Intro:
It's main event time! For the first time in their careers Romee Strijd and Josephine Skriver share a ring together. What an occasion to do it with the BBU welterweight title on the line. Josephine has been a dominant champion since winning the title last year, will Romee be the woman to dethrone her?

The bout itself is going to take place on Jumeirah Beach in Dubai. The night before the bout, there was a press conference in a hall of one of the biggest hotels near the beach. Both women were dressed to the nines as they stepped into the room and walked separately down a red carpet to where tables were set up. There is metal fencing holding press and select V.I.P fans behind.

First down the red carpet came Romee wearing a red dress that showed off her impressive legs. She blew kisses as she looked excited for this face off. Getting to the end of the carpet on the platform with her hands on her hips as she awaits her opponent.

The champion now walks down the carpet wearing a white dress with matching heels. The title around her right shoulder as she nods and smiles to those around her. The demeanor changes as she gets into the platform, stepping onto it with both women squaring up as the press get their first set of photos. Next they pose with fists raised with a grin as they look excited for this up coming fight.

Moving apart to go to their side of the stage. A podium is brought up onto the stage between them. Romee is then asked to speak first as she nods politely to the BBU committee member before walking to the podium to give her thoughts on this contest.

"This was a little bit of a nice surprise for me. I have had some good results and I do deserve this shot. When the chances don't seem to come at a world title, well you do start to wonder when they will come. Josephine rung me up directly as we know each other well to make the challenge and as you see, I accepted with open arms this chance to be a champion" says Romee as she nods to the press.

She then says in a stern tone "while I am thankful that Josephine gave me the title shot, I will not be simply turning up to be grateful and let her knock me out. I am here for one thing and you are carrying it around your shoulder. I'll make my family, friends and my stable proud after all the hard work I have put in." Moving away to her side of the stage with eyes firmly on the belt itself.

Josephine raises the title above her head so Romee can see who holds it to send an early message to her challenger. Heading to the podium moments later with the title placed onto it. Josephine tells the crowd "I want to start off by saying that I respect Romee, hence why I gave her that call. She does deserve this chance at me for this title." Romee nods along in agreement.

Of course Romee isn't as keen to nod along when Josephine adds "but don't think I am going to let you rip this title off me. I have beaten champions since I won this title, you may become a world champion someday, it won't be at my expense Romee." Grabbing the title to walk over to her challenger. Holding it in her right hand in the air, Romee staring at it and not at Josephine. Who whispers "if you keep your eyes on that come fight night I am knocking you out."

Romee's attention firmly turns to Josephine. Both women going nose to nose, a few words are exchanged as both let the other know they will be going home empty handed. Their managers step on the stage to get them apart before things kick off between these two leggy stunners. Leading them off the stage as it is clear how important the title is.

Fighting time! The ring posts have been set up into the beach itself. Bleachers have been set up on opposite sides of the ring with people with enough money to afford tickets to this bout.

First to come to the ring comes Romee with her coach Melanie Brown. Romee is wearing a light blue bikini with matching gloves, her hair is tied into a ponytail. She looks focused as she climbs into the ring. Romee takes a moment to give the crowd a wave but is bouncing on her toes moments later with a hard look to her gorgeous face.

Josephine now begins her walk to the ring with her coach Taryn Terrell holding the title up in the air. Taryn handing the title to the referee as Josephine steps into the ring. The champion is wearing a red bikini with white gloves, her hair tied into a ponytail too. She shuts her eyes and takes a breath to cool any butterflies she has.

The referee holds up the title before waving both fighters to the middle of the ring. The fighters eye each other up with a stern look. Once the instructions are done they do touch gloves with a little extra force then maybe needed. Walking back to their corners with last second advice being given to them. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of BBU welterweight title bout action.

Round 1:
"Ding!" Both come out exchanging around the middle of the ring. Several of their punches hit the others gloves due to their reach being similar if not the same. It's Romee who lands the first meaningful combo as she drills in a jab/straight into the forehead of the champ. Trying to come forwards though she gets caught with a short left cross to her cheek as both give the other a taste of what they can do.

Josephine lands a few shots into the chest of Romee as she tries to back her up. Problem is she misses with a right cross as the Dutch fighter leans out the way, instead a left counter hook lands on Josephine's chin to twist her head. Romee turning on the jets as she starts to whack in several clean punches to the face of the champ to back her off.

