BEFORE:
"We thought it was time for me to finally take a crack at the top 20,” Maddie says with confidence from the press table. “And thought Isabela will be a good test for me. I'm much longer than her, but she just knocked out Breslin...so I know she has plenty of power...but good luck catching me. I think I'll enjoy picking her apart from afar,” Ziegler ends her segment with a smirk.

Isabela is having a mixed year thus far, being a little less active than some of her previous pushes, but still as deadly with her fists. Case in point, recently knocking out Abigail Breslin was quite a feat for the relative newcomer, and Maddie will have to contend with both the American’s speed and firepower if she wants to come out on top tonight.

“Maddie’s new, so I don’t blame her for trying her luck,” Isabela says from the other end of the press table, before continuing. “The thing is, she still hasn’t been tested…not really. I’ve fought against women like Portman and current champion Dove Cameron -- sure, I may have lost those matches, but the experience adds up, you know? Who the hell has Maddie fought?”

Five full inches of an advantage for Madison, who towers over Moner when the two girls face off later in the center of the stage. Isabela not looking too troubled, however, having faced off against other taller girls in the past, and won. Staredown is tense but polite, with both ladies merely posing with their fists stacked high and then backing away when the referee calls them to do so.

Hours later, Ziegler is the first to enter the arena, striding down the ramp in a dark blue sports bra and long green fighting tights, her dark blonde hair tied neatly into a tight looking ponytail and she’s wearing blue gloves. Both ladies are coming off a victory in their respective careers, so it’ll be a matter of who wants the win more! Isabela is next to stride into the arena in a red sports bra and short, black fighting tights of her own, raising black gloves to the cheers of her fans, her dark brown hair in braids.

Referee calls this match to order, and the crowd is cheering for these two young competitors to get started! There’s the wave of the hand and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Mad Dog Maddie’s moving hard and fast early, sideway steps to avoid an earlier rush from Moner! The American fighter may be several inches shorter but there’s no shortage of courage within her frame, as Moner pushes into Maddie’s space and begins wailing away at her body in the very first minute. Maddie’s poking back at her face, of course, but can’t quite keep Isabela off her constantly, and consistently, and as a result, is taking hits to her arms and body, and being always a little too slow to get away before Moner hammers another left-right combo inwards. Isabela’s taking some damage to her face, but Maddie’s still too focused on protecting herself, having no time to pack more power into each punch. And hence, Moner is the one dictating terms for now, further mixing up her attacks high and low to keep the Doll guessing further. Close round to Moner at the bell, who continues to defy expectations!

ROUND 2:
Ziegler’s got her groove down, however, moving harder and faster, and thus more easily avoiding some of Moner’s rushes. Moner suffers from that reach disadvantage, taking sudden swings and lunges at Maddie’s body but the Doll’s just an inch or two out of range, with Maddie swerving her own head backwards and weaving her body to the side to avoid the shorter woman’s attacks. Up next, Madison is the one pounding away with countershots, left and right hands landed on the smaller girl’s face as Moner keeps rushing inwards, often to her own detriment. And all that damage is beginning to add up by the last minute, with Isabela looking red-faced and breathing hard, her guard raised up high to intercept more of Maddie’s incoming fire. Wide round swings back to Ziegler’s corner, which means this fight is just getting started!

ROUND 3:
Moner still doesn’t have a firm answer to her foe’s reach advantage, and now is spending more time blocking and defending against Maddie’s long-range jabs. Ziegler’s biding her time, rocketing shots in from afar and not letting Moner get in close to brawl. She’s got the advantage in this fight and decides to use it fully, that left hand extended most often and shoved into Moner’s cheek and chin over and over, with Isabela letting out another grunt as a third fist catches her clean on the lips. Down the line, however, Moner shrugs off the pain and PUSHES in all of a sudden, racking Maddie’s body with a lunging shot off her stomach, then another and another shoved into the blonde’s midsection before Maddie can fully cover up and get away. But get away she eventually does, albeit not unscathed, with Ziegler left breathing hard and lowering her guard at the other end of the ring. Overall, she’s still edged out her rival in points, but that was quite a scare back there indeed.

