Alyssa Lynch vs Ginny Gardner

Alyssa:

Ginny:

BEFORE:
Girls are cordial for rivals about to do battle, with Ginny and Alyssa squaring off on stage and glaring each other down. Alyssa and Ginny both look toned and fighting fit, and there's no offer or shake of the hands when they finally do separate, merely turning and striding back to the press table to field reporters' questions.

"I like what Gardner has done, mainly doing her best against girls like Taylor-Joy and Ronan, and only recently winning against Peyton List," Alyssa says first, responding to a reporter's remark about her opponent's record. "If she were on the VIX roster, she would have been put on notice and shown the door sooner rather than later."

"Well, thank god I AIN'T a Vixen, then," Ginny responds with spite in her tone and knitted brows. "God forbid the kind of pressure you guys go under on a fight-to-fight basis. Unlike yours, my managing team doesn't punish us for losing."

Alyssa, however, shrugs off the backhanded comment, and responds: "You'll be the one getting punished tonight, that's for sure."

Rest of the press conference concludes without further flare-ups, however, and both women are escorted to their backstage locker-rooms.

Hours later, Alyssa Lynch is pumping her fists up and down to the music, entering the arena to a bluster of cheers, and feeling good about her chances tonight despite having lost two fights in a row now. She’s wearing a faded green bikini and black gloves. Up next, Ginny Gardner looks equally showworthy in her baby blue sports bra and short gray tights. The Doll may have only fought one fight this year, but it’s a fight that she won, so quality might count over quantity, according to her.

Referee gets this bout started, signaling for the bell! HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Being an inch taller isn’t doing Ginny many favors early, as the blonde and brunette repeatedly clash in the center of the ring. Shots fired as often and mutually, as Ginny slips through several fists into the Vixen’s lips, only to have Alyssa pay her back with an equal number to the nose. Lynch, however, pushing in with more force, slamming an early hook into Ginny’s chin to send her reeling sideways several times. Gardner needs to play to her strengths, trying to establish distance once more with her long jab, but Lynch still stalking in, avoiding those punches and then catching the blonde with forceful swings to the arms and even more danger-close to the head. Sound of the bell and though Ginny put up a valiant fight, Alyssa still takes it close.

ROUND 2:
Gardner plays to her strengths more often, wide strides forwards and back, avoiding Alyssa like the plague at first and then slowly surprising her with shots to the face, drawing grunt after grunt. In return, Gardner’s also taking damage, with Lynch’s fists catching her on her sides and torso but they’re mostly hitting the arms when they do land. Close round overall, as both fighters continue to push each other back with a flurry to the body here, another wide swing to the head there. Close of the round and Gardner has found her footing, weaving leftwards to avoid an overhand swing before stunning Lynch back with a hook that grazes the chin. So far, so even, as Ginny comes from behind to edge out her rival in terms of points.

ROUND 3:
Lynch however responds with more bluster, coming in hot with her head down and targeting the blonde’s midsection, reaching under the arms to blast lefts and rights into that toned body of hers. Gardner groaning, forced backwards early, in danger of getting trapped against the ropes as Lynch circles in to take another swing at her head. Thankfully, the blow misses, though Ginny isn’t doing much else to even out the scoreboards for the remainder of this round, with Alyssa still giving chase and poking incessantly at her face and body. Last minute and Gardner attempts to stand her ground and throw down with the brunette - big mistake, scoring a stiff hand off the temple but then getting bowled over with a mid-tiered swing to the gut from Alyssa, before another hook sends her reeling once more towards the ropes! Bell SAVES the Doll from early disaster, as Alyssa was already about to charge in to finish her off, but is staved off by the referee.

ROUND 4:
Gardner still has some fight left in her, no doubt, moving in tandem with the overeager Lynch and landing more shots off her facial features. Lynch is getting foolhardy, thinks her foe is about ready to go down with another charge, and another, and another, but all of them eventually fail, with Ginny scooting back on her longer legs and keeping her jab hand extended and constantly shoved into Alyssa’s nose and lips. Second half is a little better for the Vixen, who stands at a comfortable distance and exchanges fire with the blonde from afar. It’s not going to win her the round overall, but Lynch succeeds in playing the Doll’s game, driving a lasting cross straight between the arms in the final seconds, and straight into Gardner’s nose. Ouch indeed! But Ginny still takes it close at the bell!

ROUND 5:
Bad news bears for Ginny, as she looks a little dazed from that earlier punishment, still shaking her head as the bell rings and Alyssa Lynch is already bearing down upon her. Gardner moves out of the way a little too late, forced to cover up from a sudden barrage of strikes that hound her arms and thump into her body. Lynch stays close and on top of the blonde, huffing and puffing and drilling away at her toned tummy, trying to get her to lower her guard for that final killing blow. Gardner takes a stiff uppercut to the sternum and that seems to have done the trick!! Blonde girl lurches forward with a grunt, leaving her chin exposed to another glorious hook front and center!! AND DOWN SHE GOES! Ginny SPUN on her heels and is forced down to all fours, gasping as the referee begins the count overhead! It’s a KNOCKDOWN for Alyssa Lynch, who pumps her hands in the air on the way to neutral corner - she doesn’t have to wait long, however, as Gardner’s attempts to rise aren’t successful, the Doll having trouble maintaining balance on her knees, yet alone one foot at a time, wobbling precariously before falling back down to all fours! That’s it! The referee is calling for an end to the rest of this match!

Official Decision: Alyssa Lynch defeats Ginny Gardner via KO5!

AFTER:
“A good fight,” Alyssa smiles to reporters. “Look, no matter what she said earlier, she put up a good fight. Gotta respect her for stepping into the ring with me. I’m sure this ain’t the last time we’ll face off.”

After Ginny is revived and helped back to her corner, the blonde looking red-faced and still a little shaky. “I felt that I won several of those rounds. Given a little more time and training, I feel like I could have gone the distance and defeated Alyssa. We’ll see…”
