BEFORE: American model Jena Frumes fell to Maki Itoh on her debut back in May but she vows to bounce back against the Australian actress Rhiannon Fish who carries a six-fight winning streak despite not really being talked about as a serious contender in the division. Obviously flyweight is notoriously crowded and while Rhiannon has beaten some quality names over the years, she kinda lacks that signature elite scalp on her resume to trigger a sustained media hype in the process.

Jena Frumes wears a red bikini set & silver gloves. Long dyed blonde hair in loose curls. Rhiannon Fish wears a light blue bandeau bikini set & silver gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Jena didn't come to Queensland to sit back and wait for the local girl to do her thing so she powers ahead with the initial jabbing effort before booming a right hook straight into the brunette's lips. Ugh! Rhiannon gets stuck on her heels right there and struggles to respond to the American's power drive that follows and subsequently dominates the opening minute. Jena means business and Rhi learns it the hard way before she manages to clinch the tourist in blatant fashion. Jena still wrestles her back to the ropes where she breaks free against the referee's will and whacks a low shot into the brunette's stomach that results in more acute moaning from the local woman. Jena sticks more leather upstairs knocking Rhi's head back & forth until she shuts her down behind a desperate earmuff to close out the round.

Round 2:
Rhiannon roars back into response but finds Jema coming straight at her to trigger a hectic slugging exchange to please the audience. This gets even better for the partisan fans when Fish smacks the model on the rack and drops more body shots to catch her off guard before a nifty uppercut knocks the American onto the ropes. Jena looks vulnerable for the first time tonight but she escapes the Aussie trap along the ropes and forces Rhiannon to chase her around the ring during the second minute. It's a chaotic display from both women but that helps Fish to find her rhythm after that poor opener and Frumes realizes too late she has to stay on the gas so Green & Gold's commentator Sarah Cumming claims it's a round for the home corner!

Round 3:
Jena finds her slugging tempo to open the third but Rhiannon settles in to work the overhand response and thump the US tourist with sufficient accuracy during another back & forth tussle in the opening minute. Both women seek that crippling series but it's not that easy to find it among the flyweights but their punching desire gives the fans something to scribble on despite mediocre execution in the process. Jena eventually lands the superior combo on the chin and begins to grind Fish down onto the ropes where the Aussie actress has to apply a clinching stalemate which makes Frumes extremely vocal once the referee separates them at the bell.

Round 4:
Lioness coach Mel B. wants Rhi to step on it and the local favorite answers the demand by blasting the American model from both flanks however she only manages to flush her into retreat after a heavy hook cuts a small gash across the nasal ridge. Jena refuses to back off at first but then starts to soak up too many of these quick punches and struggles to live with the brunette's tempo upgrade. She still spins away from close range thanks to some nifty footwork but then she decides to throttle it anyway and gets thumped back to the corner with Rhiannon working on top gear to smash more bruising strikes into the blonde's face. Ugh! Frumes looks worse to wear after that exchange and cuts a frustrated figure during the interval.

Round 5:
Rhiannon scores the overhand lay-ups to take advantage of Jena's visible frustration but still eats a hard left hook on the nose which allows the US tourist to rattle her around in the opening minute. Frumes finds the early slugging edge and drives in more leather on target but she can't quite throw the Aussie actress off her comfort zone. Fish accepts the back & forth exchange and lands in enough counter-punches to make Jena gurgle in anger which only ups the striking rate come the final minute. Both women struggle with precision though and bounce off each others' forearms before Jena whacks the brunette on the chin and shouts in delight over at Mel B. in the Lioness corner. It was a single power punch there but one can understand a newcomer like Frumes could get excited over anything so early in her celebrity boxing career.

Round 6:
Jena channels more slugging action and tries to knock the brunette's head off but just can't land that ultimate back-breaker while Rhiannon mauls her with the counter-punching response and leaves another bloody gash under the left eye before a booming right hook catches the US model on the nose and sinks her on the heels. Ugh! Jena tries to swing from that position and simply cannot make it count while Fish tees off to plug more leather instead and begins to run away with the noteworthy punches. Jena soaks up a head-hunting drive that appears to hurt her as she stumbles back to the ropes where she eats more venom from point-blank range. Rhiannon isn't the hardest flyweight puncher out there but the sheer number of her strikes leaves the US tourist choking on pain and unable to reply in meaningful fashion while Fish tacks on all the wrath she can before the bell halts her progress.

Round 7:
Frumes looks gassed to open the seventh and Rhiannon quickly works her over to the ropes where she tears it up to knock her head around before she ignores the earmuff cover and whacks the ailing blonde with a vicious harpoon on the exposed navel. Ugh! Jena slumps into more spasms and takes more low hits on the midriff which take all the steam out of her resistance and she TAKES A KNEE amid a wild roar from the Queensland fans. Rhiannon struts back to her corner but her job is not done here as the US tourist climbs back upright at seven and claims she can still mount a comeback... alas she can't as the Aussie actress mauls her with more body shots that keep her pinned to the ropes. She can't even lock a clinching delay and gets pounded into yelping disarray before she DROPS TO HER KNEES AGAIN and spits out her gumshield trying to catch more air into her lungs. The ref has seen enough and waves the fight off. KO7 Rhiannon Fish!!!

AFTER: Rhiannon's hot streak continues but she's unlikely to be selected for The Ashes series if her Lioness stablemate Cheryl Cole makes the England team. That's not exactly a huge problem for the former 'Home & Away' actress who claims she's got enough on her table to keep striking that hot iron despite lack of media hype.

Meanwhile Jena learns another tough free agency lesson even though she looked more serviceable compared to her debut. 0-2 start is not the end of the world and there are some tools she can work with including that natural aggression which should overcome many of her peers if she plans her schedule right according to Sarah Cumming.
