Intro:
Two women needing to get a win to move their career back on the right path, Sophia Bush and Emily Bett Rickards meet for the first time in their careers, they will step foot onto Muscle Beaches famous sand to do battle.

Form wise Sophia has to go back to nearly a year to last November for her last win, beating Lacey Kay Somers, she has since lost three bouts in a row, Emily meanwhile has to go back to March of last year when she knocked out Natalie Martinez, she has lost two fights to top contenders Anya Taylor-Joy and Kaya Scodelario.

They both posted a few messages to advertise the fight on their social media, a week before the bout Sophia posted "training is going great, I can't wait to step into the ring with Emily, I guess I need to show that I still belong in the ring" maybe a few doubts creeping in after her last few results judging by the last part of her message.

Emily meanwhile told her fans "ready to get it on with Sophia Bush, I've had enough of her stablemate Kaya (Scodelario) these past few months, so while I hold nothing against Sophia, I will make a statement on Muscle Beach" clearly with a goal of showing Kaya and others in the bantamweight division where she really stands in the rankings.

Fighting time, there are three bleachers set up, the ring posts have been set into the beach itself, with the judges table nearby, crowd looks electric as they are cheering and chanting for their favourites before they have even stepped foot onto the sand.

First to come towards the ring is Sophia, she has her coach Hilary Swank with her as they walk to the ring, Sophia steps into the ring wearing a white bikini with matching gloves, her hair is tied into a ponytail as she taps her gloves together, bouncing on her toes as she looks focused.

Emily now steps onto the beach with her coach Eliza Dushku, Emily taps her abs with her gloves, walking around the ring towards her corner, stepping through the ropes into the ring, she wears a red bikini with white gloves, hair in a ponytail too, she takes a breath and nods at Eliza to say she is ready.

The referee waves the fighters to the center of the ring, they lock eyes in an intense stare, a win important for turning their careers around before they slump through the floor, there's a few glares exchanged between Eliza and Sophia as the old rivals clearly haven't gotten over their feud, Sophia and Emily at least do touch gloves, though there's a crack of leather as it isn't the softest touch, jogging back to their corners, the bell soon rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
Circling around the center of the ring, using their jabs to get a gauge of the range, it isn't long before the first exchange sees both step in and land three punches each, taking a step back to reset as their eyes are firmly locked, Emily moving her jab down into the chest of Sophia to push her back a step, getting clipped over the top by an overhand right as both try to work out how to take control of the action.

After an evenly fought opening minute, Sophia digs a jab under the chin of Emily to knock her head back, right cross then smacks the blonde in her nose as Sophia starts to push back her opponent, landing the crisper punches now as she opens up, Emily looking a little tense as she tries to trade from her back foot, getting hit through her guard more as Sophia holds the center of the ring.

Less then forty seconds to go, Emily starts catching Sophia back with cross punches, taking her time to get at Emily, Sophia tightens her guard before deflecting a straight to step in with a right onto the forehead of Emily, then follows with a left/right hook to the cheeks of Rickards, pressing her back onto the ropes, digging into the abs of Emily till the bell rings moments later, solid start for Bush as she returns to her corner, Emily gets told by Eliza to use her strength to push back Sophia.

Round 2:
Back they go kicking up sand as they trade around the center, Emily steps in this time with a jab followed by a right cross to knock back Sophia, both start exchanging more in closer as Sophia looks to not be pushed back, grunting when their abs get tested.

A little shove by Emily with her left opens up Sophia for a straight right into her face, left hook follows to her jaw, making the brunette fighter have to retreat back as she covers up, Emily not letting her have much room to breath, sticking to the body as clearly the Medallion team think they can break down Bush from torso up, Sophia showing her experience to keep calm and hold onto her opponent to slow her momentum, referee needed to split them up as they kick up sand wrestling to the ropes, a little shove exchanged when they are being broken up.

Trading around the ring with Sophia being forced to fight on her back foot as Emily looks driven to take the fight to her opponent, both slamming in straight punches to mark up faces, Emily can't quite heard Sophia into a corner or on the ropes, the bell soon rings with Eliza looking happier by her fighters improvement, Sophia though also looks cool and collected as she sits on her stool.

Round 3:
Emily is taking the fight to Sophia, landing a double jab into the chest of her opponent, forcing Sophia back as they trade, using her strength to press back the older fighter to the outside part of the ring, Emily causes blood to trickle from the left nostril of Bush after landing a right cross into her nose.

Sophia needing to keep her guard up, Emily switching to the body to make Sophia groan out, needing to start fighting back. Sophia lands a left cross followed by a right hook to the cheeks of Emily, trying to force back the blonde, they trade in close with heads nearly grinding them as they slug it out to the body.

