BEFORE:
"Hayden's totally washed up,” Avril laughs from the press table earlier in the evening. Seems like her big defeat at the hands of Ariel Winter last month did little to make the bratty singer reconsider her approach when it comes to trash talking her opponents. “She's been a joke for like two years now...she's like 2-8 in her last 10 fights. That's pathetic. It's the perfect time for me to kick her ass and get some payback. It was my birthday this week, and beating her ass is going to make a hella sick bday present! She got lucky two years in a row...it's whatever. B*tch is not getting lucky again tonight."

The now 38 year old Lavigne is all too eager for this rematch, having lost their previous two encounters back in 2019 and 2020. Perhaps that is why Hayden Panettiere is looking cocky as f*ck before their third encounter tonight, with the Foxfire Boxing starlet smirking throughout the entire press conference and not paying attention to any of the Doll’s words.

“I'm not sure what Avril is thinking challenging me again after I knocked the stuffing out of her twice already...but I guess she's not really known to be the sharpest tool, to say the least...so, here we are. I know these last two years didn’t go my way, but Avril might be the perfect punching bag for me to bounce back with. Tonight’s fight is going to go exactly like the other times...Actually scratch that, it might be a lot shorter. I'm so pumped and ready for this. I NEED this. So It's entirely possible that I'll just beat her to a pulp in 4, 3….maybe even 2 rounds…” Hayden ends with a chuckle.

Avril hasn’t gone down 0-2 to many girls – The Punk-Princess now has to contend with an opponent who’s coming in as the clear favorite. The Doll, fully aware of the disparity, waltzes up to Hayden on stage and comes straight to her face with her fists cocked and too close to the chin and cheekbone. Hayden smirking back, her own chin upturned, no reason to be intimidated when she’s already knocked Avril off her perch twice in a row now.

Ladies almost get into a shoving match, but get physically separated fast by the fight officials, then herded back to their corners for the final pose towards the cameras. Hours later, Avril’s first to the stage, spotlights shining high and low, illuminating the Doll’s curvey figure as she strides through the curtains with her hands raised. Avril’s wearing her usual black sports bra and short tights, both lined with neon pink and a pair of matching gloves, her hair in a tight ponytail. Despite just celebrating her 38th birthday, the singer is showing no signs of slowing down and her fans are here for it.

Next up is Hayden Panettiere, the Hall of Famer herself, coming into the arena to loud cheers of her own clad in an olive green sports top and white boxing trunks, with a pair of black gloves on her hands. The tough sturdy blonde has her hair in a bun as she marches towards the ring with a confident smirk, accompanied by her team.

In the ring, the girls make themselves ready in their corners, and soon enough, the referee gets an eager nod from both corners amidst the rabid cheers of the crowds! HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Avril knows first-hand how dangerous Hayden is, plays it cautious but still eager to show off her courageous side. She sends a first couple of jabs into Hayden’s arms to test her resolve, knowing as well that Panettiere only recently snapped her four-fight losing streak with a recent win over Kate Mara. Hayden not caring about her recent fortunes, however, responding with jabs of her own that stun Avril to her arms, pushing the Doll back with several grunts elicited. Hayden’s power got the better of her last time, and Avril makes sure to keep herself at a safer distance for the remaining two minutes. But a last rush inwards by Panettiere (perhaps due to her overconfidence) sends Avril grunting into the ropes, desperately covering up as the Foxfire girl ravages her body and arms with several low hooks. Thankfully, the bell saves Miss Lavigne from premature annihilation, but things don’t bode well for the Doll if this bullying keeps up.

ROUND 2:
Hayden’s still eager to brawl, arms and head low and just looking for the opportunity to blast Avril to her temple or body with yet another devastating hook. Lavigne stays spritely on the periphery, loose and light on her toes as she jabs at Hayden’s face repeatedly, trying to dissuade her advance. Things look up for the Doll in the first half, tagging Hayden on her cheek once, twice, before blasting her to the belly with a low-dipped right cross. But Panettiere just keeps on coming, her face screwed up in malice as she hammers Avril back with an overhand off the top of her arms, then sends another barrage to the body to push her back. Bell ends and Avril has performed a little better compared to the last round, but not by much. She at least can take comfort in taking this round by a small margin.

