Nina Agdal vs Lily James (Lightweight Title)

BEFORE:
“Nobody’s heard of Lily James, honestly,” Nina looks smug in the pre-fight presser. The Lightweight champion has her belt draped over her shoulder, waving off the reporters’ questions as to whether she feels threatened at all by the challenger tonight. “Not one bit. I’ve beaten Kylie Jenner and Taylor Hill. I think I can handle a nobody like Lily James.”

At the other end of the table, Lily James blinks in surprise. It’s true that her regular demeanor is that of silent confidence, not really needing to brag about her achievements when her 14-0 stainless record speaks for itself.

“All I want to say is ‘Thank you’ to Nina for giving me this opportunity,” Lily says next, with a sly smile on her face. “We don’t get much of the spotlight, especially those of us in the smaller stables. But this title opportunity is a moment for not just myself, but the League of Mighty Women to shine. I promise not to waste it.”

Later in the ring, the referee is hoisting the Lightweight title belt high in the air to show that it’s up for grabs tonight. Lily James is in one corner, her hair slicked back and tied into a neat ponytail, white and black bikini wrappings around her chest and waistline.

The challenger is set in red gloves, ready to go. In the other corner, Nina is still smiling, gesturing rudely. The Vixen has had an unprecedented title run thus far, and plans to fully continue her stride into the history books. She’s wearing a silver bikini and white gloves, going for that dazzling, stardust look.

Referee waves for the bell, and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Lightweight action! This here’s for the Unified Lightweight Title!

ROUND 1:
Good mix of action to start, with both ladies striding in with their arms high, heads bobbing, ready to throw down. Nina lands leather first, initiating with shock-tests to James’ arms, testing out her defenses. James responds moments later, firing in her own brand of fast jab combos to score off Nina’s cheek and surprise and shock the champ. Agdal responds in kind, but mixes up her attacks with the odd hook to the side of the head, which Lily doesn’t expect, at least not this early in the fight. James opts to retreat, covering her head up in case one of those nasty hooks lands, and Nina is allowed to chase her backwards, gaining ground, continuing to land shots off her body and face to the bell.

ROUND 2:
James stands her ground this time, to promising results. James being two inches shorter than her counterpart means also she’s packing power in each swing, and manages to block the first few flurries from Agdal before catching the Sports Illustrated model with tighter hooks off her sides and torso, each time making her grunt and wince and then fall back. Agdal’s attempts to brawl with the challenger aren’t bearing fruit, and sooner rather than later, the Vixen decides to hang back, opting to trade jabs with James from afar yet again. But by now, it’s a little too late, with James also shooting in her own lefts and rights, meeting the champ blow for blow, and squeezing a final cross through the arms and straight into the lips, to end the round back in her favor.

ROUND 3:
More of the same, as both girls want to surge forward in terms of points. They stand and trade early on, both bashing jabs off each other’s lips to throw heads back at painful angles. Nina appears to gain the advantage earlier on, using her slight reach advantage to smash a glove into James’ mouth, then swerve her head off to one side or back to avoid the challenger’s return attack. James, however, quickly adapts, blocking more often and sacrificing her body to stiff shots that get sent straight in, but then being rewarded with a stiffer swing off that grazes off Nina’s chin, dazing her worst. On aggregate, both fighters have scored equal damage this round, which means this fight is only just getting started!

ROUND 4:
James is still brimming with energy, walking in and immediately resuming the action from the last round, firing combinations and not letting Agdal take a breather. Agdal needs one, still able to go another six rounds but is choosing to hang back and block and weave, focusing on counter-shots that have limited success in landing. James also meets her head-on with a firm guard, those forearms fluid and moving, as she raises and lowers her defenses to block Nina’s slower attacks. Instead, James strikes like a viper, choosing the opportune moment to smoosh her fist into the lips or tag Nina on her ribs, each time drawing a frustrated growl from the champion. End of the round and Nina’s looking even more winded than before, growling and complaining to her corner that she can’t catch a break.

