BEFORE

Sarah Lancaster is at the podium. Nothing changes. Charlize is in her dressing room watching Sarah on the television. She will not appear at the podium. Sarah starts speaking. “I know Charlize is not going to join me at the podium. She prefers her competition to make a mistake in something they say rather than take the chance that she would be the one misspeaking. I really don’t have much to say, but I will tell you why I wanted this fight. Back in October 2009, I took the Unified Welterweight title by beating Amanda Righetti. As you all know that is not an easy task. Well, my first defense was against Charlize and she took the title from me by knocking out in two rounds. I wanted a rematch, but she trashed the title and went back to lightweight. She held more welterweight titles after that, but I never got a chance for revenge or take a title from her. Now this of course is not a title fight. I have great respect for Charlize, but I want to beat her just for the self satisfaction

THE FIGHT. Sarah is in the ring. She is wearing a green bikini with black gloves and boots. Her hair is hanging loosely around her shoulders. Charlize enters the ring and removes her robe to reveal to no one’ surprise her usual red bikini with red glove and boots, her hair in a ponytail. The referee gives them the usual instructions. They touch gloves and return to the their corners. In Theron’s corner, Kate Upton put the mouthpiece in her mouth and gives her a pat on the back, saying “Go get her”

Round 1; Charlize is quickly out of her corner ready to go on the attack. Unfortunately, old habits don’t work anymore. Sarah knows Charlize is coming at her with right jabs to open the fight. Theron wants to push her back into the ropes, but Sarah isn’t playing that game. Instead, she blocks the jab and goes to the body landing a right hook to the blondes midsection and left to her bra. Charlize tries the right jab again and takes another right-left to the body. Charlize backs off and moves back in wanting to slug. A right cross narrowly sails past Sarah and she sinks a right into Theron’s solar plexus. Theron stumbles away with Sarah following her and crowding her into the ropes. Charlize lands a right cross to Sarah’s head as Sarah goes to back to the body landing lefts and rights to the midsection. The blonde is bending in a crouch to avoid the body work and Sarah straightens her up with a right uppercut to the jaw as the round ends. In Theron’s corner, the Nascar corner is ready for her. Kate Upton tells Charlize “it’s pretty apparent that Sarah took the first round. She’s not trying for a knockout yet but she wants to take your legs away. Once she’s done that, she will go for the KO. You need to keep her as the distance. You got the power to KO without getting in close. Just keep her away from getting to your body” In Sarah’s corner, they are quite happy. That’s the way they planned this fight

Round 2. Once again, Charlize is quickly out of her corner. Sarah is letting the blonde come to her. When Charlize gets into punch range she cuts loose with a right cross. Sarah leans back letting the punch just miss.

Sarah then steps in and rips a right to Charlize’s stomach and a quick left-right to the bra. Charlize backs off and circles looking for an opening. Charlize moves in to throw an overhand right, but Sarah beats her to the punch with another left to the stomach and then a right uppercut the chin sending Charlize back a couple steps. Sarah follows with another left to Theron’s stomach and then an uppercut to her chin. Theron hits the ropes with Sarah following up. She is in close, head close to Theron’s shoulder punching away at the blondes body. Hook after hook lands in the midsection occassionaly moving up to pound into Theron’s bra. Charlize gets her hands on Sarah’s shoulders and starts to push her away with an uppercut lands on her chin and her legs buckle. She manages a clinch with Sarah and holds on until the referee separates them. Theron is now free of Sarah and away from the ropes. She backs off watching Sarah closely. She’s not going to let Lancaster get in close again. As the brunette moves in its not a Theron right jab that stops her, but a left that snaps her head back. The bell sounds. Charlize is breathing a little hard as she returns to her corner. She slumps onto her stool and the Nascar team goes to work giving extra attention to her legs. Upton tells Charlize “You have to stop her from going to your body. Right now you look OK, but you are breathing a little hard. You have to keep her at a distance. You still got the power and legs to do it. This will be round three and she has taken the first two rounds by a wide margin. It’s time you get serious.’

Round 3. They meet in the center of the ring. Charlize fakes that fight jab and then fakes the left. Sarah falls for the left and Charlize comes overhand right to Sarahs head knocking her back a few steps. Charlize cuts loose with another overhand right, but Sarah ducks and comes up with a right hook to the blonde’s solar plexus. Charlize staggers back and drops her guard to protect her body and Sarah lands another uppercut to the the Goddess’s chin. Charlize takes it and comes back with a right to Sarah’s head. Charlize has Sarah where she wants her. She wants to brawl, right down into Theron’s power. Charlize takes change and drives Sarah back to the ropes with left and right to her head. Sarah is desperate and finally lands a left and right to the blonde’s breasts stopping the attack as Charlize is in a little shock and wisely backs off. Sarah moves into the do a little slugging again going into Theron’s speciality. An overhand right from Charlize buckles her legs as the round ends. In Theron’s corner Upton says “Good job. You got her wanting to slug. That’s where we want her. Let her come to you and then lower the boom” In Sarah’s corner, the advise is just the opposite. Stay away and don’t go slugging and when you get the chance go back to her body. She can’t take to much there”

Round 4. The two leave their corners with opposite strategy. Charlize wants to close and slug. Sarah wants to stay away, but if she gets a chance, to suddenly close and go back to the body. Sarah is watching Charlize closely, moving to avoid the blonde. The action is slowing. It’s becoming a chess match. One moving, the other waiting and then avoiding each other. The crowd is getting a little restless. Charlize has had her guard high. She suddenly drops her arms, shaking her shoulder to loosen up. Sarah quickly takes advantage and moves in and starts punching away at the blonde’s body. She starts at the belly button and moves up to pound the ribs. Charlize tries to push her away but when she touches Sarah’s shoulders she gets a right to her chin. Sarah moves up to the midsection. She’s driving the blonde back to the ropes. Charlize manages a right cross, but it doesn’t stop the brunette as she moves up to her opponent’s chest where she knows Charlize is venerable.

