Avril Lavigne
(37, 5’1 ½, 63:27 FCBA, The Dollhouse) Vs. Ariel Winter (24, 5’1, 37:9 FCBA, Front Street)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse
BEFORE: Flyweight title implications here as Miss Avril Lavigne takes on the dangerous Ariel Winter on the beach, but that’s not the only reason to get excited about this fight, as both fighters enter the press hall earlier to cheers and a healthy buzz from the reporters, who have clearly been anticipating this clash for a while.
Avril and Ariel greet each other with frosty smiles and a loose handshake, before taking their seats at the long table. As Avril begins her comments, however, those left ignorant in the crowd finally realise what the big deal is over the choice of opponent:
"This will be the first time ever I'll be fighting a Front Street girl...and ya'll know I'm ready to kick her ass! Ariel lost to Emma 2 years ago, and Emma is much smaller than her...so... she can't be that good,” Avril taunts, acknowledging the long-standing tradition of former Front Street gals not fighting current ones now being broken. “Her record is totally padded by easy wins. She loses most of her REAL fights - and today you're in a REAL fight, b*tch.” Avril continues, throwing a cocky smirk Ariel's way. “The Wiz didn't want his girls fighting me before probably because he was worried about me kicking their asses. Like, Duh! I don't know what changed, and I don't really care? I'm going to f*ck Ariel up today and show everyone I'm still in the title conversation. I know that creampuff darling Dove Cameron is scared shitless of giving me a title shot because I beat her before…and who can blame her, right? but after today she’s going to have a hard time finding more excuses to avoid me."
Miss Winter doesn’t look too intimidated from across the room. She’s been chosen as the first of Old Wiz’s girls to ever be allowed to fight Lavigne, who’s known as one of his favorites, after Front Street’s long-standing rule of not fighting their former members has been changed recently.
"I guess I have SOME respect for Avril for the mere fact that she challenged ME of all Front Street girls… but she'll find out she bit off way more than she can chew today.” Ariel responds with a sly smile of her own. “There's a reason she spent most of her time on Front Street sitting behind a desk while the other girls were doing the actual fighting and winning titles. She's not nearly as good as she thinks she is, and she's almost 38….how long is she going to keep this badass act? She's foolish for getting in the ring with me and I'm going to show her zero mercy today, even if she’s one of the Wiz's favorites. I'm all business when it comes to boxing, and I'm going to knock you out today Av. Promise. But, you know....good luck “kicking my ass”." Ariel chuckles as she ends her statement with air quotes.
That earlier frosty reception is now even frostier, with both women getting right in each other’s faces at the podium, with Avril as usual still mouthing off insults and jabbing pointed fingers into Ariel’s chest. The Front Street girl, however, is ever classy, with Miss Winter smirking back and keeping her composure, till the ring official finally separates them both back to corners.
Hours later, It’s Avril who makes her entrance first, the Punk-Princess marching into the ring clad in a black bikini top and pink bottoms, blonde hair in a ponytail and pink boxing gloves. Miss Lavigne has a big grin on her face as she strikes an illustrious pose to the thunderous applause of the fans who are extra excited today – it’s not every day that they get to see the Doll fighting in a bikini after all. There’s no denying the former Front Street girl has gone onto greater success in the twilight years of her boxing career, and many think that Avril is still as dangerous as ever at almost 38 , having recently come close to clinching the title gold on more than one occasion. She certainly knows that winning this match tonight might guarantee her another shot at the coveted belt.
Miss Winter is the one standing in her way today though, and the busty redhead striding onto the ring next with both arms raised high as she comes out accompanied by the FS team. Ariel is wearing a snow-white bikini, with a pair of black gloves on either hand, her red hair in a tight ponytail. Winter seems focused and ready for her mission today, not wasting any time as she makes a beeline towards the ring without much interaction with the crowd. The FS star has performed well recently, and certainly earned her keep several times over, but tonight, she will have to prove that she truly belongs at the top by trying to take out another top Dollhouse contender after failing to do so against the “Ice Queen” Emma Roberts in 2020.
