Before: “I have wanted this fight for a LONG time,” says Ruby Rose at the pre-fight presser. Sure Swanepoel is taller than me, but that’s just it. I want to prove that can take down tall, slener girls like her. I believe I can work my way in close and finish her off.”
“I think she’ll it a whole lot harder to get in close with me. My reach is good enough to make to her pay big time for trying to come in on me. Oh, she may not believe me now, but I’ll be proving it to her in the ring.”
Ruby Rose remains unconvinced: “She’s wrong and I intend to prove it!”
Ruby came to the ring in a shiny black one piece swimsuit with black gloves and boots, Short hair wetted down. Candice appeared in white bikini (black trim on the bikini top) White gloves and boots with black laces. Candice’s blonde air in a perky ponytail. The ring instructions are tense and there is sharp slap of the gloves during the “tap”. Then they go to their corners and the bell rings.
R1: Ruby goes straight in on Candice as the fight commences. Ruby managing to get under the longer armed Swanepoel and pounding away at her to the body. Candice being bent at the waist by this sustained pounding, She does manage to strike at Ruby to the sides of her head. Ruby trying to ignore these head shots but then her body attack starts to falter. Candice manages to rattle Ruby with a sneaky right uppercut to the chin. Ruby falls back a few steps, but quickly returns to the attack. Candice fighting back, but a the bell, the judges give it to Rub Rose by a narrow margin.
R2: Ruby Rose again presses in close and concentrates her leather on the model’s ribcage and stomach. Candice struggling to stay upright despite the bombardment of her abs. Again she attacks the sides of Ruby; head and she now is getting more power into these counters. Ruby forced to fall back with her head ringing from Candice’s blows. She tries to come back in, but gets belted hard to the chin and jaw. Ruby stubborn, she keeps pressing forward and finally goes get some more hooks into Candice, but she’s been badly banged up in the process. Candice emerges the narrow winner of this round and she’s got Ruby Rose returning to her corner on rubbery legs.
R3: Candice Swanepoel takes the offensive. She moves out swiftly at the bell and starts going at Ruby Rose’s jaw, Ruby trying to get in closer to answer, desperately ducking and dodging, but she is getting her head swiveled each time she tries. Ruby comes to a dazed halt as the accumulated head punching impacts catch up with. Candice wastes no time, she crouches down and BLASTS uppercut into the underside of Ruby’s chin. DOWN GOES RUBY ROSE! Ruby’s feet fly out from under her as she is slammed to the canvas. Candice heads for the neutral corner. Ruby struggling to rise as the referee counts.
“EIGHT!... NINE!...TEN!...YOUR’RE OUT!” The official cries.
Ruby finally erect but she’s too late. Ruby bitterly disappointed she has to watch Candice’ arm raised in victory.
THE WINNER: CANDICE SWANEPOEL DEFEATS RUBY ROSE KO3!
After: “She was very determined to get at my midsection and I’m going to be needing ice packs on my abs,” says a happy Candice Swanepoel, “but I knew my superior reach would make the difference in the end. It happened a bit earlier than I expected, but I knew time was on my side.”
Ruby Rose unsurprisingly unhappy with the result: “I still think I could have been her. Maybe it was mistake to let use my head as punching bag, but I know I was hurting her to the body. I was going to finish up against her chin and jaw, but she got to mine first.”
Not too surprising a result. Ruby Rose certainly tried to her best, but going in close against Candice Swanpoel was just too costly for her. Good win for Candice who often seems overlooked by her Foxfire Boing managers. We’ll see if this win helps her in this regard. |