Controlling the middle of the ring now. Romee has Josephine moving around near the ropes. Romee keeping her opponent back with several two and three punch combos. Josephine is more protective as she just throws mostly single punches back. The round comes to a close with both women knowing they could be in for a hard bout. Romee is understandably the happier looking after grabbing control of the round.

Round 2:
Kicking up sand as they duke it out towards the middle of the ring. They have moved in a little closer to work at midrange. The cracks of leather on cheeks and sometimes on arms ring out. Josephine starts to bury in more punches around the torso of Romee to try to wear her down as the challenger focuses trying to batter the face of Skriver.

A little nudge by Josephine with her left opens up Romee to a straight down the pipeline into her face. Romee finding herself knocked back into a neutral corner. Josephine swinging in hooks that are testing the head of Romee, who has to hold onto her to get her way out the corner. The referee pushing them apart so Romee can get into space.

They resume with Romee looking to come back at Josephine. They exchange flurries of punches as they are opening up more. At times they miss and end up bumping bodies, holding onto each other. The referee certainly being used now to push them apart. The bell rings to end the round. Josephine tapping her gloves together as she sits on her stool.

Round 3:
Back out they come with eyes locked as they are both trying to push the other back with pounding jabs. Stepping inside with hooks to each others bodies with both heard grunting as they are nearly a mirror match physically. Josephine trying to nudge back Romee again but eats a looping right hook on her jaw to turn her head.

Romee uses the opening to back off Josephine with a four punch combo into her face. Josephine having to fight off her back foot with a few hooks coming back at the challenger. Romee keeping her head as she moves her upper body more, thrusting straight punches through to the face of Skriver to snap it back.

Need to clinch up with Romee; Josephine looks annoyed as both land kidney shots after the Danish fighter starts it. Referee warning them both after they are broken up. Romee looking to keep the heat on Josephine in the last twenty five seconds, gets caught though with a jab/straight through her mitts to her face to remind her not to try charging through the champ. They exchange a few flurries in the dying moments before the round comes to an end. Both sitting on their stools staring intensely across the ring at each other, waiting for the next round to begin.

Round 4:
Back out they come with more punches being exchanged as they go toe to toe, digging their toes into the sand more as they swing in their punches. Romee goes for an uppercut that is spotted and dodged by the champ. Instead Josephine lands a straight right into the temple of her opponent to knock her back a step. Romee finding herself driven backwards into the ropes by another three punch straight combo into her face. With Josephine whacking away at her body when she is pinned to those ropes.

After a clinch forces them to be split up. Romee looking to come back at Josephine with straight shots but gets caught with a left hook as Josephine slips a straight. The Danish fighter seems to have found her rhthym as she is boxing back Romee around the outside part of the ring. Romee doing her best to fire back but getting hit with more then she is landing.

Romee late in the round catches Josephine with a left cross as Josephine leaves her right too low. Romee steps inside to ram in several punches into the body of her rival to try cutting her down as she now pins her to the ropes. The round comes to an end with both having a tense stare down before walking back to their corners, letting their opponent know they are not going anywhere.

Round 5:
They resume with marks on their beautiful faces. Drilling punches around the cheeks. Romee trying to be more aggressive between the fighters but is getting clipped with cross punches around her cheeks. Romee returns fire with a few clean jab/straight punches when she moves more on the outside of her opponents reach.

Looking to step in with a left cross; Romee gets caught with a jab on her nose as Josephine blocks the cross punch, an uppercut follows to knock her onto her heels. JOSEPHINE COMING FORWARDS WITH A LEFT/RIGHT HOOK COMBO THAT SENDS ROMEE STUMBLING ONTO HER BACK!

The Skriver supporters are roaring as she raises her arms in the air and stares at the downed Romee, getting nudged to the neutral corner so the count can begin. 1....2....3.... Romee turns to her front with a shake of her head. 4....5....6... Romee pushes up to her haunches, taking a breath. 7....8... Romee gets up to her feet with a nod to the referee that she is ok, fists raised and after getting her gloves wiped down, she is allowed to continue.

Back at it they go as Josephine looks to finish things now. Problem for her is Romee still has her legs under her as she drills in several jabs back into the face of Josephine to knock her head back. Josephine lands several cross punches late in the round as she slips a straight. The bell dings to end the round with Romee telling herself "come on you dumb bytch" as she is upset at being put down on the sand. Josephine gets a nod from Taryn as she sits on her stool, knowing that's a huge round for her.