Referee calls this match to order, gesturing to both bikini clad fighters in their corners and gets the mutual nod. There goes the bell and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight beach action!
ROUND 1: Ariel’s built different, and physical, and the Front Street girl knows it. She marches in with both arms loose over her chest, immediately begins swinging and tagging gloves in Avril’s direction. Whatever makes Avril think she can hang and bang with her is a true mystery, but that’s exactly what the Dollhouse Queen chooses to do in the first few minutes, leaping forth and throwing herself into the thick of some face-turning and gut-churning action! Good lord - the clash in the center of the ring draws an immediate positive response from the crowd, who have paid to see a bloodbath between former and current comrades, and that’s exactly what they get! Ariel’s slightly shocked by Avril’s equal aggression, and a couple of her early hooks sail overhead or bang off the Doll’s arms. Avril exploiting, returning fire with short, swift shots drizzled across the redhead’s face, which stun Winter, but then immediately regrets getting into the phonebooth when Winter shoves both elbows into her chest and then gets in several pounding shots off her torso. Ladies continue to butt heads for the rest of the first round, an equal amount of punishment dished out both ways, and at the bell, Lavigne looks a little dazed, but still proud of herself for having hung out with the physical Winter and lived to tell the tale.
ROUND 2: Of course, Avril gets a mouthful from her corner in between rounds, Carmen Electra berating her for her foolish pride getting in the way of sound strategy yet again. There’s no instructing Avril Lavigne - we all know that - the Canadian singer does whatever the f*ck she wants, and here she comes once more, charging inwards at the sound of the bell. Winter’s a little more ready for her, however, absorbing an early flurry to the arms before tossing the Doll back with a mighty overhand to her arms, which staggers her for a brief moment. Lavigne, taken aback by her foe’s power, suddenly realizes the danger she’s in, as she bobs and weaves to the side to avoid more power hooks thrown her way. Ariel is expending loads of early energy in these sudden rushes - there’s malice in her eyes as she too wants to make a point to knock the former stablemate to the ground and cement her position on the Front Street roster. Avril defends well, however, crunching her foe’s head back with short, snappy jabs to end the round in her favor.
ROUND 3: Avril finally reverts to hit-and-run tactics, keeping her distance and targeting Ariel’s head with an early left-right combination, then slipping backwards to avoid Winter’s rush. Lavigne continues to poke and prod, earning grunts and gasps from Ariel’s lips, as she can’t quite land her punches on the more slippery Doll. Winter however almost traps her foe on the ropes once or twice, lunging inwards with a fist slapped to Dollhouse tummy or tossed across the arms to send Lavigne packing with a grunt of her own. But Avril’s improved footwork means the Doll always manages to get out of harm’s way, just in the nick of time. Both girls are breathing hard by the end of the third round, wondering if this strategy is sustainable going into the rest of this fight.
ROUND 4: Ariel’s younger frame is chugging along just fine, however, with her energy reserves allowing her to power inwards whenever Avril least expects it, shoving several gut-wrenching hands prodding the midsection and arms, before going up high with a hook to the chin, designed to be a killer blow. Lavigne suffers in the first minute, getting tossed into the ropes, her body folding over leather, but clinching up or ducking under a follow-up hook sent flying towards her head. Slowly, she begins to exploit Ariel’s non-stop chasing, timing a return swing just right and catching Ariel across the chin of another incoming charge. Winter looks dazed for a second, then eats another left hook to the temple, which sends her stumbling off to the side in turn! Lavigne definitely is packing some power of her own! But there’s not enough time to exploit, as the bell rings soon after.
ROUND 5: Avril emboldened, smirking behind her gloves as she looks to finish her former stablemate off in record time. Flurry of activity as her feet scoot forward with speed, her punches peppering Ariel’s guard and body all over to drive her back. For the first time in this fight, Ariel Winter looks a little insecure and worried, especially as Avril’s leather begins landing through the many holes in her armor. Winter does her best to stop the barrage by protecting her head with a firm guard, then shooting back here and there, as the action erupts in several spots of the ring, with leather shoved into the mouth and nose, before one gal retreats to gather her breath. Then, the other always chases her down, trying to earn that elusive knockdown, to no avail. End of the round and Winter has realized the magnitude of the fight she’s in tonight: one that may take a little more effort on her part in terms of words and pride.
