Kaley Cuoco vs Amy Willerton
(Writing: LMW / Results: Lookout!)
Kaley Cuoco (36, 5’6, 73-53-3 FCBA, Medallion Boxing)
Amy Willerton (30, 5’9, 7-4 FCBA, League of Mighty Women)
Pre-Fight: In this Sweet Sixteen bout of the Queen of the Ice Hotel Tournament, Medallion Boxing’s Kaley Cuoco will be facing League of Mighty Women’s Amy Willerton. Considering their current form neither fighter is seen as a favorite to win the tournament. However, they both want to turn things around and they both have tools to make a surprise run in the tournament, Kaley with her experience and Amy with her punching power.
Kaley enters the ring wearing a black sports bra, jean shorts, black gloves and boots with her hair in a double Dutch braid. Amy is wearing a white faux fur bikini set with matching gloves and boots with her hair tied into a ponytail. The referee signals for the bell!
Fight: Round 1 & 2: Kaley makes an aggressive start as she knows that it is a long tournament and wants to make quick work of her first round opponent. Amy is forced to defend early on and she needs to focus hard as her experienced opponent looks for any slight opening and punishes her with some stiff punches. Soon enough, Amy realizes that she needs to utilize her long legs to move her opponent around and her longer reach to keep the American at bay with defensive jabs. The pace slows down a bit after that and Amy starts landing some good shots from the range to even things out. Kaley wins the first round narrowly and Amy wins the second in similar fashion, so things are all even after two rounds.
Round 3 & 4: Things slow down further in the third round as Kaley goes into a more defensive approach as well. She might be wanting to preserve some energy after seeing that her aggressive style in the first couple of rounds wasn’t as effective as she would have liked. Amy starts to initiate more exchanges in this round as she moves in with one-two combos and tries to split Kaley’s guard. The experienced American is defending well so far and fires back with some counterpunches. Amy tries to increase the pressure as she starts throwing a higher volume of punches, which drives Kaley backwards. Just as Amy thinks she can corner her opponent, Kaley ducks down as she steps forward and lands a big overhand punch that rocks the British model. Now it’s Amy’s turn to back away. She uses her defensive jab to keep Kaley away and does enough to survive. Round three and four continues in this back and forth manner as both fighters win a round and things are still even.
Round 5: Looks like both fighters want to end things before getting into the second half of the fight as they start the fifth round with a long exchange in the center of the ring. They stand and trade as both fighters land some clean punches to the head and the body. A big right hook from Amy finally forces Kaley to step back and defend. Amy is not willing to let her opponent off the hook though, so she follows her with a one-two combo that cannot go past the American’s guard. However, she does find the mark with a wide swinging hook that rocks Kaley. She takes a few steps back unsteadily and Amy steps in with a straight that drops Kaley down on her back! The count begins as Kaley lies on her back, trying to get her senses back. Realizing that the referee is already at six-count, Kaley quickly sits up and then she tries to push herself up, but cannot find her balance and falls down on her knees and it is all over!
Official Result: Winner via KO in round 5, Amy Willerton!
Post-Fight: Amy raises her fists in celebration as she beats a Hall of Famer to advance to the next round of the Queen of the Ice Hotel Tournament. It is a solid victory for Amy as she keeps her hopes alive to win it all. On the other side, Kaley needs a moment before she gets up, but she is okay. However, the same cannot be said for her hopes for making a career comeback as her losing streak continues.
