Nina Agdal vs Kelly Rohrbach (Lightweight Title)

Nina:

BEFORE:
Lots at stake here for both competitors, but some would say that the champion Nina Agdal has made a bold (or foolish) decision to put her title up against someone who’s beaten her twice already.

For Kelly Rohrbach, the irony is delicious, with the former Vixen and now fully fledged Lioness milking the moment in the early press conference:

“And here poor Nina comes again, to get her ass kicked,” Kelly says from the table, drawing laughter from the room. “Twice wasn’t enough for you huh, babe?”

“I went nine rounds with you last time,” the champ says from across the table, looking cross. “I’ll make it across the finish line this time, especially with the title on the line.”

“So it takes a title belt to motivate you to win, huh?” Kelly retorts with a sly grin. “Someone give this girl another belt to hang around her waist. She’s going to need it tonight.”

Loads of animosity here and the air is electric when the two blondes meet on the stage and lock eyes. It’s not just the fact that this will be their third encounter in the ring, but there’s also deep-seated unease for Kelly’s release from the stable, and for keeping Nina on the roster instead.

Nina, of course, pointing it out, shoving her title belt into Kelly’s face at every opportunity, till Rohrbach rolls her eyes, scoffs out loud, and SMACKS the champion across her face with an open hand! Nina looks stunned for a moment, but immediately throws a hand of her own back, but it’s intercepted by Kelly! And the two blondes lunge for each other’s hair and clothes, squealing and shrieking on the stage!

In the melee, Kelly takes a fist shoved into her body, which bowls her over, but she pulls Nina down with her and the two girls go tumbling over the side of the stage. Only after the ring officials rush in to pry them apart, do they compose themselves and head to their backstage doors, still shooting the other girl hard glares from across the room.

Hours later, the fighters are in full fighting attire: Kelly in a dark blue bikini with gold trimmings, holding up red gloves and gesturing for Nina to bring it on. In the other corner, Nina is also in a multi-coloured bikini, pink and baby blue patches on either side. She holds up black gloves and gets into her own fighting stances.

Referee brings this title match to order, and holds up the Unified Lightweight belt to the audience. There goes the bell and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
Good brawling action throughout the first, with blondes getting into the thick of it and shoving leather into each other’s faces. Nina and Kelly - neither backing down - torquing hooks into the cheek and chin, Nina snapping at an early uppercut into the chin but then taking a hard hook across her own, as they toss the other girl about. Nina, however, is pushing in, avoiding another hook before planting a fist into Kelly’s midsection, knocking the air out of her. Kelly’s swinging away, sure, but doesn’t expect the champ to be so slippery, finds her hooks missing or taking on the arms in the final minute, then getting her face banged to the side as Nina rises with a right hand across the cheek, another landing to send the challenger packing for now. Wide round to the Vixen, though it’s still too early to declare victory.

ROUND 2:
Kelly returns with her own vengeance, slamming an early combo into Nina’s arms before shocking the champ with a hook of her own across her temple. Nina is surprised by her speed, mouth hanging open and struggling to stabilize herself. Both blondes may have the similar build and make-up, but Kelly’s slightly bulkier, allowing the Lioness to plant her hips and power those hooks into Nina’s arms, headhunting the champ towards the ropes. Agdal has to stay away for the rest of the round, bobbing and jabbing at the incoming challenger. She scores a couple to Kelly’s face, but gets mostly chased back this round to even the odds.

ROUND 3:
Nina catches Kelly with another low blast to the breadbasket, having thrown a feint high to the head before dipping low and drilling that right hand straight in and under the arms. Kelly grunts, eyes bulging for a sec, but quickly lowers her guard to protect her body instead. Fine by Nina, who chases her back with several jabs to the lips and nostrils instead, but after Kelly gets out of range, resets into her regular pattern. Kelly spends the rest of the round trying to play catch up, employing the same tactics as her rival: left jabs sent to the head, then swinging a hook low to take revenge on Agdal’s body, to no avail. Nina wiser, keeping her body tight and feet moving, managing to avoid most of Kelly’s attacks, then punishing her back with snappy jabs into the lips and cheek. Kelly’s obsession with vengeance leaves her open to attack, and Nina happily exploits all the way to the bell, slamming another hook into her ribs and then shocking the challenger with a straight prod to the belly.

ROUND 4:
Kelly’s seething, obviously, knows she can beat Nina after having done it twice before, confident she can do it a third time and strip that belt off her inferior waste. She rushes Nina down at several instances, throwing caution to the wind and using aggression swings and flurries to make the champ back away into a corner or the ropes. Nina gets disrupted, wincing and grunting as her body takes a shellacking this time, Kelly bull rushing into the pocket with her head kept low and arms close to her chest, chugging away at the waistline or arms until her leather gloves find paunchy flesh. Nina with no choice but to clinch up, but Kelly’s also ready for her, muscling the champ back against the ropes with her elbows and underhooks, before chopping an uppercut into her chin to stack her upwards with a grunt. Nina’s in trouble, looking dazed, swiveling to one side to avoid another hook but her face meets Kelly’s next one no problem - BLAMM!! Kelly’s textbook overhand stuns her to the face, turning her about on the spot and DOWN TO ALL FOURS!! Kelly Rohrbach spitting insults and cheap hisses down from above, gesturing for her rival to get back up if she can!! It’s a KNOCKDOWN for the Lioness! Round 4 and already the champ is on her knees, sputtering with her mouth open! She heard the referee begin his count from the side, however, and immediately begins pushing herself back up with the help of the ropes. Nina finally steadies herself by the count of 7, and nods to the referee to continue! Fine by Rohrbach, who meets her opposite the ring with a sly smirk!