ROUND 6: Second half of this action-packed fight and both ladies are not giving up the chase, Avril powering towards her foe early, using the remainder of her energy reserves to try and finish Winter off. Winter shouts out as she gets cornered on the ropes and her tummy beaten on, Avril shoving several fists under her arms and then going for a knockout blast towards her head. Ariel lets out another gasp as an uppercut catches her clean on the solar plexus, making her body lurch forward and the rest of her face wide open. Avril SHOVES another hook into the chin, sending the FS girl TWISTING off to one side!! Winter groans as the impact forces her off her feet and DOWN TO THE SAND!! It’s the first KNOCKDOWN of the evening, and it belongs to Miss Lavigne!
The Front Street corner personnel are not looking too pleased, with Miss Winter getting the silent treatment as she sputters face-first down to the ground. Lavigne meanwhile is enjoying her moment in the spotlight, twirling her way back to the neutral corner, both her arms strung up in the air. Ariel, however, pushes herself up by the count of 7, that look of embarrassment dashed with renewed determination etched on her face.
This fight is going to continue, folks, and that’s fine by Avril, who is caught smirking from across the ring as the referee signals for the rest of this round to continue. There’s two minutes left on the clock, and the Doll perhaps wants to end this fight clear, clean and crisp: with a knockdown to end all knockdowns that will determine who the best Front Street Flyweight is. AND HERE COMES LAVIGNE, making a beeline straight for Ariel and restarting the punishment along the ropes! Ariel turtling up, arms locked and preparing to weather this thunderstorm, as Avril slams her punches all over and into her frame, snagging the belly again but not making the same impact as before due to Winter having braced her body but it looks like the Doll is also quickly running out of energy. Instead, the Front Street starlet keeps her cool, slowly but surely begins to HAMMER back: a return right hook suddenly catches Avril across the face, sending her reeling off to the side in shock!
AND ARIEL’s the one stalking her prey now! Wasn’t she down a minute ago?! Ariel chasing a hurt Avril towards the other end of the ring and slamming big, nail-biting punches off the top of her head and down low into her body! Miss Lavigne is IN TROUBLE!! How the tables turn, with Avril now running for her life! But trudging through the sand makes it harder for the smaller blonde to get away fast enough and she ends up eating big shots upstairs from the eager Winter who then ROCKS the Doll with another wild hook to the midsection, which bowls the Canadian singer over and into the ropes, where Winter is all over her going to work and Avril finds out the hard way there’s more than one meaning to the phrase ‘Winter is Coming!’ More punches come crashing into the Doll on all sides: a left hook rocked into wilting arms, a right hand packed into the Doll’s side and ribs, with Avril soon reduced to one arm clutching onto the top rope to keep herself steady, the other feebly pawing at the air, trying to defend her face!
The referee is hovering nearby, trying to sense the slightest flicker of quit in Avril’s wilting defenses and panic-stricken face , but Ariel’s pummeling continues and poor Avril doesn’t know what hit her when she takes ANOTHER big shot to the head from the relentless redhead, and it’s all moot as she slumps groggily against the ropes and rotates sideways, exposing her side to Ariel. Big mistake! The younger girl plants her feet in the sand and SWINGS a big arching right hook downstairs that HAMMERS Avril square on her unprotected belly button!!! OHHHUUUPPHHH!! WHAT A SHOT! Ariel’s black glove SINKS into the Doll’s soft belly as Lavigne lets out a guttural groan, her torso folding forward and her mouthpiece shooting out of her mouth right before her shaky legs give out! DOWN SHE GOES! Lavigne dropping to her knees clutching at her midsection - her mouth forming a big ‘O’ and her eyes bulging as she CRASHES down to the ground on her side, her head slamming into the hot sand where she ends up lying in a heap, gasping for air after succumbing to Ariel’s power.
