to switch her targets up more, taking a few clean hits to the top of her head from Kendall, a right cross turns Kendall's head, forcing her to clinch up to slow down the actress.
Broken up so they can resume fighting, Kendall catches Wallis coming in with a double jab into her face, getting on her toes as she looks to keep the distance between them where she wants it, slamming in her punches to the top of Wallis to snap back her head, the bell rings to end the round with Kendall sitting on her stool shaking her head, annoyed that Wallis is pushing her harder then maybe she expected.
Round 4: Needing to box more on her back foot, Kendall is starting to land the crisper punches of the fighters, Wallis giving chase in a cat and mouse affair, able to land a few flush body shots but taking some stiff cross punches around her temples for her troubles, making her back off.
Suddenly there's a reverse course by Kendall, seeing Wallis back up makes her step in with a straight into the face of the smaller fighter, driving Wallis into her shell as she now moves to the center, Kendall has found another gear by the looks of it, Wallis clearly not expecting this to come her way after two strong rounds.
Deciding to try to fight her way back into contention, Wallis starts swinging back cross punches, still Kendall seems in control as she backs up a step to dodge before landing a stiff straight into the face of her opponent, forcing Day back near the ropes, the bell rings to end a dominant round for Jenner, who jogs back to her corner with a steely gaze, Wallis getting wiped down as she listens intently to Nicole tell her what she needs to fix.
Round 5: Stepping back together with Kendall now looking to drive back Wallis after her successful last round, she misses with a straight, eating an uppercut that sends Kendall onto her heels, Wallis then lands a left hook on the chin of model, her legs buckle for a second as that shot had some venom behind it.
Needing to clinch up with Wallis now, Kendall not looking so sure of herself after that combo landed flush, referee splits them up with Day coming right back at Jenner, the Wallis fans roaring her on as she is forcing back her opponent, Kendall shelling up as she finds herself driven into a neutral corner, thudding body shots now come in as Kendall groans out, grabbing hold of Wallis again as Taryn looks a little worried to say the least in her corner.
As they resume fighting Kendall is boxing off the back foot again, it isn't long till Wallis gets back inside her reach, Kendall holding once more as she is looking to stop Wallis's momentum, heads grinding as Wallis forces Kendall into the ropes, split up just before the bell rings, Wallis gets a loud roar from her fans, sensing she has Kendall hurting, the Girls Friday corner working hard on their fighter to prepare her for the next round, Kendall nodding assuring Taryn she is OK.
Round 6: Wallis looking to keep the heat on Kendall, she is getting clipped coming in though as Kendall is boxing more defensively, a double jab lands right on the nose of Wallis to keep her at range, a little frustration shows itself as Wallis swings in an overhand right that doesn't find anything other then thin air, INSTEAD A COUNTER LEFT LANDS ON THE EAR OF WALLIS, FOLLOWED BY AN UPPERCUT THAT LANDS ON HER CHIN TO SEND HER DOWN TO HER KNEES!
Kendall marches over to the neutral corner, eyes fixed hard on Wallis as the count begins, 1...2...3... Wallis shakes her head as she blinks, the shot to the ear might have been more damaging then the uppercut, 4....5...6... Wallis pushes up to her right foot, shutting her eyes for a moment as she focuses on the count, 7....8... She beats the count, fists raised as she says she can fight on.
Back at it they go, Wallis trying to even the score is missing with her power punches, a straight lands on her nose before a left hook lands on her jaw, Wallis's knees are the one looking shaky now, she is forced back into her corner as Kendall now starts to hammer through her gloves, a gash opens above Wallis's right eyebrow from a left hook, her guard is low, THE REFEREE HAS SEEN ENOUGH AS THEY STEP IN! SAYING THAT WALLIS COULDN'T DEFEND HERSELF!
Winner Kendall Jenner TKO Round 6
After: Another win on the board for Kendall, she roars as she turns back to her corner, relieved to have beaten such a tough opponent, whether Kendall admits it or not, Wallis definitely had her worried during this fight,
While Wallis is helped onto her stool, the Lookout crew work on patching her up as a trickle of blood runs from the cut down the right side of her face, no one is complaining about how the fight finished, though Nicole is making sure to tell Wallis that she is proud of her performance, a few things to work on and Wallis will be ready to push her way to the top.
In the opposite corner Kendall sits down on her stool, smiling as she sees a bottle of water put in front of her, after taking a well earned drink, Kendall admits "this fighting so often really takes it out of you" Alessandra telling her "you still have plenty of fights to go if you want to be immortal" winking at Kendall, who sighs with a cheeky grin as Eva massages her shoulders.
As soon as both women are patched up, they head to the center for the final announcement, Kendall getting her left arm raised in victory, Wallis nodding but not looking pleased, knowing she had chances to win this fight, the cold look exchanged by the fighters show this is probably not the only time these two will share a ring.
For now though Wallis leaves the ring, this shouldn't effect her ranking too much, it will be a remainder though of what she needs to improve upon to be an elite contender, with Nicole's help that might not be too long a journey, she certainly showed glimpses tonight of a champion in the making.
Kendall now has three wins in a row as she builds towards the Hall of Fame, doing a lap of honour outside the ring blowing kisses to the fans, who chant her name in response, things aren't going to get easier for Kendall, especially that she has a fourth bout scheduled with fellow former lightweight champion Alexis Ren in two weeks time.
