BEFORE: Intra-stable fights are fairly uncommon in FCBA but the Lioness Club puts one on the line here on the Miami sands. Polish model Sandra Kubicka remains a Top 10 touted prospect coming off a fine victory over compatriot Ela Kawalec in the Tauron Arena and she vows to beat up sparring buddy Lily Aldridge who has posted several good wins over the years herself but just never caught the elite buzz in the process.
Sandra Kubicka wears a navy blue bikini set & silver gloves. Long dyed blonde hair in loose waves. Lily Aldridge wears a neon yellow bikini set & black gloves. Long dark brown hair loose & straigt. Both women are barefoot. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
These two models know each other well so a slow start is almost expected and the action follows the script with single punches leading into a muted response from the audience. Lily tries to become more aggressive in the second minute but she bounces off the blonde's high guard and eats a genuine stinger on the mouth herself which makes Sandra chuckle in delight. Lily winks back at the younger model but still tries to land some hard punches alas Kubicka's guard proves vastly superior in the process. Coach Claudia Schiffer refuses to call the tactics for this one and prefers to enjoy some drinks around the bleachers while broadcasting the fight live on her FB account!
Rounds 2 & 3:
Lily jumps into a more aggressive drive while Sandra maybe relies too much on the sparring knowledge and doesn't feel the need to rush her response as the American still only scores single punching success that doesn't really cause much damage. However Lily's determination is not to be denied as she rattles confident hooks into the blonde's face and escapes the counter-punching heaves through better than expected mobility. Sandra remains stuck in neutral and most fans don't believe she tries to lure Aldridge into a false sense of security. She can't quite overthink the room after all and the methodical pounce from the older model drives her onto the ropes too often. Lily lines several shots to the body but Sandra comes away with a good hooking combo to indicate she can secure a slam dunk at any moment and the brunette probably knows that very well too.
Round 4:
Slugging action kicks off in the fourth when Sandra finally releases the hand-brake and pulverizes the Santa Monica native to the body before a quick uppercut rally splits the guard and connects with the jaw. Ugh! Lily drops to her heels upon impact and she can't match the Pole's intensity while leaking more hard leather on target. She tries to bail out into mid-distance but trips over her feet and Sandra NAILS her with a vicious left hook on eye. Oi, Lily! The dark-haired veteran stumbles to the side with a whimper and she can forget about clinching her stablemate to safety... Sandra fires more quick hooks on target and dissects the high-guard for good... more strikes, more fun for the blonde as she tags the reeling Aldridge on the chin one time too many and DROPS HER FOR THE COUNT inside the final ten seconds of the round. Huh! No real celebration from Kubicka and it's not only down to the fact Aldridge gets saved by the bell few moments later.
Round 5:
Lily avoided disaster late in the fourth and she comes roaring back at the blonde stablemate now... more slugging delight for the Miami audience as sparks fly thick & fast to the point Sandra learns to regret her approach when Lily smacks her up the chimney and begins to stack up unanswered punishment down the stretch. Kubicka grinds to a halt in the center of the ring as her head rocks around under pressure... Lily gets animated when she bends the Polish foe to the side and rips a rare shot on the boobs that SENDS SANDRA DOWN ON HER KNEES half-way through the second minute! Uh-oh! Talk about a surprise here but maybe Lily really knows where to hurt the highly-touted blonde the most? Sandra takes the standard eight count and prefers to stay away from more slugging ideas for remainder of the round. Lily tries to hassle her down towards the corner but concedes the pursuit once she realizes the Polish model still has plenty of juice left in the tank and her retreat is a tactical move more than anything else.
Round 6:
Sandra shakes off the comeback knockdown and fires quick leather into Lily's face which triggers another hectic dispute in the center of the ring. Both models kick plenty of sand in the process before physical damage comes to the fore when Aldridge gets cut up across the nasal ridge and stumbles to the side... Sandra rips another quick series up the middle and begins to outwork the older model driving her back to the ropes much to the crowd's delight. The slugging action continues downstairs as Lily slumps into worrying spasms following a harpoon attack and she wobbles off her stance to meet a crushing uppercut on the jaw. All Kubicka in the final minute as she rains punches like skittles to bury the brunette behind a desperate earmuff and she has to be pulled away by the ref at the bell with Lily shaking her head in a visible sign of frustration. So what is that sparring record between these two again?
Round 7:
Lily tries to beat Sandra to the punch off the line but shoots above the blonde's head and wobbles into another vicious uppercut from the inside. Uh-oh! Worst possible outcome for Lily who gets bumped on her heels seconds into the seventh while Kubicka tees off from point-blank range and drops a wicked cross on the nose to leave the American scowling in pain. Another looping hook tags the ear and sends the curtains down as Lily barely stays upright... for the next three seconds anyway since Sandra SMOKES her with a genuine piledriver on the nose one more tome. DOWN GOES ALDRIDGE flat on her back and it's a bad one as the Sports Illustrated veteran fears she might have suffered a nose damage in the process and only sits up on the sand half-way through the count. She shakes her head several times and the merciless count passes her by moments later. KO7 Sandra Kubicka!!!
AFTER: No hard feelings between these two so Sandra offers Lily a helping hand and even dusts her off the sand before they embrace in a friendly hug. Some jibes over the nasal injury but there is no blood on display so maybe the brunette dodged a bullet here after all. Sandra's arm is raised in the air and she remains hot in pursuit of that Top 10 lightweight ranking while Lily admits her tonight's conqueror deserves all the praise from the media: "Tess Valmore has said a lot of crazy things over the years but even she can find a diamond in the rough when sober. Sandra is a promotional slam dunk and our manager has noticed that before anyone else did. Now, I need a drink!" (laughs).