ROUND 5:
Nina does a great job of recovering and catching her breath, evading Kelly’s rushes at the bell to avoid another mistake. Kelly rushes in almost immediately at the bell, her impatience predicted by the Vixen, who bobs and weaves to avoid her wide swings altogether in the first minute alone. Kelly wanted to end this third match in the early innings, to no avail, only tiring herself out in the process as another big hook misses, and NIna jams a right counter into her mouth instead. Slowly, Nina regains her composure and poise, striking out with stuffy hands to stuff whole leather gloves into the other blonde’s mouth and up her nostrils, drawing another painful grunt towards the end of the round as Kelly gets pushed back into a retreat instead. Rohrbach regroups in the final seconds, sure, exchanging brutal fire near the ropes but powerless to stop Nina from retaking her honor this time.

ROUND 6:
Several pounding shots to the arms puts Nina on notice, before Kelly immediately dips low and DRILLS a right cross into the champ’s body! Ouch! Rohrbach never gave up on her revenge and can’t help but smirk as she continues pounding away on Nina’s taut midsection and arms, rocketing lefts and rights into her waistline before reaching back up to hammer her to the sides of her head. Champ in trouble again, already went down once and now in danger of doing so for good, gets pushed to the ropes and has to force the clinch, with Kelly growling in her arms and trying to shove her off for more punishment. Nina survives this way, at times returning the favor and smothering Kelly to the ropes instead, but it’s clear that she’s hurt, and simply needs air to survive. Last minute is no better, with Nina slipping out back out of range but getting chased across the ring by more of Kelly’s headhunting combos. Several jabs make it through, creating a nosebleed of sorts, but the doctor clears the trickle of red down one of her nostrils during the downtime and after the bell rings.

ROUND 7:
Kelly sees the end in sight, never looked so focused as she does now, as she rushes in to try and finish the job. Nina’s like a deer in headlights in the first two minutes, focusing on protecting herself as she weaves and scoots away to keep herself afloat. Kelly’s own tiredness ain’t helping, with the Lioness showing signs of exhaustion as she hounds and hammers away, landing potshots into Nina’s tummy but then failing to nail the champ down with her bigger, more energy-exhausting hooks. Last minute and the champ sees flickers of life, Nina scoring back with a left hand off the cheek, followed by another one-two-three dings into the lips to shock the challenger back. Rohrbach looks stunned, feeling her lead slipping away from her bit by bit. The two girls rest into an uneasy circling pattern in the last seconds, jabbing and hitting the arms in tandem, as we head into the final quarter of this fight.

ROUND 8:
Kelly looks bothered that her rushes in the last few rounds hadn’t had the effect desired. Kelly’s taking in large gulps of air, arms wavering as she resumes her regular jabbing pattern. Rohrbach’s still taking the action to the champ but Nina’s got a little bit left in the tank, easily dodging and slipping to the side of her punches, before drilling her own leather back into the challenger’s face and sides. Kelly gets rocked by another overhand right to the temple, as Nina begins to drive her back!! Rohrbach looks punch-drunk as several more lefts and rights find their mark, Nina driving home the point that she’s the champ for a reason with a focused look and dipped head, both her hands firing on all cylinders as she pushes Kelly to the ropes, lashing at her torso with another double-hook combination before torquing the Lioness about in a 360 degree spin!! Kelly looks shell shocked as her arms go limp, her head tilting to the side with her mouth wide open! Nina cups her chin with one hand, ROCKS another hook clean across her face to send her TUMBLING!! It’s a KNOCKDOWN for Nina Agdal, who turns tiredly back to the neutral corner, herself also pushed to the limit. Kelly on her side, struggling to push her head and torso back up, very conscious of the referee’s growing count overhead, but too spent to make it all the way! She collapses back down and rolls onto her back, and the referee has NO CHOICE but to wave the rest of this fight off! It’s OVER!

Official Decision: Nina Agdal defeats Kelly Rohrbach via KO8! Nina Agdal is STILL the Unified Lightweight Champion!

AFTER:
“I’m the f*cking champ! I AM!” Nina shouts, to noone in particular, making us think she’s trying to convince herself more than the rest of us.

The Vixen goes on a parade about the ring, raising a tired arm and barely acknowledging the cheers and applause. She’s definitely made it a long way since falling to Rohrbach twice in a row years ago, and spends several seconds gloating over Kelly’s fallen form, but doesn’t decide to do anything else besides rub it in.

“I’m done making amends with my past,” Nina later says to reporters, sporting a smile after having recovered her breath somewhat. “I’m at the top of the division, and wasn’t a fan of letting someone like Rohrbach spoil my party.”

Kelly, meanwhile, is too busy recovering by the ropes to care, waving off the medics and slowly making her way back to her corner with the help of her fight team.

“Nina got lucky, that’s all,” Kelly says later to reporters, sporting red cheeks and pink patches all over her tummy. “Shall we just forget that I’ve already beaten her twice? This fight is nothing - nothing but a setback.”
