Intro:
We kick off tonights BBU Crossover pay per view bonanza with a clash of Hollywood stars. The ACB's Isla Fisher and the BBU's Rooney Mara meet in the ring for the first ever time. Will it be the Australian based organisation kicked off this event with a win or will a home based fighter start us off with a win?

The fighters themselves kept mostly to themselves in the build up. BBU TV's Denise Van Outen looked over both fighters recent records, Isla is on a two fight win streak after defeating Kym Valentine and upsetting Sylvie Meis, though she last saw action back in 2020.

Something that would have also been a fact for Rooney if not for her recent action. She defeated her big sister Kate three years ago, before losing to Andrea Botez last month in a little bit of a shock. It was only Andreas second ever fight and her first was a loss, is there any mental damage for Rooney as literally that was Friday just gone.

It's time to find out as it is fighting time! First through the curtain comes Isla wearing a red sports bra with a red set of trunks with gold trim, matching shoes, her gloves are red with gold thumbs and her hair is tied into a braid. She steps into the ring with her coach Holly Valance. Holly nodding with a smile that Isla has this one in the bag.

Here comes Rooney with her usual icy cold stare aimed at the ring and her coach following her. Rooney is wearing her typical black sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her hair is in a ponytail as she climbs through the ropes into the ring. She looks a little tense, maybe showing some discomfort boxing so soon after a defeat.

The referee of course brings the fighters to them. Rooney scowls at Isla as the redhead looks excited for this fight. They both return to their corners after a quick touch of gloves are exchanged. The bell rings once both are ready to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
Out come the fighters with both exchanging a few quick fire combos. Eyes locked behind their guards as they bounce on their toes. Isla looks the more keener to engage in the opening moments. Spiking Rooney with a few clean punches into her face, taking a few cross punches back in return.

Slipping a jab; Isla lands a right cross to the cheek of her opponent, followed by a left hook to the body. Isla now comes forwards with a few more hooks before she backs off when she is clipped by a left across her jaw. Rooney taking the time to reset but Fisher continues to hassle her with straight shots.

It does look like that defeat is still playing on Mara's mind as she isn't letting her hands go enough to disrupt her opponent. Isla looking more relaxed as they exchange, outworking the raven haired fighter. The round ends with a solid start for the Aussie. Rooney taps her own cheeks as she sits on her stool, almost a wake up call to herself.

Round 2:
Rooney is more aggressive out the blocks, smacking Isla with several left crosses to mark up the cheek of the redhead. Isla lands several solid jabs in return as she looks to move around Rooney. Who lands a right cross onto the cheek of Fisher to open her up to a left hook onto the chin.

Now it's Isla looking a little trigger happy. Rooney is more then happy to take the lead in this nasty dance as she buries in her fists to the torso of Isla to pin her against the ropes. Isla needing to nudge her off so she can escape into space to work away.

It's clear though this time that Rooney is happy to take a hit to land two of her own. Isla covering up more as she is herded around the ring, soon being knocked back against the ropes by an uppercut through her guard. The bell dings to end proceedings with Rooney looking more relaxed, while Isla listens to her coach as they aren't impressed by what happened.

Round 3:
Taking the lead more; Rooney is marking up both cheeks on Isla. The Aussie needing to try to double up her jab to hold off the American. Rooney though keeps landing cross punches around to smack the side of Isla's head to shake it around. Making the older woman give up space to Mara.

A double jab catches Rooney flush on her forehead to knock her head back. Isla showing fight as she comes after Rooney, who holds onto her to slow her down. Both petite battlers grapple a little before being pushed apart. Resuming with Rooney catching Isla with a jab/straight combo into her face.

There's a cut on the bottom lip of Isla from a right cross, she looks less sure about this as more punches sail through her guard into her face. Rooney not too bothered by what's coming her way as confidence has certainly switched around since the first round. The bell rings with both walking to their corners with different demeanors. Isla is told by Holly to get her head into the game.

Round 4:
The pep talk looks to have worked as Isla is back up on her toes slinging in two punch combos at range, looking to move after she throws to not be in the firing line. Rooney by the looks of it thought she had broken Isla, leading to her making mistakes and is now being punished for it as straight punches land square into her face.

Rooney catches Isla with a left cross as she works to pin her down. Both exchanging in close as Rooney steps inside, Isla showing resilience to fight back in close. They end up clinched up again, cheeks touching as they try to muscle each other onto the ropes. Broken up so they can continue fighting.

Isla is starting to put together some crisp combos but is also being caught with straight punches through to her face. Soon the round comes to an end with both women walking to their corners marked up but looking keen to fight.

Round 5:
Back out they come and Rooney soon dips under a jab/straight combo, coming up with an uppercut that rocks Isla to her heels. Pounding punches slam into Isla's face to knock her head backwards. A RIGHT HOOK ON HER TEMPLE ROCKS ISLA! A FOLLOW UP RIGHT HOOK SENDS HER DOWN ONTO HER FRONT!

Rooney jogs to the neutral corner tapping her gloves together. 1....2....3... Isla cries out as she shakes her head. 4....5... Moving towards the ropes on her hands and knees, 6....7... Isla is too dazed to pull herself up as she rests her head on the bottom rope, right arm hanging over the middle rope. 8....9....10 that's it for this fight!

Winner Rooney Mara KO Round 5

After:
That's how you overcome a recent defeat. Rooney raises her arms into the air before she walks over to Isla, kneeling next to her to check if she will be ok. Isla takes the help to get to her feet, both women embracing as there was no ill feeling between them before the fight and after it looks plenty of respect.

Helped onto her stool; Isla nods with a smile to Rooney as a thank you. Holly taps Rooney on her back before the winner walks back over to her corner to be hugged by her coach. Rooney smiling as it looks like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders.

Both women get patched up as Isla winces from her bottom lip being patched up. Isla soon leaves the ring, waving to the crowd as she gets cheered. Isla probably regrets not being in the ring more often these past few years. It will be intriguing if she sees more action now.

In the ring Rooney gets her right arm raised in victory. She nods to the crowd and thanks the fans for their support. Soon enough leaving the ring with her coach by her side. Can she get momentum going forwards or will her reputation of being a dangerous opponent continue to stifle her chances to get fights?
