Lili Reinhart versus Margot Robbie (Bantamweight Title)

More than a few grumbles from the top tier of bantamweights when it is announced that Margot Robbie of Sceej Boxing is getting the coveted shot at the straps. “Journeyman” is probably the tamest word used to refer to the Aussie and her 32-28 record, (ignoring her 4-0 2022 through date and knockout of HOFamer Minka Kelly). Front Street trainer Neve Campbell also rolls eyes when informed of the contract, “Nothing against Robbie - it is just so aggravating to deal with ‘her’!” (and anyone who has followed FCBA history even a little knows who “her” means!)

Champion Lilli Reinhart installed as massive betting favorite. Six year younger than Robbie, more importantly, that 32-2 career record is absolutely unprecedented in the history of the FCBA. Somehow it has gone under the radar but no one, not no one, has ever started a career like this or had, had or will ever have this kind of winning percentage! The few Robbie bettors are relying on the “magic” of veteran Sceej trainer Scrubby McGee, whom even the GOAT Theron sought out to train her!

Pre fight features more than usual chirping out of Jenny McCarthy. At presser, telling anyone who will listen that the “dancing hookers are the dirtiest fighters EVER” and they are taught all the dirty tricks by their trainer (never mentioning Neve Campbell by name and never needing too!). Asked about the champion’s incredible 32-2 record, Jenny rolls eyes “Against who? Set-ups and dives? Hand picked opponents at the so-called Asylum? One word describes Lilli Reinhart - OVER RATED!” (ignoring the fact that she pronounced it as TWO words?) For her part, Lilli bemused, offers only, “You know who I feel bad for? Margot! Cuz girl - all this smack that Granny is talking is going to be taken out of your ass! So i suggest you shut her up!”

Fight Night

Margot Robbie waiting in ring, pink sports bra, baby blue boy shorts, one pink one blue glove, hair in pigtails, working the Harley Quinn angle. Champion Lilli Reinhart to ring in no nonsense balck - sports bra, shorts and gloves, high pony tail. Referee’s instructions (usually a formality) complicated by the presence of one Jennifer Ann McCarthy! Referee matter of factly, “... break when you're told, watch the rabbit punches, kidney punches …” when Jenny erupts “You BETTER watch the kidney punches, ref, they are TAUGHT that in Philly!”. Jenny staring daggers at Front Street trainer Neve Campbell, who smirks in response. “Don’t you eyeball me, Campbell! Do not eyeball me or we are going … right here and right now!”. As Jenny looks for SOMEONE to restrain her so she does not have to actually tangle with the Canadian; Neve with arms crossed deadpans “Any time … any place! Any questions?” Eventually ref has to issue warning to corners before we are ready for actual fighters to get it on!

Round 1 - Girls out of corners, looking like mirror images - flat flooted, dukes high, classic boxer-puncher stance. Both blondes looking to jab from behind high guard - no size difference to speak of between these two - jabs mostly picked off by opponents gloves as they size each other up. Trade of jabs mostly inconsequential until Margot doubles up mid round and scores some stingers to champs face. Lili feigns jab back and lands clubbing right off top of Margot’s scalp. Margot lashes back left hook to ribs and jaw - nice pak pak contact BUT tastes the champ’s power when Lilli cracks overhand right to jaw that puts a little shimmy in Sceej fighter’s knees, Margot on her toes, dances back to reset and settles back into tactical fight. First round to the champion off of spurts of effective aggression!

Round 2 - In Sceej corner, Scrubby reassuring Robbie “Good round, goil … watch out fer dat right, K?” while Jenny McCarthy insight limited to “Knock this Dancing Hooker flat! She’s nothing!” (oblivious to the fact that she is talking about a girl who is the champion … with four straight title defenses … and the greatest winning percentage in FCBA history (!) … but Jenny gonna Jenny). Same stances but fighters letting hands go, drawing applause from the crowd. Lilli firing the one-two - left jab followed by straight right while Margot up on toes, backpedaling and jabbing .. finding blonde champion's face with that jab. Lilli slips jab and digs to the body, and Robbie into the clinch. Rinehart looking to punch out of clinch and referee giving leeway as girls wrestle on ropes, Lilli looking to free hand and Margot looking to tie up. Eventually, ref forces break. Lilli a little too reckless in pursuit, coming out of crouch with left hook but is beaten to the punch and rung up by Robbie short left to the jaw. Champ blinking - stunned momentarily and take a hard right to the forehead … and now it is LILLI looking to clinch! Champion looking to tie up challengers arms but Margot refusing to wrestle and burn energy - takes what is there - hard little shots inside - tummy, tits, clips chin - Lilli occasionally responding, with wide shots - catching ribs and occasionally back - McCarthy screeching from corner in response “Watch her, ref, watch her!”. It's back and forth action but at the end of each exchange it seems to be Robbie getting in the last “word” as she takes round two by a wide margin.