ROUND 3:
Hayden on the prowl, a little wary of the Doll’s jab combos at her head, but still playing the overzealous aggressor here. Hey, don’t fix what’s working, right? Her wanton aggression gave her the edge in their last two contests, and Panettiere doesn’t see any rhyme or reason to adjust her strategy here. Avril’s barrage of lefts and rights at her face makes it difficult for Hayden to see where she’s going, but she’s got the counter-swing down to a tee, slamming another hook into Avril’s side to make her growl and wince, forcing Lavigne to move faster if she doesn’t want to suffer a sore tummy by the end of the night. To Avril’s credit, some of her jab combos ARE landing, just that it’s still too early to dissect Hayden’s guard completely.

ROUND 4:
Panettiere may be pushing forty herself but she’s still brimming with youthful energy, walking Avril down towards and then across the ropes in the first minute, repeatedly bashing shots off her arms low, then going up high suddenly with an overhand swing to the side of the head. She knows that Avril’s weakness is her more mature stamina and lack of long-term survivability, and so she presses the girl right here in the opening rounds to get her moving and sinking even faster. Lavigne’s holding on, but suffering, groaning as an uppercut cuts into the middle of her arms and snags her chin, but she manages to rally and scoot down the extent of the ropes. Hayden takes some jabs in return, the Doll’s fists stuffed into her face but they’re mostly haphazard, lucky shots thrown by Avril in desperation. Can she survive another six rounds at the bell? Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

ROUND 5:
Avril is still circling, now more than wary at her opponent’s antics. She’s survived four rounds of Hayden’s blatant charges, and arguably, looks in a much better spot compared to their last fight. She controls Hayden a little better this time, partially due to Hayden’s reduced speed and reflexes and partially due to her intense focus on not getting blown the f*ck off by her opponent’s power: she lands several jabs to Hayden’s temple, just above the eye, forcing Hayden to cover up and stall her own advance at multiple junctures. Hayden batters back in the second half, with her own jab combos fired in response, like twin artillery batteries taking pot-shots at each other. Avril takes some damage, but ultimately comes out on top by a closer margin.

ROUND 6:
These girls are taking the fight to each other, and not taking any breathers in between! Sound of the bell and Hayden and Avril circle, back to exchanging fire in tandem. Hayden doesn’t seem keen on getting in close any longer - each time she tries, she’s met with a hailstorm of punches that leave her shaken and dazed. Avril knows this, keeps her defensive pattern up as well, content to shock and send shivers down Panettiere’s spine with a fast jab to the cheek here, a follow-up hook dazzling her across the face there to send her a message that she ain’t the same fighter she was two to three years ago. Hayden, however, stubborn or otherwise, shoves her own fists up the Doll’s nose in the second half, pushing Avril back with a loud grunt, with more shots landed here and there but they don’t seem to have the same effect as last time, and so Avril always bounces back.

ROUND 7:
Hayden’s looking sluggish, breathing hard and coming forth like a shadow of her former self. She fends off several jab combos from Avril, the Doll testing the waters and waiting for the best moment to pounce and make her comeback. That moment arrives in the second minute, when Lavigne catches the blonde clean on the mouth and nose with a three-hitter combination, shocking her head back when leather gloves depress into her face one after another. It’s the signal to strike! HERE COMES LAVIGNE, laying it in thick, growling back with vengeance as she rocks Panettiere with an uppercut to the tummy before blasting away at her wilting arms and upper torso! Hayden’s groaning, getting walked backwards, taking a loud DING across the chin before a follow-up uppercut catches her on the base of her chin, and BLASTS her head skywards! AND DOWN SHE GOES!! Hayden DROPS like a sack of bricks, collapsing onto her face and chest! She raises a stunned expression for a split second, before letting her chin fall back down to the ground with a final THUD! Referee doesn’t like what he sees, doesn’t even bother with the ten-count here. He waves his arms over the KO’ed girl and declares this fight OVER!

Official Decision: Avril Lavigne defeats Hayden Panettiere via KO7!

AFTER:
HUGE win for Lavigne as the tired blonde raises both arms in the air and jumps up and down, a big grin on her sweat drenched face as she circles the ring looking ecstatic with the fans cheering her on.

Avril passes next to the fallen Hall of Famer on her victory lap, bending down and giving the younger blonde a bump on the head from above. “Best birthday present EVERRRR…b*tch!” she giggles before skirting away, letting Hayden’s team attend to their groggy fighter.

Lavigne finally gets her revenge on the tough blonde who has broken her twice before, but the score is still 2-1 in favor of Hayden, and as Lavigne makes her way out of the arena towards the backstage, the look of contempt on the now recovered Hall of Famer’s face still in the ring could mean these two might have yet another go at each other in the future . If only we’d be so lucky!
