Intro:
Two possible lightweight title contenders meet now. Dua Lipa wanting to make a statement after losing her FCBA lightweight title shot against Lily James in January. Now she is taking on the undefeated Jodie Comer, who with a win could very well earn a title shot with the biggest win of her career.

At the start of the month over in Abu Dhabi; Jodie Comer made her FCBA debut with a win over Ellie Fanning. After that Dua Lipa posted on her social media account "congratulations Jodie on the impressive win. I was rooting for you and the rest of your team to win the International Cup ♥️"

Jodie seeing the message replied "oh my god! I have been listening to your music and seen you boxing these past few years. You always impress me but I am not one for mincing words, so as I feel warmed up thanks to Ellie and sparring with Lily (James). Would you be up for a bout against me? 🥊" Getting fans of both talking about who would win the clash.

The reply came with Dua posting "well I don't turn down challenges Jodie. Let's get it on back in Britain for our fans." both women being respectful but will that continue in the bout?

Fight night; Dua steps out first onto the aisle with her coach Gisele Bundchen behind her. Dua waves to the fans as she walks to the ring. She soon steps inside the ring wearing a black sports bra with gold stripes down the sides, matching trunks and shoes, along with gold coloured gloves, her hair is in a ponytail as she turns to the crowd and blows them a kiss from her corner.

Jodie walks down the aisle towards the ring with her coach following. She is wearing a red sports bra with thin white stripes, matching trunks, red gloves and gloves, hair tied into a ponytail too. She gets inside the ring with a nod to her coach that she is ready.

Jogging to the middle of the ring. Both women nod to each other to show respect, the referee finishes their instructions as the fighters shake their arms to keep them loose. Bumping fists before they jog back to their corners. Both ready when the bell rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.

Round 1:
There's a nod before they engage; testing each other out with their early punches, showing plenty of respect in the opening twenty seconds of the round. Dua is the first to step up the tempo as she steps in with a jab/straight into the face of Jodie, moving back to range when a left cross flies her way. Jodie comes back at Dua with a straight to her body as she shows she won't be just standing there waiting for Lipa to come at her.

After a tentative opening minute. Dua catches Jodie coming at her with a left hook to her jaw, a straight snaps back the head of the Scouse lass to push her back a step. Dua builds off that success as she opens up more with two and three punch combos, Jodie looking tense as she just lands single punches in return.

It leads to the final minute where Jodie is being herded around near the ropes. Punches slamming through the mitts of Comer are marking her cheeks up. Still in the last ten seconds of the round, Jodie ducks under a straight to land a left/right combo into the abs of Dua, followed by a right hook into the singers ribs. The bell rings with both jogging back to their corners looking warmed up to the task ahead now.

Round 2:
Both women push off their stools and get to grips more quickly. Slamming in straight shots around the others face. Dua looking to build off her success in the last round tries to step in more with her punches. Instead Jodie slips a straight to land a counter left around to Dua's ear. She then follows with a straight to the forehead of the brunette.

Jodie starting to hold the center of the ring, thudding in her punches around the chest of her opponent as much as up top. Dua looking a little annoyed by that as she looks to fire back over the top. Both women certainly opening up more now as they both land hooks when getting in closer.

It is Comer controlling the action as she rams a straight into the lips of her foe. A left/right hook combo come next to make Dua groan out. Finding herself soon on the ropes as Jodie looks to swing in uppercuts to really hurt her. Dua manages to hold onto Jodie instead, leading to a grapple between them along the ropes till they are pushed apart. The round comes to a close with Jodie looking to have loosened up now.

Round 3:
They resume with both starting to get more into each others faces to land. Their eyes tell the story that they have stepped up a gear. Barks and grunts can be heard when they get in close to work, before breaking apart to reset themselves to look for angles to strike from.

Jodie leans out the way of a left cross, landing a straight back into Dua's chest to make her hiss. It looks to have distracted Dua as she is caught clean with a left hook to her chin to twist her head. Jodie taking the momentum now for herself as she forces back Dua to a neutral corner. Where she works away with hooks into her body, head down as she barks in effort.

After Dua pulls Jodie into a front headlock under her left arm, the referee breaks them up. Back at it they go with Dua boxing more on the move, not planting her feet as much as they exchange straight punches. The round soon comes to an end with Jodie certainly showing part of why she has been undefeated in her career.

Round 4:
Needing to step up or be pushed around after chatting to her coach. Dua is starting to use a double jab to keep Jodie more on the outside, stepping more to the left of her opponent too. Jodie maybe showing a little inexperience at this level as she misses with a right cross trying to close the distance, not cutting off the ring as she should be.