Charlize finally manages a right to Sarah’s head as the bell rings bringing the Goddess some relief. In Theron’s corner Kate tells Charlize “You let her get inside again. You can’t do that. You have fought four rounds and lost three of them. You got a slight reach advantage. Use it. Go after her. When she tries to get close. it will be slugging time. That’s where you excel in this fight.” In Sarah’s corner they tell her good job, Keep it up. Don’t go for the KO unless Charlize isn’t moving well. A win by decision is a win”

Round 5. Charlize is slow out of the corner, but Sarah is being careful. She sees Charlize breathing hard. The body work has done its job. A little more body work and Theron will be ready to go. She closes and starts to go the the body when a Theron right uppercut lands on her chin. The blonde was faking. Charlize follows up a with hook the chin and a right upside Lancaster’s head. Sarah is hurt, but she goes to Theron’s body with a left-right to the midsection. The two are now toe to toe. Lancaster desperately going to the blonde’s body while Charlize is working on Sarah’s head and Charlize is getting the best of it as she drives Sarah into the ropes. Lancaster is now in big trouble as Charlize simply punches away. Sarah is starting to sag in the ropes. The referee steps in and looks at Sarah eyes. They look clear and he waves Charlize back in. Charlize is furious that the referee stepped in and cost her a knockout. The break allowed Sarah to get off the ropes. She is in the center of the ring, but not moving well. Charlize moves in to end it when the bell rings. “In Theron’s corner Upton tells her “Don’t mind the referee, he was just doing his job, but you now have her ready to go. She can’t take much more. You been in this situation more times than I have fights. You know what to do. If she is still half conscious, she will be looking for that big right hand. Your left doesn’t have the reputation of the right, but it is pretty strong. Use it.” In Sarah’ corner they tell she just has to stay away for the round. Avoid getting into a punching contest.

Round 6. Theron is hyped. She’s not going to let Lancaster avoid her. She’s moving quickly cutting down the ring as Lancaster tries to avoid her. She has Sarah trapped in a corner. Sarah has little punching room. Charlize moves in. Right cross to the head, left cross, right hook, left hook, right to the body. Sarah is again sagging in the ropes. Charlize sees the ref starting in so a big left to the chin drops Lancaster on her face. The count starts. At two, Sarah reaches out for the ropes. At five. she has pulled herself up to one knee and eight both knees are off and at nine she is up, but in terrible shape. The referee takes one look and waves Charlize back in. A left to the chin, then a right. An overhand right to the face, left to chin, right lands deeply in the solar plexus, Lancaster hands drop down as she sags helplessly, only the ropes holding her up. The referee steps in and pulls Charlize away and cradles Sarah to save her from more punishment. As Theron returns to her corner, Kate gives her a hug and says “for once you can meet the press with having a makeup artist working on you for an hour. Good job. We are proud of you. Neve listening gives Upton the thumbs up

AFTER

Charlize is In the press room. “ I had a nice conversation with Sarah in her dressing room. She feels completely beaten up and doesn’t want the press to see her. Actually, she’s gorgeous, but that is not how she feels and doesn’t want to be seen just now and doesn’t feel like talking. Believe me I know the feeling. I have been in that situation probably a couple hundred times even after a win. In a lot of my fights, I won, but got beaten up worse than my opponent. I didn’t want to face the press and I didn’t. I still would rather not face the press now after my opponent spent rounds trying rearrange my face, but it is part of the game like it or not. Please don’t misunderstand me, I am not putting the press down. Y’all have a job to do and you do it well. I am just expressing how you feel after a fight win or lose.”

BLONDE MAGAZINE. What’s your next fight?

Charlize:“I’m not sure. I know who my next two opponents will be, but I don’t know which of the two will be next. Management will tell me in a day or two.

HBO: “Everyone wants to know when you are going to fight Kate the Great again”

Charlize: “Why is everyone obsessed with me fighting Kate?”

HBO: “A lot of younger FCBA fans weren’t around in the early days. All they hear is “Charlize is the greatest”

They are tired of it. They want to see you lose, knocked out cold, even removed from the ring on a stretcher.

They want to hear about Swift, the Jenners, Righetti and yes Upton and not some blonde old enough to be their mother of even grandmother”

Charlize: “I really don’t know how to respond to that, Tess, where are you. Oh I see you. How about helping

an old lady here”

Tess: “You might say that Charlize and I work for the same outfit. I will say this, those same people who complain about Charlize being too old have no problem spending their money and flocking to the movies to see her kick butt in action movies like Atomic Blonde and the Old Guard. Somewhat inconsistent don’t you think?

Charlize: “There’s your answer. I have to go now so see you after the next PPV”