ROUND 5:
Nina’s forced to fight smarter, knows she can’t stand and brawl with the shorter, stockier James. The Vixen keeps her away in the first minute with long jabs concentrated on her face and top of the head, and it works! Lily James gets overwhelmed by the sheer number of lefts and rights fired towards her vision, and she can’t quite keep up to intercept all of them at once. As a result, Nina scores some good punches off the head to dazzle her in the second minute, but any other attempt to jump in to try and finish her off is moot, with James quickly flying back into action, wildly swinging away to chase her off. Fine by Nina, who takes several more dings off the challenger’s torso and head, then decides to stay away for the remainder of the round, already secure in the knowledge of taking it wide.

ROUND 6:
Nina continues to dominate, keeping the defender at bay and controlling her effectively with her crisp and precise jabs. The Vixen is a veteran of the ring at this point of her career, and though some would still complain she’s not deserving of being champion, her record of besting girls like Kelly Rohrbach and Emily Didonato begs to differ. She shoots another cross right between the arms, snagging the nose. Lily needs to find another way around this barrage of jabs and crosses, and for now, is stuck behind the wall of having to fend these attacks off with nothing but her wits about her. James finally decides to retreat and regroup by the third minute, breathing hard and her own forearms battered pink and wavering. But thankfully, Nina bides her time, and doesn't see a need to rush in to try and finish her off. No knockdown from either corner by this sixth round, and it’s a telltale sign of how similar these two are in terms of fighting style and spirit!

ROUND 7:
Nina finally decides to try and push in, sinking a left-right combo into Lily’s arms and then dipping low to barrel herself inwards! James is in panic mode at first, blocking and retreating several steps backwards at once, but on instinct, just as easily lowering her arms to block Nina’s lunges for her body. Immediately, James swings for the fences, one of her return hooks catching the champion clean across her mouth!! OUCH!! Nina looks like a statue getting stood up, her head and upper torso tossed over to one side, then the other, as James squares her shoulders and plants another tepid hook across her face, which sends her reeling!! Agdal’s IN TROUBLE, getting walked towards the ropes, forced to cover up even as James helps herself to large scoopings of her undercarriage, those fists rocking into the body and any other inch of flesh she can take for herself! Agdal almost gets trapped against the ropes, but has the good sense to swerve away at the final moment, avoiding a potential knockdown for her corner! Best round of this entire fight so far for Lily James, who pumps a tired fist to the crowd later on!

ROUND 8:
Nina looks wounded indeed, especially when the bell sounds to start the eighth, with the Vixen hunched over and slow to move out of her corner. Lily James with renewed rigor in her eyes and every stride, perhaps that Hollywood training proving useful and giving her enough stamina to cross the finish line tonight! Nina immediately starts getting hounded by powerful combinations, Lily back to headhunting with that left-left jab before rocking the Vixen to the body or her arms with a step-in cross, each attack pushing her further and further backwards! Nina attempts to stand her ground in the second minute, rocketing a hook off James’ chin, but instantly eats karma as a return hook mashes into her side temple, and sends her FLAILING into the ropes!! AND HERE COMES LILY JAMES, barreling inwards and bashing away at the model’s tummy, sending Nina’s body jerking and folding over in half from the unadulterated access, the champion WILTING bit by busted bit, until a pumping uppercut cuts through the center, hits home right to the base of her jawline… AND DOWN SHE GOES, Nina’s strings cut in a flash of pomp and cheers, and the rest of her body collapsing down to her side, her cheek glued to the canvas, her eyes fully squeezed shut!! Referee gives the champion the benefit of a full 10-count, but Nina’s OUT COLD like a light!! Ladies and gents, we’ve got ourselves a NEW champion tonight!!

Official Decision: Lily James defeats Nina Agdal via KO8! Lily James is the NEW Lightweight Champion!

AFTER:
Elation in the air as Lily James leaps up and then runs back to her corner, smiling wide! Who f*cking says this woman has no emotions is lying flat down on her ass, or has ther lights turned off at home! James is met with a chorus of cheers as she accepts the title belt as though it’s a long lost baby returned to its mother’s arms.

Lily James gracious as ever, barely acknowledging the former champion, who’s still recovering in the other corner of the ring. Nina still looks shocked at the sudden loss of her title, mixed with abject hate all over her face at having lost that same title to someone like Lily James (at least, according to the Vixen).

James even striding over and offering the former champ a hand, but Nina turns her head to the side, still having trouble swallowing this bitter pill. James simply shrugs in response, striding back to her corner and brandishing the title high in the air, signaling a long reign to come!
