Charlotte Jordan (Unattached) v Leah Perkins (Bondi Babes)

Written by Knowlesley / Results provided by Lookout!

With two easy wins against ageing jobbers behind her, 27 year old Charlotte is making a massive leap to take on the 23 year old Australian beauty, and flyweight belt contender Leah, who will be taking on Zara Holland for the title if Zara manages to overcome Jorgie Porter later this evening.

Charlotte is clearly looking to catch the eye of a BBU stable owner to secure a contract, but she may need a more revealing portfolio of her enviable looks if she is to secure that.

Charlotte is first into the ring in a tight white vest and red shorts, looking really good, but she’s probably overshadowed when Leah enters in her scarlet bra and panties, looking every inch the face of BBU Boxing.

The girls bump gloves when the referee asks them to, with Leah making it clear she feels no animosity towards Charlotte, although she expects to inflict a first defeat on the English babe.

Round 1

Charlotte looks good from the opening bell, landing a decent right jab in Leah’s mouth, and trying to whip in a left hook to follow, but the younger girls is much too quick, blocks the hook, and hits back, three left jabs and a right cross all finding Charlotte’s waiting face, knocking the Brit backwards, her eyes widening as she feels the power of the gorgeous Australian, who unusually stands off, rather than following up on her success, waits for Charlotte to come to her, and doesn’t need to wait long as the Brit comes at her again with her right jab, Leah picking her off with some ease in response, making Charlotte look a little slow, and now she presses the Corrie babe back to the ropes, and hits her to her ribs with some solid punches, Charlotte getting worked over a little, and looking grateful to hear the bell to end the opening round.

Round 2

Leah presses Charlotte backwards early in the round, and starts to cuff her around the cheeks with some sweet and accurate punches, but Charlotte retaliates, giving as good as she takes as she unloads on Leah with a couple of good combinations, the Brit looking for a chance to let her younger opponent taste a left hook, but Leah’s wary of her, and protects herself well, Charlotte looking a little frustrated that she hasn’t landed a hard shot on Leah, but she’s making the Australian teeter backwards as she hits her, focuses more on the young babe’s body as the round progresses, Leah on her toes though, and she punches her way out of trouble when Charlotte works her backwards, neither girl staking a clear claim for the fight in this round, although Charlotte’s the more aggressive boxer, and she looks pleased with her efforts at the bell.

Round 3

The girls are looking cagey again as the round begins, with Charlotte still doing her best to restrict the space available for Leah, but the younger girl’s too quick to get herself trapped, and she’s beginning to find her range a little better now, her left jab landing in and around Charlotte’s  right cheek and eye, the Brit’s skin getting scuffed a little, although she seems to be coping well and knocks Leah’s head backwards with a couple of solid jabs, making the Aussie blink and back off, although she’s still throwing punches, catching Charlotte as she gets in a little too close, and now the Brit has to take a breath, stands back where maybe she should have looked to clinch, and Leah starts to increase the pressure, giving Charlotte a few choppy punches around her cheeks and a good right hook to her mouth to close out the round.

Round 4

Charlotte is definitely beginning to show some battle scars now, her right cheek bruised and reddened, and Leah is looking impressive as she attacks the Brit early in the round, puts her backwards to the ropes, and begins to land to her body, ripping those rangy hooks into Charlotte’s body, the older girl panting as the shots land, and now Leah hits her on the jaw with her left hook, and Charlotte’s hurt!  The Brit backs away, clenching her eyes shut, a couple of tears leaking, but Leah isn’t letting her off the hook, spears another left into Charlotte’s gut, then hits her face with a lovely right hook, and this time Charlotte goes down!  The Corrie babe gets to her feet at 6, trying to look confident, but she’s still a little shaky, and Leah has around twenty seconds to finish the fight here in round 4, gives Charlotte a sweet jab and hook combination, but finds that the Brit has learned her lesson a little, and manages to clinch to close out the round, and survive.

Round 5

After suffering the first knockdown of her brief career to date, Charlotte seems to have recovered, and she takes the fight to Leah, even though her left cheek is bruised and swollen, threatening to impair her vision before much longer, and she’s throwing a few punches in at Leah, which the younger girl parries or avoids fairly easily, Charlotte getting frustrated, then annoyed as Leah picks her off with a couple of crisp left jabs to her face, the Brit still attacking though, making Leah step back as she imposes herself, Charlotte certainly putting herself in the shop window to get a contract tonight, because she’s actually making Leah cover up, backed into a neutral corner, and she’s looking to nail her girl with a left uppercut, but the Australian beauty blocks her, Charlotte using a lot of energy, but not actually hurting Leah, who still looks calm and collected, unlike the red-faced, sweating Charlotte as the bell sounds again.

Round 6

Charlotte comes at Leah, but the Aussie picks her off again with some ease, her left jab thudding into the Brit’s face, a little smear of blood under her nose now to show how much Leah’s punches are stinging her, and she’s having to give ground to Leah as the younger girl lands again with her jab, and hits Charlotte to her ribs with a right hook, and that’s hurt Charlotte, really caught her unawares, making her stoop, and she’s vulnerable now, gets caught again with Leah’s left hook, and goes down for a second time.  Bravely, maybe foolishly, Charlotte rolls over and pushes herself upright, the girl swaying slightly, on her unsteady feet at 8, her left eye closing from the battering her cheek has absorbed, but the referee isn’t stopping the fight, and waves Leah in, the Australian shaking her head, in disbelief rather than disagreement, and she just goes about her business, sets Charlotte up straight with a series of left jabs, and another clubbing right hook sees the previously undefeated Charlotte on her back, gumshield hanging from her mouth, the poor girl absolutely sparked out.

Result; Leah Perkins knocked out Charlotte Jordan in round 6

Charlotte won’t feel very good about herself tonight when she wakes up, but she actually put in a decent performance against a girl who is way outside her class at the moment.  Leah checks on Charlotte, ruffles her hair, then announces that she wants to fight the winner of tonights showdown between Jorgie Porter and Zara Holland.
