Romee Strijd vs Melissa Satta
(Lioness Club vs FCBA Independent) (18-12, 18 KO vs 1-1, 1 KO) Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: Boston-born Melissa Satta believes she can still make some noise among the FCBA welterweights but she comes in as the underdog against Dutch prospect Romee Strijd who reportedly isn't best pleased over still being considered a B-level talent by some pundits. Apparently beating past-prime Bridget Regan and post-Asylum Charlotte McKinney - two of Romee's best results - doesn't inspire as much praise as one would have expected. Is Romee gearing up for a swing for the fences then? Maybe we get a clear answer after tonight's contest.
Romee Strijd wears a pink bikini set & white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a braid. Melissa Satta wears a navy blue bikini set & red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.
Round 1: Melissa makes the most of her opportunity and pounds away into the blonde's body in true swarming fashion leaving the Dutch model exposed upon impact. Some hard punches bounce into the blonde's midsection and she can't quite punish the Italian over the top which only allows Satta to smack her back onto the ropes where she has to apply the clinching brakes. Alas Melissa bangs her on the cleavage and keeps rolling out the slugging heat to the point she drops the blonde behind a tight earmuff and barks in delight when the crowd begins to chant her name. Uh-oh! A hard one-liner around the liver area almost decks Strijd for the count and the younger woman cuts a wounded figure anyway while the brunette cleans up more tummy to run away with a highly-impressive round overall.
Round 2: Romee moves in to deliver the overhand swing and she catches Melissa square on the nose before the Italian-American can resume the body assault again. The head-hunting attack stuffs the brunette in the center of the ring and she can't quite move around on her feet to avoid the point-blank range assault that gradually allows Strijd to assume full control of the ring action come the second minute. Melissa swings upstairs herself but keeps missing the target and gets shoved onto the ropes once Romee gets even more aggressive. The Dutch model pays back the early favor and traps the older woman in the corner where she laces her from both flanks and splits the high-guard with relative ease to knock Satta's ponytail around her neck. This charge keeps going until the bell; Melissa gives her team that angry WTF look afterwards while the Lionesses are ready for more progress.
Round 3: First exchange of the third and Melissa gets belted across the body which folds her forward to meet a crushing uppercut double.... woof... she rolls down the curtains but manages to stay upright... for like five seconds because Romee SMOKES her with a right hook on the jaw that sends the gumshield flying off into the stands! AND DOWN GOES SATTA crashing hard on her back and some fans in the front seats think she was out cold while mid-air already. Whatever! The ref quickly waves off the count when he realizes the Boston-born model is outta here! KO3 Romee Strijd!!!
AFTER: The Dutch model believes that highlight KO should make the social media headlines and refuses to admit she took down a low-hanging fruit: "Hey, Meliisa used to work in the same gym as Hannah Ferguson did, Front Street manager usually calls these girls "physical" which is a good thing in boxing, right? Don't tell me I can't beat any top names! I've got 19 wins under my belt now... just because I lost to Hilary Rhoda... twice... it doesn't mean I'm not a Top Ten candidate! Grr..."
Official Result: Romee Strijd def. Melissa Satta KO3. |
