Nell Tiger Free vs India Eisley

Nell:

BEFORE:
Nell Tiger Free looks unsure of herself for the first time in a long while, a series of disappointing showings against first Sadie Sink, and then Emma Watson, throwing the newest Flyweight’s prospects into question.

Tonight, she faces off against another relative newcomer to the FCBA, with India Eisley now two losses down but her determination and drive wanting to rectify that with a first win in her column.

“Nell’s not looking good,” the lanky American says to reporters earlier on. “I may be coming in as the underdog, but I think my chances are good tonight of winning my first match.”

Nell, of course, disagrees, shaking her head from across the press table, before taking the microphone and responding in kind:

“Winning against India will be a soft comeback for me,” Nell says, with a straight face. “I’ve got to start winning my matches in order to prove my worth, and my spot, on the stable. There’s no qualms about that.”

Nell and India facing off at the podium, and those two inches of a height advantage are bolstered by Nell’s slightly bulkier frame. India’s past opponents were the current Bantamweight champion, Lili Reinhart, and Danielle Rose Russell - two opponents nothing to sneeze at -- so it’s do-or-die tonight with facing off against a less illustrious opponent in Tiger Free.

Ladies are all prepped and ready to go later on in the ring, with Nell dressed in a simple black sports top, white trunks for bottoms, and a pair of navy gloves on either hand. In the other corner, India has gone for a black brassier, a little tummy shown off with her own red cotton underwear for maximum mobility.

Referee calls for the bell to kickstart this contest, and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
India plays it aggressively, shocking Nell with feints to one side of her head and then shocking her with a sudden hook from another direction. If Nell was expecting smooth sailing, she’s in for a rude awakening indeed, when India slams another jab combo into her arms before lunging under to smack the tummy with a glove. Nell opts to retreat, which gives her the slight edge of controlling India’s punches better. But it ain’t by much as Tiger Free fires combos of her own to American’s face, but they’re not enough to turn the tide of earlier.

ROUND 2:
India tries for seconds, and it utterly fails. Left hand feints are either ignored or parried away by an observant Tiger Free, who takes the opportunity to shoot a combo into Eisley’s face first to gain the upper hand! Eisley lets out several painful grunts as she gets pushed back every couple of steps, more surprised than hurt by Tiger Free’s quick-thinking. Second half of the fight and ladies are exchanging fire to the face and body in tandem, India firing in a two-punch combo to the lips but is met with a stiff right hand and return hook to the side from Nell. Towards the end, those body attacks begin to take their toll, India backing away and clutching onto her ribs with both arms, leaving her face and jawline wide open for a couple more hard slaps of leather inward. Wide round to the Vixen, who turns the tide!

ROUND 3:
India ain’t giving up her lead, however, opts to target Nell’s tummy instead and drive the fight from her lungs. Nell looks shocked and bothered at first as the two slaps of leather catch her on her firm belly, making her heave backwards. But India’s repeated targeting allows Nell to brace for impact and more importantly, protect her head instead. India goes high to the face and chin but is only met with a resilient guard. Nell backs away for now, jabs sent to the American’s head, hoping to deter her from getting in too close. It works, with India’s bluff being called and the two youngsters left circling at the bell.

ROUND 4:
Nell is told to go on the offensive, and she obliges! One thing special about the recent Vixen is her willingness to take risks, something some of her older counterparts aren’t as flexible in. The surprise rush immediately stops India in her tracks, especially when a swing to the head is intercepted just barely by a raised arm, India then taking a right hand straight to the nostrils to blast her backwards! Nell pressuring the brunette backwards, punches drummed into her tummy to drive her towards the ropes and get Eisley to drop her defenses. It works! Eisley lowers them to cover and cradle her aching body, only to take a well-placed HOOK to the chin to SWIVEL her on the spot!! DOWN INDIA GOES! The poor girl gets turned around in place, before hitting the canvas with a loud thud, completely KO’ed! Referee doesn’t bother with a full 10-count, immediately waving the rest of this fight off! It’s OVER!

Official Decision: Nell Tiger Free defeats India Eisley via KO4!

AFTER:
Big win but a more symbolic victory for Nell tonight. Sure, she beat Eisley, someone who’s never yet won a fight in the FCBA, but did so in convincing and decisive fashion. Nell grins to the crowds, raising a hand high and parading about the ring, before heading back to her corner.

“Well done, kiddo,” Corey Saucier says with a smirk and thumbs up. “Might have just saved your spot on the roster there.”

Nell nods back, partially relieved, partially disappointed at having found herself in this spot in the first place.

“When Eisley wakes up, you can tell her to keep her mouth shut,” Nell tells reporters in the post-fight press segment. “People are always underestimating me. Next month, I’m gonna be avenging an early loss in my career. And you can bet your ass I’m gonna win this time!”