Entering the final minute of the round, a left hook catches Sophia around her ear, an uppercut then slams into the brunettes jugs to make them jiggle around, Sophia shelling up as Emily is trying to hurt her with power punches, while they are not landing as cleanly as Emily would hope, they are catching the eyes of the judges as Bush can't land much more then single punches once in a while to show she is in this fight, the round comes to a close with Emily returning to her corner nodding to Eliza that she is feeling it now, confidence flowing through her as Sophia takes a breath before sitting down.

Round 4:
Pushing to their feet off their stools, both come out trading solid punches through mitts to start, Sophia's nose is trickling claret again as Emily is on the front foot, she misses with a straight as Sophia ducks under it, landing two left hooks to the ribs of Rickards to make her grunt out now and take a step back.

Calling on her experience, Sophia is starting to counter punch her way back into this fight, timing Emily coming forwards to land her punches into her face, making the blonde back off and look a little unsure of herself, Emily's mood isn't improved when Sophia switches defence to attack by landing a straight into her chin, a left hook follows as Emily is forced into a neutral corner, Bush back to the body with hooks till Rickards can pull her into a tight clinch, referee needed to break them up with Emily getting out the corner.

There's definitely more tension between the fighters as they trade in harder shots, trying to hold onto control, Emily gets in a good right to the forehead of Sophia, who lands a solid left cross in return, ending up clinched again, their foreheads are pressed together as they try to overpower their opponent, Emily moving Sophia back in the sand to show she is still the stronger woman, they are split up just as the bell rings, Sophia raises her right arm into the air as she returns to her stool, showing Emily she won this round and is confident she is going to win, Emily shutting her eyes as she sits on her stool, arms and legs being massaged by Eliza as they speak about what to change up.

Round 5:
Off their stools with determined looks, Emily is drilling in punches around the nose of Sophia to start, driving her back towards the ropes, where Sophia moves her head out the way of another straight, clinching up and banging in a few blows to the kidneys with her right till the referee breaks them apart, Sophia being warned for her illegal hits.

Resuming with Emily keeping on the front foot, a mistake by the Canadian beauty as she misses with a jab, leads to her being smacked onto her chin with an uppercut, then a left hook lands on the same spot, there's a shake to the legs of Emily, who backs up a step, SOPHIA SLAMS A JAB SQUARE INTO HER NOSE TO SHUT EMILY'S EYES, THEN LANDS ANOTHER RIGHT HOOK ON THE BUTTON TO SEND EMILY TO HER RIGHT SIDE IN THE SAND!

Sophia turns her back on Emily as she walks to the neutral corner, her supporters roaring as Emily's urge her to stand, 1...2...3...4.. Emily is blinking hard trying to clear her head, 5...6.. Gumshield partly hanging out her mouth as she pushes to all fours, 7...8... A glassy look in her eyes as she tries to stand, 9.. Falling back on her backside as she is dazed, 10 and counted out!

Winner Sophia Bush KO Round 5

After:
"Yes!" Yells Sophia as she jumps up and down, threatening to spill out her top as she is so happy to be back on the winning side of things, she jogs back to her corner to hug her coach Hilary, who has stepped into the ring to celebrate with her, knowing how hard she works in the gym.

Eliza has to step into the ring to check on Emily, who takes a few moments to shake off the daze she was in, nodding to Eliza as she admits "I got caught out there, I am sorry" head down looking at the sand, Eliza just tells her to forget about this, move on from it right away, easier said then done of course.

As Eliza helps up Emily to her feet and gives her a hug, she stares hard at Sophia, who catches her graze with a venomous glare in reply, showing they are far from being friends, Emily is helped over to her stool to get cleaned up by her corner crew, looking disbelieving she lost again.

Especially when they get to see Sophia have her left arm raised in victory, Sophia blowing a kiss with her right glove still on to the cameras, joking "I ain't too old yet" with a wink, though judging by her results Sophia might have to start thinking about looking for people more in their thirties and forties then taking on these twenty year old prospects.

Out the ring heads Emily, with Eliza giving another hard look back at Sophia, who yells "you got something to say bytch!" Which certainly has the crowd curious where this is going, Emily looks at Eliza with a confused look, realising it is her coach Sophia is talking too, Eliza yelling back "you were lucky and you f**king know it!" With Sophia grinning at that, Hilary trying to stop Sophia getting herself into trouble.

But Sophia is somewhat a fire cracker, she drops her gloves at her feet and climbs out the ring to go to Eliza, Hilary gets out the ring to stop her, with Emily actually having to stop Eliza, Sophia yells "you want to finally settle this between us! I'll let you train up and we can settle this once and for all, no excuses between us!" Eliza nods in reply, not saying a word but clearly wanting the fight, to finally finish what started over a decade ago between them, though sounds like fans will need to wait a little while for the grudge fight.

Instead for now Eliza leaves with Emily asking her "really sure you wanna fight her?" With her coach replying "absolutely" as they walk off the beach, Hilary looking a little confused by the whole explosion between them, but remembers that Eliza and Sophia are certainly far from friends outside the ring, tied at one win apiece, looks like they will finally settle who is the better fighter after all these years of fighting for them.