It’s a return KNOCKDOWN for the Front Street mega star which actually looks far more like a finishing knockout than a mere knockdown! A panting Winter gives a curt nod before striding to a neutral corner, leaning back on the corner post and taking a breather, her sweat drenched chest heaving as she looks down at the devastated blonde from across the ring, waiting to see Avril’s got anything left in her. And things aren’t looking too good for the Punk-Princess, who’s left moaning and curled up on the sand near the ropes, hugging her body with while her head rests on the soft ground, coughing out a mixture of saliva and sand through her now sand covered face. Only several seconds were left in the round before Ariel went all beast mode on poor Avril, but these crucial seconds were enough for the stronger girl to put her down and out of commission as Lavigne now barely manages to roll to one side with the referee towering over her, ending up flat on her back, one arm resting lifelessly on the sand above her head and the other clutching her lower belly in agony. Seeing her condition, the referee quickly calls for the bell and the beat-up singer in no shape to protest that call! Call the doctor ‘cause Winter came for Lavigne and left her in shambles! Ref waving his arms rapidly overhead! There’s the bell, which means this fight is OVER!
Official Decision: Ariel Winter defeats Avril Lavigne via KO6!
AFTER: A smile creeping onto Ariel’s face at the sound of the bell as she nods her head and raises her right arm to the massive cheers from the crowd. It’s a big, decisive win for the Front Street star who managed to turn things around in the 6th, taking the fight to an unsuspecting Avril and overwhelming the smaller girl with sheer power and tenacity until it was just too much for the Doll to take.
Dollhouse personnel rushing into the ring to administer medical help to the very beaten looking Lavigne, who’s seen better days as she can barely communicate with her doctors, looking groggy and hurting, face and hair covered in sand as she lays moaning on her back and waits for her team to help her.
Meanwhile center-ring, the victorious Ariel Winter is standing tall, smiling as her arm is raised by the referee to declare her the official winner of this contest. The Front Street redhead takes a few seconds to pose proudly in the center of the ring, hands on her hips as she gives the fans and media plenty of time to capture her big moment with their cameras.
Reporters soon surround Ariel, wanting to get her input on her big win today.
"Fighting in the sand is a totally different experience...It's really hard on your legs...but it also makes the fight more of a slugfest, which I'm a big fan of!." A still short-winded Ariel smiles. "I mean…Avril can box but she’s just not as tough or as strong as me.” She shakes her head with a knowing simper. “She’s a total glass canon, as you can see.” Ariel chuckles, gesturing to her right at the still laid out singer near the ropes. “Yes she can dish out some pretty good offense which I guess is good enough to win her a bunch of fights….but she’s soft - get a few solid hits on her and she crumbles like a house of cards. I knew she wouldn't handle my firepower in the pocket, and she sure couldn’t." She shakes her head chuckling. "That knockdown kinda woke me up. It annoyed me more than it seriously hurt me, because I knew I fucked up. After that I was kinda just...seeing red. She thought I was more hurt than I actually was and I exposed her bad defense. I got her panicking and just went to work on her...and to no one's surprise she went down pretty fast and… didn’t get back up. The end.” Ariel ends her little summary of the fight with a shrug and a smile, and it seems like finishing Lavigne with a knockout was as simple as it gets for the Front Street slugger.
Avril certainly didn’t get back up, and as Ariel exits the ring and begins her victory march towards the backstage, the blonde is far from it, still struggling to recover in the ring, finally managing to reach a sitting position near the ropes with the help of her team after several long minutes have passed since the fight ended. Her fans cheer her on, but it might take a few more minutes before the humiliated and battered Lavigne can make it out of the ring on her own two feet.
It’s definitely one of Ariel Winter’s biggest wins to date, one which will surely propel her even higher than the 7th place in the rankings on her way to perhaps another title shot in the coming year. And deservedly so!
For Miss Lavigne however, it’s a devastating loss that puts another question mark on her ability to compete with the young talent at the top of the division at her age of almost 38 after losing several key fights this year by big knockouts to young talent like Florence Pugh, Abigail Breslin and now… Ariel Winter.
We’re sure Emma Roberts will have plenty more to say about that!