Round 3 - Margot Robbie feeling confident - Scrubby McGee trying to keep her from feeling TOO confident. “Good round … good round … now we take what we can from dis goil … box if ya gotta box, got it? If yer inside, keep dem shoulders close … bring yef punches up, not wide, got it? Yer doin’ great, kid!”. Ringsider asks “Robbie’s been with Sceej a few months now and I am thinking Scrubby still hasn’t learned her name?” Whatever the case, Robbie a quick study, dukes high, jabbing circling with Reinhart who’s following same game plan. Battle of jabs weighing slightly in favor of the champ until mid round. Lilli looks to throw right hand behind jab, Margot slips the right, pops out of crouch - hook to the jaw … hook to the jaw … champ stunned, eyes unfocused and hands disorganized. Robie asserting herself! Reinhart with hard right back but it is picked off and Margot thumps left right to the body. Big left to chin misses as Reinhart snakes neck back and backpedals. Challenger backing champion up as she takes round 3 decisively.

Round 4 - Lilli looking to restore order and put upstart in her place. Feigns jab and rings Margot up with right hand lead. Left right combination … knocking Robbie’s head back. Marot Robbie backing up - fighting retreat and Reinhart following hot on her. Big right from champion sails wide. Challenger with wild amateurish left hook to the jaw …. and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Huge roar from crowd as lightly regarded challenger has put the most dominant fighter in the FCBA today on the seat of her pants! Lilli up in good order at six … takes the mandatory eight … Jenny Mac sticking head through ring ropes screaming “FINISH HER!!!” but Robbie stays within herself - no wild rushes - just moves forward behind jab - herds champion to the ropes and picking her spots. Lilli behind high guard with back on the cables, just taking, rolling back with punches to take oomph off the shots and riding out the round. Margot Robbie unable to find the finisher, a little gassed by the end but big round for the challenger!

Round 5 - Neve Campbell in Reinhart’s ear “She’s gonna come hard, got it? Fight smart. Don’t take chances, let her burn what she’s got left, and then she’s ours!” Lilli shaking her head affirmatively. Confusion in Sceeh corner, Scrubby McGee looking to keep Robbie calm while Jenny Mac yelling “Don’t let the bird in the bush off the hook! Finish this b*tch right f*cking now”. Two blondes out of corners with a surprising level of caution - jabbing behind high guard. Lilli Reinhart gradually presses pace and she is out jabbing the Sceej fighter, then abrupt change of tactics as she starts to target midriff. Bait Margot with fake to head and then dig with left or right to the body. By end of round, Robbie pinking up - especially right flank. She is looking to clinch but Front Street fighters masters of fighting in the clinch - Reinhart keeping hands free and working. Good comeback round for the champion.

Round 6 - Neve Cambell keeping corner instruction shot but decidedly not sweet, “BODY BODY BODY!” Lilli out of corner bobbing and pounds a lead right hand off Margot's sore midriff … and another … and another! Robbie starting to cramp, backs up and gives up canvas. Reinhart hopping after her and hounding challenger to ropes. Lilli pounding Margot’s guard, hammering elbows and biceps, as blonde challenger turtles up. Robbie not answering back - she’s pinned to ropes. Lilli able to load up - really digs that money left hook to the liver! Margot crunches forward into her gloves to try to protect battered body and is clipped short uppercut inside that straightens her up. Champ lowers her shoulder, edges it into Robbies's chest to lever her upright. Pounding rights and lefts barbecuing Robbie’s ribs and she cries out in pain. McCarthy screeching “FOUL!!! LOW BLOW!!!” - but Ray Charles could see its clean body punching. Stepping back for punching room - Lilli wants that Robbie rack! Left right … left right … left right … Reinhart just harvesting ALL of Margot’s mammaries … challenger lolling against ropes, eyelashes fluttering - until champion puts left hand on chest to stabilize her, draws back right hand … theatrically KISSES her right glove … and blasts right hand to chin! Margot Robbie is OUT before she hits the canvas! No count needed! Winner by knockout in the sixth round and STILL undisputed bantamweight champion - LILLI REINHART!!!

Margot Robbie brought around slowly with smelling salts. When she is able to sit upright, Lilli goes over to check on her - unexpected display of sportsmanship given the way the fight ended. For her part, Jenny McCarthy declining to get into ring - could have something to do with the glowers of BOTH Lilli Reinhart and Neve Campbell. Post fight interview - Lilli Reinhart “They tell me Margot’s OK and I am glad to hear it. Look, it’s a rough sport but that last round? That’s not usually my style. Blame that on the bleach blonde Mac the Mouth! If she’s gonna talk that much smack - she should at least get up in the ring herself - not send someone else out to face the consequences!”
