Ch Brooklyn Decker vs Robyn Lawley
(Lioness Club of America vs Sceej Boxing)
(63-25, 51 KO vs 27-13, 27 KO)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: Brooklyn Decker's 2022 season was supposed to be all about a Best of 7 rivalry versus Hannah Ferguson but the opportunity to rise into welterweight & JMDD title picture took center stage in the last two months. The Ohio native beat two IBB fighters as well as Amanda Righetti but her second welter title defense offers a challenge against a genuine middleweight Robyn Lawley who finished the Diamond Boxing Tournament with a perfect 7-0 record. And that's not even the most impressive thing about the former Punchaholics Anonymous fighter. She's 16-1 in her last seventeen fights which means some bookies actually view her as a betting favorite.

Both women show each other plenty of respect during the introductions and one might sense the LCA entourage does think that Lawley is a more dangerous challenger than usual due to her size advantage but honoring the DBT result was a paramount choice in the end. Over in the stands we have Charlotte McKinney who has booked a Fight Night Live clash for Decker's other piece of silverware early next month. She's one person who'd love to see the fellow blonde battered as much as possible tonight!

Brooklyn Decker wears a green bikini set & white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Robyn Lawley wears a purple bikini set & black gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a half-up ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
One might argue both these models are power-oriented and the early action relies on single striking from mid-range to find out what sticks to the proverbial wall. Brooklyn almost teases Robyn to show some of that elite strenght but the challenger refuses to blink and circles around the champion which actually allows Decker to flex her muscles and outpoint the otherwise slow-moving Aussie. Lawley keeps it calm though and shrugs off the slow start even though Brooklyn shows more desire to land a noteworthy punch in the final minute when she backs the brunette onto the ropes but meets a stubborn high-guard that prevents her from making further progress.

Round 2:
Robyn begins to swing around with more poise but she only matches Brooklyn's production and the action is more than even until a left hook from the blonde catches the challenger on the jaw and wobbles her to the side. Huh! Bet Charlotte McKinney didn't punch as hard or what? Brooklyn duly adds more leather up the middle and knocks Lawley's head back; she ducks a wide heave over the top and digs low to punish the brunette's midsection while driving her onto the ropes in the process. Robyn applies a somewhat desperate clinch during the final stretch but Decker shakes it off and hammers another one-two on the jaw to leave the Aussie model fuming at the bell.

Round 3:
Robyn tries to step into a proper series but Brooklyn moves that split second faster and beats the Aussie to the initial punch; she cracks a left/right combo on the mouth and tees off to slam a left hook on the ear. Ugh! Lawley jumps away into mid-range which is a rare sight this season and simply opens the door for Brooklyn to drive in more clean hits on target. The champ rattles the dark ponytail around the area and manages to slice through the high-guard which results in a worrying cut across the brunette's nasal ridge. Lawley yells out in anger and deploys a slugging response but the blow-for-blow tirade ends when Decker simply NAILS her on the ear one time too many and wobbles forward to meet a crushing uppercut on the jaw that DROPS ROBYN ONTO HER KNEES!!! How about this then! The challenger hits the deck inside the last twenty seconds and needs a really slow count to eventually recover back to her feet just as the clock expires to save her from more trouble. However it's all Decker here after three and the LCA entourage is ready to bring this title defense home!

Rounds 4 & 5:
The only problem with the Lioness plan is that 'Godzilla' is wounded but not defeated and the put away drill actually drags Lawley back into the contest as she still punches hard leather into the blonde's face. Brooklyn feels like she can break the challenger's resilience at any time but she just can't land that all-important haymaker and has to settle for more artistic impression value as she rattles Robyn around the area. Not much changes in the fifth until Lawley applies a jug muggin' drill to open some space and allthough Decker is the current JMDD champion as well those hard shots kinda stuff her into a defensive position so Robyn takes over the jabbing command and pounds the blonde onto the ropes down the stretch. She clips more of the fellow model's jugs and lines one on the jaw to dump Brooklyn into louder spasms at the bell.

Rounds 6 & 7:
More steady punching from Lawley who has weathered the initial knockdown storm and lays some quick leather into the champion's face as the fight begins to take a durability & resistance turn which ought to suit both models regardless. Robyn for all the scorecards malaise still huffs & puffs her way into frustrating the Ohio model who suddenly can't really overpower the towering Aussie anymore. Lawley works more of that middleweight power supply after half-distance and even an elite veteran like Decker shows signs of fatigue and seeks repeated clinches come the seventh round. Robyn sticks more leather into her rack before pounding away at the midsection to slump the blonde into outright spasms at the bell. LCA coach Claudia Schiffer doesn't worry much about the scorecards but Robyn can still turn this fight seemingly with a single punch.

Round 8:
Challenger time to flex 'em muscles and Robyn roars into early slugging series that breaks Brooklyn's resistance much faster than most fans expected. A couple of hard hits tears a small gash across the nasal ridge and Lawley simply beats the blonde for more head shots thereafter; the Decker guard collapses by the wayside and it's a small miracle the champion avoids a knockdown as she's being pummelled from both flanks and ends up hugging the ropes come the two-minute mark. Lawley aims for title glory but only adds to the blonde's swelling as she gashes her face into significant swelling before another clinching attempt comes to the rescue. Robyn hammers a couple of shots on the older model's kidneys and shoves her back to her corner at the bell showing more raw strenght as we head into the ninth...

Round 9:
Brooklyn tries to bide her time in mid-distance but runs out of gas and the Aussie brunette traps her in close range and powers ahead to smack more leather into that swollen face. Ugh! Decker tries to swing back over the top but only finds thin air while 'Godzilla' breaks looks with a right hook that almost shatters the champion's jaw upon impact. That's the one punch that finally does Decker in! She goes all shimmy shake with a loud "Oh, gawd" whimper and half-spins FACE DOWN ON THE CANVAS!!! There it is!!! The New South Wales brunette finally cashes in on the alleged size & raw power advantage as there is no way back for the exiting champion. Brooklyn can only get up onto all fours when the merciless count passes her by!!! KO9 and the NEW unified welterweight champion Robyn 'The Godzilla' Lawley!!!

AFTER: All hail the new Queen who claims her 14th victory in a row and secures revenge over the Midnight Hour Boxing loss to Decker back in March 2020. There was a time when Lawley nursed an eight fight losing streak but that's all history and Sceej Boxing is back at the championship table which fuels Scrubby McGee's social media ouburst of joy: "Live & exclusive from the ring...", more on that later as Robyn parades around the ring with her gloves on the hips before actually helping Brooklyn to get up: "Hey, at least you still own the JMDD title. I'll let you have it!" (laughs). The former champion is kinda too dizzy to realize if the brunette was speaking out of heart or simply mocking her but the LCA attention switches to the upcoming JMDD title defense where Charlotte McKinney will be licking her chops now that she's caught the fellow blonde off a bad loss.

Official Result: Robyn Lawley def. Ch Brooklyn Decker KO9.