Into the second minute Dua slams in a left hook to the cheek of Jodie as she switches her attack up. Slamming in a straight to her forehead as Jodie looks a little befuddled. Back goes Comer now to the outside part of the ring as Lipa even gives her payback with a few punches to her chest. Jodie firing over the top as she shows her toughness to take hits and come back at opponents, making Dua back off when she gets hit with a few clean hits.

Less then a minute to go, Jodie moves in closer to work, forcing the issue between them. Gritting their mouthpieces as they work each others body in the home stretch of the round. Grunting when they get hit as they grind foreheads as they try to prove they are the stronger fighter. The bell rings with a shove from both to break apart. They look deadly serious now as they stare across the ring at their opponent.

Round 5:
They resume with Dua looking to keep the distance at range, Jodie stepping under the jab to land a few solid body shots but eats a few straights in return to force her back out. Both trying to enforce their will on the action as they exchange more punches. JODIE SLIPS A RIGHT TO LAND A STRAIGHT UNDER THE CHIN OF HER OPPONENT TO PUSH HER TO HER HEELS, AN OVERHAND LEFT LANDS TO SEND DUA ONTO HER BACKSIDE!

Jodie walks to the neutral corner without much celebrating yet. 1....2....3.... Dua shakes her head to clear any fog around it. 4....5....6... Dua pushing up to her right knee as her left foot in planted. Nodding over to her corner as she knows she was too open there. 7....8... Up to her feet again, Dua raises her fists to show she can fight on.

Off they go again with Jodie looking to find an angle to finish this. Dua boxing a little more defensively as just over half the round is left. They exchange at range with a few power punches flashing in front of Dua's face from Jodie. They lock eyes through their mitts with Dua landing some crisp punches back into the face of the blonde actress.

Not long left to go in the round. Jodie dips under a straight to hammer in an overhand left. A straight into the stomach of Dua has to groaning as Jodie drives her back onto the ropes. She pins down Dua behind her guard as Jodie is throwing a barrage at her. The round ends with Jodie nodding to her coach as she gets a thumbs up. Dua gets wiped down as Gisele tells her what she needs to change, needing to call on her experience on how her fighter can change this around.

Round 6:
Out they come with Jodie looking to put the heat back on Dua. Who is landing a crisp jab into the head of her opponent. Jodie landing a few cuffing shots around the torso of Dua, just missing with an uppercut as the brunette leans her head out the way. Dua landing a straight into the forehead of Jodie in response to knock her back a step.

A left hook opens up Jodie as it lands around to her ear. A right hook lands on her chin to twist her head the opposite way. Suddenly Jodie is looking in a little trouble as she finds herself being backed up. A straight knocks Jodie into the ropes, she is swinging back but Dua is smart to lean out the way before landing a right hook around to send some sweat from the head of the blonde. A LEFT HOOK THEN SENDS JODIE DOWN ONTO HER FRONT AS THE PRESSURE HAS BECOME TOO MUCH FOR HER!

Dua raises her arms in the air as she jogs over to the neutral corner. 1....2....3... Jodie turns her head to the right side, groaning as the referee counts over her. 4....5....6....7... Jodie tries to push up to all fours. 8... She slips back down as she looks badly dazed. 9...10 it's all over!

Winner Dua Lipa KO Round 6

After:
Dua looks understandably relieved after fighting from being put down herself. She returns to her corner to get a hug from her coach. This looks to have been a good fight to test where she is mentally from the loss in the FCBA lightweight title bout. Dua smiling as she sits on her stool getting cleaned up.

All the while it can't be forgotten that Jodie has lost her undefeated run. She is slowly helped up to her stool. When it descends on her what has happened, Jodie wipes a few tears away from her ears with the back of her right hand after her gloves are taken off. She is trying to put on a brave face on the situation.

Once Dua sees that Jodie is back in her corner, Dua heads over to Jodies corner to check on her. Both women share an embrace as any hard feelings created during the fight are gone now. Dua telling Jodie not to take this defeat hard as she tells her she had her worried, Jodie smiling in reply and thanking her for the kind words.

Out the ring steps Jodie with help from her coach. She gets a round of applause from her fans. Jodie nodding to her fans as she looks to be cheering up a little, though it will be interesting to see if she can pick herself up going into her next fight. Her title aspirations are on hold for now.

In the ring Dua gets her left arm raised in victory. She nods as she gets cheers from her fans. Dua poses for the cameras with Gisele on her right side. Both smiling to the cameras as the trip back to the UK has been a nice one for them.

Though it will be interesting as Dua leaves the ring. Should she maybe turn her attention to the BBU world title or go back to focusing on the FCBA belt? To get out the shadow of her stablemate Kendall Jenner someday as she has shown all the tools, just hasn't won the big title.