Round 6:
Josephine looks to have the bit between her teeth as she is starting to step in more to land her punches. Romee is finding herself being moved around the outside part of the ring. The challenger firing in several cross punches off her back foot to not let Skriver have it all her own way.

A double jab catches Romee onto her nose to cause a trickle of blood to run from it. Josephine landing a few hooks over the top to force Romee to clinch up. The fighters exchanging kidney shots till the referee can split them up. When they resume it's an annoyed Strijd who catches out Skriver with a straight into her face, followed by a left cross.

Both digging their toes in to slug it out on the inside as Romee bodies up to Josephine. They end up holding again as they try to wrestle each other to the ropes. The referee earning their wage here as they step in to push them apart. The final moments of the round sees both going toe to toe, Romee hissing each time her nose gets caught.

The round ends with both coated in sweat. Sitting on their stools moments later with their chests rising faster as the pace of this contest is starting to show. Romee gets a telling off by Melanie, who bluntly tells her she is throwing this away unless she gets her head screwed on.

Round 7:
Back at it they go with eyes firmly locked behind their guards. Romee ducking down more to stab her punches into the abs of her opponent. Josephine drilling hers down into the forehead of Romee to try to back her off as both try to push the other around.

An overhand left catches Josephine on her chin to send sweat flying. Josephine finding herself muscled back into the ropes. Romee whacking away with several power punches, including a few uppercuts that have Josephine whining. The champion holding onto her challenger to slow her assault. They are split up to continue fighting.

Both women moving around the middle of the ring firing punches square into each others faces. Josephine looks frustrated by the resilience of the challenger as they nearly bump heads when stepping in with hooks. The bell rings to end proceedings with Romee marching over to her corner looking fired up. Josephine is being told not to let this round get to her.

Round 8:
They push back to their feet with sweat dripping off their brows. Digging their feet into the sand as they swing in their punches. Cheeks reddened up on both women as they send sweat flying off their opponent when they land in close range.

A straight catches Josephine on her chin to knock her head back. A left cross follows to turn the head of the champion as she tries to swing back. Back goes Skriver towards the ropes as she swings back with hooks. An uppercut though snaps back the head of Josephine. ROMEE IS THROWING IN HOOKS THAT ARE CAUSING JOSEPHINE TO SAG INTO THE ROPES! A LEFT HOOK SENDS JOSEPHINE DOWN ONTO HER LEFT SIDE!

Romee walks over to the neutral corner with her arms out at her side as she gets a loud cheer from her supporters. 1....2....3... Josephine turns to her front. 4....5....6... Josephine trying to push to her feet. 7....8... Her arms go from under her and she lands flat on her face in the sand. 9....10 it's all over! Josephine is counted out!

Winner and New BBU welterweight champion Romee Strijd KO Round 8

After:
Romee raises her arms in the air with a few tears of joys as she finally has achieved her dream of becoming a world champion. Melanie steps into the ring and walks to Romee, putting her right arm around her back as she tells her "you did it honey. You deserve this."

They walk back to their corner with Romee getting a loud chant for her. She blows kisses to the crowd as she takes in the crowds love. Romee sits on her stool taking in her achievement here. Getting her gloves taken off and wiped down by her corner crew.

All the while Josephine needs helped up to her stool by Taryn and the doctor. Josephine is checked over and after a minute, she seems to be pulled back around to reality. Josephine looks down at the canvas as her title reign is over. After fourteen months of holding the gold.

Josephine can't bring herself to get up when the fighters are asked to come to the center of the ring. Instead she watches Romee getting the title wrapped around her waist and her left hand raised in victory. Romee tapping the title with her hands as she looks at it like a proud mother.

While the former champion is helped out the ring. Josephine walking to the changing tents with her eyes down as she is gutted by this loss. It will be interesting to see how they get her over this defeat. Taryn telling her that she'll be back on top before she knows it.

In the ring Romee walks around the ring to show off her title as she poses in each corner. Melanie applauding her as this moment means so much to them. The party will be long and hard as Romee steps out the ring with her coach. Melanie rubs the title belt as she says "best to get the stink of the former champion" with a laugh. The division is now under Strijd's control.
