BEFORE: Fan favorite Odette Yustman gears up for her Asylum PPV return later this month by taking on a promising Margaret Qualley whom some pundits consider to be "The Next Odette" for lack of better comparison. The Lioness Club entourage openly claims going back to Asylum on the back of four consecutive defeats simply doesn't pass the quality test and Qualley is a manageable opponent to score a much-needed victory. The younger brunette claims that she will get those gatekeeper gigs at HBO herself once she adds to Yustman's miserable record in recents months though!
Odette Yustman wears a red crop top, micro jeans shorts & silver gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Margaret Qualley wears a light blue crop top, micro jeans shorts & black gloves. Long black hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Margaret rolls into a jabbing assault but eats a quick hook over the top as she almost forgets Odette comes from a southpaw stance and the head-hunting response stuffs the Montana native in the center of the ring. Odette gets going early and overwhelms the younger brunette through supreme work rate and forces her back following another big shot on the jaw. Margaret has to dance around the aerial attacks and doesn't really look that comfortable which allows Yustman to pick her off and score easy pressure to please the judges. Odette doesn't blow her gasket despite some loud cheers from the stands and methodically pummels the subdued rival onto the ropes where she runs out the clock with more clean strikes between the ailing high-guard.
Round 2:
Another fast start from Qualley and this time she gets to the Lioness brunette and rocks her head with a quick left/right delivery. Odette stands her ground at first but then gets wobbled to the side when the Montana girl smacks her on the ear. Woof. Yustman decides to bail out into mid-range and escapes further trouble thanks to her supreme mobility alas Margaret still wants to cash in with the head-hunting blast. She bumps the LA native onto the ropes but gets clinched into safety as Odette shows some physical strenght to neutralize the phone booth danger in convenient fashion.
Round 3:
More slugging efforts from Qualley who realizes she has to take the fight to a genuine counter-puncher. She lands more single shots over the top to knock Yustman's head back in crowd-pleasing fashion but lacks the big power supply to really hurt the southpaw veteran. Meanwhile Odette is back to her trademark tricks, she slips by the initial onslaught and picks the younger brunette off down the stretch. Qualley barks in anger when she soaks up a couple of these hard hits on the nose and steps away from the close range pressure for a change. Yustman taunts her verbally over the "New Odette" label and forces Margaret to take the bait. A drilling hook on the jaw almost derails the original plan but another clinch neutralizes the free agent's aggressive push in the closing stages after all.
Round 4:
Margaret flies in with another aerial bomb but she bounces off the top of Odette's forehead and gets caught by a quick uppercut from the inside before the older brunette clocks her with a left hook on the ear. Ugh! Qualley stumbles forward with a whimper where she meets another uppercut double on the jaw... she drops her gloves too low and Odette hazes one for the fences... she drops a left hook on the ear and folds the Montana woman into loud spasms. Uh-oh! Margaret seeks a desperate clinch but Odette is faster to the line and SMOKES the aching rival with another huge blast on the exposed jaw. DOWN GOES QUALLEY!!! The "Next Odette" ends up laid out in spread eagle fashion with her eyes closed and the ref waves off the count!!! KO4 Odette Yustman!!!
AFTER: The losing streak is over and Yustman signals she's ready to terminate Kara Del Toro's own winning streak in three weeks time: "Hey, that Texas chick can't have it that easy anymore! Peak Daniela Ruah probably punches harder than she can!" (giggles), "I need to have fun again, from losing to Miss Alabama to having to fend off my marketing replacement! Counter-punchers need some love again! It's not like I will ever dye my hair blonde for Tess Valmore to lead the cheering! I know she will be in my corner when I put that dancing Texas hooker to sleep!" (winks).