ROUND 4:
Still, that confidence booster to Moner is taking effect, with Isabela back to stalking after the Dollhouse blonde, trying to tighten the noose around her neck and then go to town on her arms and body. The smallish American has got hella spirit, catching Ziegler off the side of her body in the first minute and then chasing her to the other end of the ropes with more lunges at her face. If Maddie ain’t careful, she’s gonna be driven into the ropes and then down into the canvas to sleep, and the Doll needs to pay more attention to her footwork to stay upright upon them. More left-left-right jabs poking and prodding at Moner’s face, but the small girl also has some moves on her, slipping down and to the side to avoid yet another combo, only to BLAST Ziegler to the side of her body!! OUCH!! Ziegler looks shocked and in pain, quickly covering her ribs up and bent over, only to take another hook clean across her face! AND DOWN SHE GOES, getting SPUN on her heels on the spot before collapsing to the ground face-first! It’s an early KNOCKDOWN for Isabela Moner!!

Dollhouse corner is up in arms, pulling their hair out at this shock result! Moner sends air kisses to the crowds, smiling wide, a fist raised high on her way to the neutral corner. Meanwhile, Maddie is trying to force her way off her chest and chin, make it up on foot at a time. It’s a rare sight indeed to see the latest Dollhouse member on the ground, which just goes to show how dominant she’s been in her recent fights. Has that recent loss to Millie Bobby Brown thrown her off her stride, however? Not for now, it seems. Maddie recovers by the count of 8, nodding to the referee she intends to continue!

ROUND 5:
Fine by Moner, who simply RUSHES straight at Maddie at the bell, hoping to end this fight by SHOCK KO! Maddie’s forced to cover up, protecting her head and hoping to god her toned body will be enough to outlast her rival’s. Moner predictably gets frustrated at hammering punches into her arms, going south to the Doll’s body instead with several thumping shots sent in left and right. Maddie covers up, weathering and moving back in the first half, before sending a shockwave of a right hook back into Isabela’s head in the second, which almost knocks Moner off her feet from the impact! Let’s not forget how powerful Maddie is herself, that full head of height giving her some punching power of her own to wreck smaller and lesser girls. It’s Ziegler’s turn to push in, hoping to salvage the round and at least prevent a total wipeout. Isabela, however, is too shocked to resume her own attack, goes into full retreat instead, seems content to be taking lefts and rights to her face, with Ziegler even banging her mitts off the sides when her hooks bypass the GBS girl’s guard to go round and stun the stomach. End of the round and it’s an effective draw, which is more than a comeback for Maddie Ziegler’s embarrassing last round!

ROUND 6:
Moner looks slow and sluggish, which spells doom for her in the long run! The smaller girl may have expended most of her energy in the first third of this fight, now looking a little under the weather and hesitant to press in all the way. Another factor might be having tasted Maddie’s firepower first-hand in the previous round, making the American more than a little scared of getting too close to brawl. Regardless of the reason, Maddie’s allowed to slowly stalk her way in, pounding away on Moner’s guard and picking her off with thumping straight hands to the body and sent into the top of the head. It’s Isabela’s turn to get pushed around the ring, her smaller body meaning there’s less surface area to protect, but also more easily bullied towards the ropes. Maddie’s follow-up swing slams in soon after, the impact throwing the GBS starlet off balance and stumbling!! AND HERE COMES ZIEGLER, burying more punches into the smaller girl’s body, furthering jerking her about, with multiple grunts elicited from Moner’s lips, as she begins to wilt! Moner finds herself trapped against the ropes, helplessly covering her head up and trying to weather the assault, but she CAN’T compete with Ziegler’s firepower… Maddie plants her feet and sends a right hook CLEAN across her temple! AND DOWN SHE GOES, poor Moner SPINNING 360 degrees before CRASHING down to the canvas, groaning loudly! This might be it, folks!! Isabela ain’t moving throughout the rest of the referee’s ten-count, her arms and legs pawing at the ground on either side, the rest of her lithe body barely moving! There’s the wave of his hands overhead, and it’s OVER!

Official Decision: Maddie Ziegler defeats Isabela Moner via KO6!

AFTER:
Maddie Ziegler all smiles after the bell, the blonde hugging and high fiving her team in her corner before walking over to her fallen opponent, towering over her unconscious body with curiosity or perhaps even concern, as Moner’s team get busy bringing their fighter back to reality.

A minute or two later and Moner is already sitting up near the ropes, and the two competitors exchange a few friendly words before Moner is helped to her corner for further recovery, while the victorious Ziegler continues her celebration inside the ring, raising her arm to the fans and basking in tonight’s win glory.

The “Mad Dog” Maddie Ziegler has broken into the top 20 with yet another impressive win tonight and looks bent on becoming the best Flyweight prospect the Dollhouse has ever had. If she keeps winning and improving like she has done throughout 2022, she might end up being just that!
