BEFORE:
While the past year may have been rough for Abigail Breslin, what with getting released from her stable and then suffering a mixed bag of wins and losses, it’s a little worse for Lauren Mayberry, who hasn’t fought since 2020. The petite Scottish Doll enters the press area with a sheepish smile and wave, perhaps still acclimatizing to the wave of camera flashes that greet her return to the ring.

"So, I haven't fought in a while. I had to do a lot of thinking before accepting this fight. Abigail is bigger and stronger and she just knocked out Avril 2 months ago. I ended up deciding to take it despite my concerns. I'm feeling good and maybe winning tonight can get me some much needed recognition around the FCBA. I'll bring a different approach to fighting Abigail than what you saw from Avril, and maybe that'll make all the difference. It's going to be an uphill battle for sure. But I won't go down without a heck of a fight."

While Mayberry hasn’t stepped foot into the competitive circle, her Dollhouse trainers repeatedly emphasize to the press that the Doll herself has been keeping busy, taking on plenty of sparring matches and staying fit and in fighting shape. Breslin, however, isn’t impressed, with the Hollywood blonde actress later scoffing into the mic in response:

“I knocked out Avril in six, I don’t know how Lauren expects to do better tonight, but I guess I’m looking forward to seeing what she’ll bring to the ring tonight….” Breslin says with a cocky smirk. “Nothing personal against her, but I’ve watched her past fight tapes - whatever I could actually scrounge up - and I don’t think she can handle me…like, at all.”

It’s a tough sell indeed to put these two competitors against each other, especially as they square off at the podium and the audience can see the power disparity: Breslin with an inch of an advantage in the height department, but definitely packing more bulk and power in her figure. She waves a threatening fist in Mayberry’s face, trying to intimidate her opponent, but Mayberry’s just staring back, calm and collected, both her hands planted on her hips.

Fight night rolls around and Breslin is first to enter the arena, drawing cheers and hoots as she strides down the ramp with both white gloves up in the air. She’s wearing a white sports bra and long black tights for this contest, her blonde hair in a bun. Up next, Lauren fires up the crowd when she steps out of the curtains to CHVRCHES’ song ‘Violent Delights’, her brown hair in a tight ponytail and her arms raised as she confidently walks down the ramp with a smirk, enjoying the crowd’s reaction in her usual champagne pink sports bra and short black tights, complete with black gloves.

In the ring, the referee calls this next Flyweight match to order, and gets the nod from both ladies in their corners. HERE WE GO!

ROUND 1:
Lauren’s attempting to stay the f*ck away from Abigail, a good strategy she’s honed in the gym, as she skirts the parameter of the ring and exchanges fire with the bigger blonde. Breslin looks more than a little amused, that smirk still on her face as she hounds and swings at Lauren’s head like she’s the apex predator and Lauren is a deer getting cornered in a dead end of the woods. Mayberry, however, is proving she’s anything but, landing some quick jab attacks to Abigail’s face and body to irritate the f*ck outta her, and show that Breslin’s defences are either too slow or have plenty of holes. Breslin does manage to cause a stir of her own late in the round, slamming a hook into the arms to toss and turn Mayberry a couple of feet off towards the ropes, just a sampler of her power in action. Is it enough for her to retake the round? We doubt it, as Lauren’s quantity wins overall.

ROUND 2:
What Mayberry’s trying to avoid here is a prolonged phonebooth exchange with the bigger woman, which is exactly what Breslin wants, using her own power and bulk to throw Lauren off her feet like a kite in the wind. First minute and Mayberry’s doing her dodging game to great effect, however, slipping to the side and under some of Breslin’s hooks, before powering her own left-right combo into the center of her stomach or snag the chin. But it’s all just white noise for the blonde, who just keeps on coming and keeps on swinging at Mayberry’s head, trying to trap her against the ropes where she has no more runway to run. Last minute and Breslin scores, a right hook banging hard into the guard to again half-spin Mayberry about on her feet with a loud grunt. Breslin wastes no time, keeping on her smaller foe and shocking her again and again with stiff blasts to her arms and side of the head, then rocking her body with a left and a right. In a flash, Mayberry’s in trouble, her mouth open and already breathing hard, as she tries to either get away or fight back. Unfortunately, she gets trapped against the ropes and decides to turtle up instead, and Breslin devilishly POUNDS on her a little while more, making her lithe body jerk and twist till the bell finally rings and the referee has to pull the snarling blonde off her quarry. Horrendous round for the Doll, who needs to find another strategy going forward!

ROUND 3:
Lauren’s corner is looking on and worried, especially when her speed and agility begin to get compromised. Mayberry’s still moving fast and light, shooting jabs at Breslin’s head and being the antithesis of what her past stablemates have done. Will it be enough to overcome Breslin, though? Several shots land off Abigail’s forehead and body, but the blonde’s guard is ever firm and unshakeable, and she begins responding with powerful straight hands, shocking Mayberry to the center of her arms, further shoving her back upon impact. Mayberry grimacing and grunting as she gets bullied across the ring, and no amount of return fire is slowing Abigail down. Breslin slowly tightening the noose, methodical jabs and combos fired at Lauren to herd her into one of the corners, before flying at her with a torrent of punches and attacks. Mayberry’s getting OVERWHELMED, her head hidden in her arms but even those aren’t enough to stop Breslin from blasting her across the guard once, twice, then reaching behind to slam a third hook into the side of her face! OUCH! LAUREN GOES CRASHING into the ropes, looking absolutely stunned! She has mere moments to spin back around before Breslin NAILS her one last time with a hook to the face, AND DOWN SHE GOES!! Mayberry SPUN on her heels before hitting the ground hard, and the poor singer lies there by the ropes, utterly unmoving and OUT COLD!! Referee doesn’t bother with a ten-count and immediately signals for the medical team’s attention! It’s OVER!

Official Decision: Abigail Breslin defeats Lauren Mayberry via KO3!

AFTER:
Ouch. A valiant attempt from the Scot but Breslin is just too physical and the end result shocks nobody in attendance as Abigail dominates and knocks the petite brunette out in 3 short rounds.

Dollhouse corner rushing in to revive their fighter as Breslin celebrates around the ring with her arms raised and a big smile.

“Well that’s two Dolls down…” Abigail smiles as she’s interviewed on her way out of the arena. “If Roberts or Ziegler want a shot, I’ll make some time to deal with them too. I actually have a score to settle with Emma from few years back, so… if she doesn’t chicken out, you might just get to see me knock her out before the year is over.” Breslin chuckles, waving to her fans before disappearing to the backstage, leaving yet another poor Flyweight Doll in ruins behind her.
