Elettra Lamborghini vs. Lili Reinhart (Unified Bantamweight Championship) (Results: Lookout. Words: Wiz)

BEFORE:

Few fighters have established themselves in the FCBA more quickly than Lamborghini, who won nineteen of twenty-three fights in her rookie year last year. And, while the busty Italian did most of her damage in JMD, she was plenty impressive in traditional fights as well. With two months to go in her sophomore season, Elettra is 24-6 and has already held the JMD titles. Now, she's looking for bigger game in Unified Bantamweight Champion Lili Reinhart. "She is very good, obviously," says the brunette beauty. "But, I am much more physical, and that will be the difference."

As for Lili, the champion is one of the few women in the division with an overall record MORE impressive than the challenger's. She's 33-2 career, and, this past May, she avenged one of those losses by taking the straps from Elizabeth Olsen. And, while the blonde clearly respects Elettra, she's not sweating her. "She can hit," the champion admits. "But, I'm the champion for a reason...I'm the better fighter."

ROUND ONE:

To no one's surprise, the challenger looks to force the issue. Elettra is working forward, trying to close and bang. The champion can, as she's proven, play this game. But, at the moment, she doesn't want to. Instead, she wants space, wants to box, and she's getting it by moving the feet, working the left hand. Lamborghini manages to get into the phone booth at times, and, when she does, she gets work done, but it's mainly Lili who's getting the terms she prefers, and, when the blonde does so, she gets the better of things, offsetting the Italian's close-in work and more. Final thirty seconds see some sharp exchanges with Elettra able to bring her power to bear, but, when the round ends, nobody's hurt and it's the blonde who's taken the points and the 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

More of the same early, with the Italian looking to work in and Reinhart determined to keep her at range. Champion again having more success than the challenger in enforcing terms. Until. BOOM! A short right hook from Elettra and REINHART IS HURT! Lamborghini immediately all in looking to finish this thing. She drives the champion into the ropes and works her over to head and body as the ref looks in. Lili's desperately hanging on as the challenger tosses everything but the kitchen sink at her. Champion is keeping the guard high, rolling with, blocking, using every trick in the book to try to stay afloat to the bell. Final thirty sees Elettra ignoring the on-sale body as she pours everything into getting the stoppage. But, it doesn't happen. Reinhart hangs on to the bell. When it rings, Elettra's taken the round wide and evened things at 19, but she's also cursing a missed opportunity.

ROUND THREE:

Elettra forward immediately, walking in behind a hard left jab. Lili backing, covering, doesn't have the legs under her. Lamborghini's cleaning up, but that's not what she wants. She's looking to FINISH up, and she's working clinically to do so. There's nothing sloppy about the brunette's efforts. She's setting up punches, getting the hands out and back, giving her rival as few openings to counter as possible. Reinhart manages to stay off the ropes for much of the round, but in the final minute, the Italian traps her there. Again, Elettra refuses to buy body at any price, instead firing hard, accurate shot at the head, looking to put the champion down. Again, though, the blonde plays good defense, does enough to keep the ref at bay, and rides things out to the bell. It's Elettra's round via shutout, and the challenger pulls into a 29-28 lead.

ROUND FOUR:

Same again. Lamborghini forcing the pace. Lili giving ground, trading space for time. Blonde's legs look better in this stanza, but they're clearly not all the way back, and the brunette is taking advantage, lining up the champ, landing hard, accurate shot again and again. Middle of the round sees Elettra working some serious body, as she drives the blonde back and pins her to the ropes. Champ able to clinch, force a break, slip away, but she remains on the back foot as the challenger fights lead, piles up points and punishment. In the final thirty seconds, the blonde finally seems to be moving well again, snapping out the jab, slowing her rival's pursuit, but it's much too little to matter in this frame. At the bell, there's no doubt about it. Lamborghini's won wide again and leads 39-37.

ROUND FIVE:

Reinhart getting back to what she was doing in the first. It's about the foot movement and the sharp, accurate left jab. She's creating space with that combination, and that allows her to control the pace and, to an extent, control Elettra, who continues to attempt to close and bang. Lamborghini is resolute, determined to bring that power to bear, and, at times, she's able to work inside and get some leather on target both upstairs and down. but, for much of the round, it's the champion getting the terms she wants. And, while Elettra is able to get some things done on those terms, once again, the champion is manages to score enough to more than offset what Lamborghini does inside. At the bell, just like in the first, it's Lili who takes the points, cutting the challenger's lead to 48-47 at the half.

ROUND SIX:

Pattern is set. Elettra working forward. Lili trying to manage that aggression with the jab and the feet. And, it all comes down to who gets more of what she wants. BOOM! Right hand, REINHART! Champion catches the challenger coming in and nearly sends her to the canvas! Elettra stumbles back into the ropes and immediately covers up as Lili charges forward and pours fire at the listing brunette. Lamborghini clinching, holding on until the ref forces breaks or Reinhart can punch free. Lili working upstairs, then down, hammering away, looking for the 'off' switch...but not finding. Elettra plays excellent defense and does enough offensively to keep the referee at bay. A short right hook in the waning seconds shakes the Italian, but, when the bell rings, she's still standing. It's Lili's round wide, though, and we're even at 57.

ROUND SEVEN:

Lili now the one working forward. She's walking Elettra down behind the jab. Lamborghini conducting a fighting retreat. Those sturdy legs aren't all the way back, but she's got enough under her to land some nice counter punches. But, while those counters slow Reinhart a bit, they don't stop her. She's pressing her advantage, sitting down on punches, looking for the finisher. BOOM! Straight right hand, LILI! Elettra staggered...and DROPPED WITH A THREE-PUNCH COMBINATION! Challenger spilled to her back as the champion heads to a neutral corner. Referee counting over a downed Lamborghini, who manages to sit up at seven. She attempts to rise at eight...only to STUMBLE BACK TO THE CANVAS and it's OVER! The count passes the Italian by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO7 and STILL Unified Bantamweight Champion, Lili Reinhart!

AFTER:

Lili all smiles in the post-fight. Another big win for the blonde, if a predictably hard-fought one. "Like I said," the blonde says with a smile. "She can hit, just about as well as anybody I've ever been in with. But. I'm the better fighter. And that made all the difference."
