Jennifer Lopez vs. Laura Pausini

(Results: Lookout. Words: Wiz)

BEFORE:

Lopez, at 53, hasn't boxed full time in a decade, but she's been active in Cougar bouts of late and has shown she still CAN, at least against girls her own age. Pausini, meanwhile, is still looking for her first FCBA win after a whopping THIRTY tries. But, if Jennifer thinks this is going to be easy, she's not letting on in the prefight. "Thing about her," says Lopez, "Is she can HIT. Anyone who can hit like that is dangerous. I'm NOT taking her lightly."

"Tonight is the night," says Laura. "Tonight. Is. The. Night."

ROUND ONE:

Neither of these ladies plans to box, and that becomes obvious in the opening seconds. Nobody's jabbing and moving, nobody's looking for space, they're just stepping to and letting the hands go and the crowd is immediately LOVING it. Absolute BOMBS being thrown here as both veterans are determined to impose will if not finish this thing VERY very early. And, despite some really hard shots landing, nobody's backing up an INCH here. It's just trade after trade of heavy leather until...BOOM! Right hand, J-LO! Pausini GOBSMACKED, staggering backward and DROPPED TO HER BACK by a three-punch combination from Lopez! Jennifer raising her arms in victory as she walks toward a neutral corner. Pausini down on her back, eyes closed. She's not looking like getting up. Italian beauty is not just down but also OUT and it's OVER! And your winner by KO1 is Jennifer Lopez!

AFTER:

J-Lo over to check on Laura, who taps gloves with the Latina lovely before Lopez moves off to the post-fight. "Man, she hit me some good shots," says Jennifer with a smile. "Neither one of us was thinking ten rounds and the cards, so it was going to come down to who's tougher. I may be an old broad, but I'm still tough as nails."
