Karen Gillan: 34 years old, 5’11”, 26-15 FCBA + BBU since 2011, Fates Boxing
Results: Lookout Words: Fates
Before:
Flair coming off an impressive showing at the Diamond Boxing tournament while Gillan is having a mediocre year at 1-2 in the FCBA, and briefly retaining the BBU welterweight title before dropping the belt to Josephine Skriver. Charlotte still looking for a stable despite impressive showings in fights, and the blonde comes out swinging in the press conference.
“Karen is just a has been in the FCBA. She can do well in the BBU, but not with the big girls in the FCBA.” Charlotte says, “For all I know, she may get replaced by Blake Lively given how Fates is letting that b*tch fight welterweights.”
Gillan fires back, “At least I have a stable and am not jobber bait.”
Flair looks like she wants to take off Gillan’s head, but the blonde decides against it and she is next seen stepping out of the back for the fight. The wrestler wears a blue sports bra and matching trunks with white gloves. The blonde paces around the ring while she waits for the redhead to appear.
Gillan steps out moments later, the actress wearing a green sports bra with black trunks and gloves. The two girls thunk their gloves together harder than is normal and the bell rings.
Round 1:
The two welterweights slide out of their corners and start circling each other, and Karen goes to her jab early. Charlotte ready for the strikes from distance and blocks the lefts and rights from Karen and tags her back, working the counterpunch. Gillan still trying for her jabs but Flair is expertly blocking the blows and pounds the actress’s body in response. Charlotte goes on the offensive and works Karen’s body, the blonde showing off her power as she works the redhead into the ropes. Gillan with the clinch for the break, but she has to change it up after the ref steps in. The blonde still gets her way with the strong strikes and works the redhead around the ring, but the actress is starting to land some of her jabs. The bell rings and the round goes to Flair on points, wide.
Round 2:
Gillan eager to get back at Flair after the blonde took her for a ride in the first, and the redhead lands a pair of strikes to start the round. Charlotte slugs Karen back in her midriff and it’s a slugfest to start the second as both welterweights trade blows into the other girl’s body. Flair may not have Gillan’s experience, but the blonde can slug with the best of the welters and she works the redhead back into the ropes. Karen quick to clinch and the ref gives the break. Flair works back in close to Gillan, but Karen is ready for Charlotte and the redhead establishes her jab to keep the distance between the two girls. Flair not taking many punches, but she does not land many either before the bell.
Round 3:
Charlotte and Karen step out of their corners for the third and start trading blows from range, Gillan getting the upper hand to start the round. The redhead lands a pair of blows into the blonde’s mouth, but the blonde has plenty of reach of her own. She tags the Fates girl back with a left and the trades turn into a stalemate, each girl trading blows evenly as neither is able to get an advantage. Karen puts her longer legs to use as she strides around the ring, trying to out maneuver the wrestler, but Charlotte is quick on her feet and avoids getting outflanked by the redhead. Flair starts closing distance, looking for a strike into the bigger girl’s midriff. Charlotte finds her blow into Karen’s body, but Gillan comes right back with a left hook and sends the blonde backward. The bell rings and the third round ends.
Round 4:
Gillan quickly starts circling around Flair and baits the blonde into lunging after her. The redhead responds with a right to her mouth and the circling continues, and Karen goes for a jab. Charlotte blocks and comes back with a right, and Karen backs away before the free agent can follow up. The two girls continue circling and Flair looks to press her advantage. Blonde girl finds ribs but the redhead finds her ribs back and retreats as Charlotte goes for another body blow. The wrestler’s swing misses the actress’s body and Karen snaps Charlotte’s head back with a jab. Flair dropping back with her gloves up as Gillan advances, but the redhead keeps her focus on the blonde’s body. Flair winces as Gillan expertly works her body over lefts and rights to the bell, and the actress takes the fourth on points.
Round 5:
Gillan hitting her stride as she finds her jabs and hits Flair in her face early. Charlotte struggling to find her counters. Karen with a big straight to start the second minute and she follows up with a left into her midriff and Charlotte is hurt! The blonde gasps and on comes the redhead! Karen working her foe’s tender torso and Charlotte’s guard starts to drop as the actress drives her into the ropes. Flair tries to clinch but Gillan backs up and the blonde’s totally exposed. Karen drives a pair of blows into her chin and down goes the wrestler! Gillan to the corner as the ref starts to count. Flair able to get to all fours, but she can’t pull herself up as she grips the ropes. Your winner by KO5, Karen Gillan!
After:
Karen brings herself back to an even record on the year as she takes her second victory, and the redhead poses on the ring post. Charlotte is shaking her head, rolling herself out of the ring before Karen can show good sportsmanship and greet her opponent. The blonde pushes the microphones and cameras away, not bothering to look back at the redhead.
Gillan does talk to the press after her fight, unlike her foe, “It’s a shame Charlotte doesn’t want to talk. She really is a good fighter, she really is.” Karen says, “I wish her the best, I do, but the better fighter won tonight.” |
