The feeling around the arena was massive excitement as Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock were going to box each other tonight for the third time. It was one win for each boxer after the second bout. This was going to be the deciding bout.

The first four rounds were punch filled as the two boxers came out swinging hard at each other. The decisions on each round were wide wins and 2 apiece for the boxers so the bout was even going into the fifth round.

Sandra came out beginning the round punching first at the redhead’s face with a quick jab and cross combination. Roberts goes to answer by shoving in a couple straights to Sandra’s midsection. Fight fans rise now as these two now go into boxing in a phone booth as the cheers in the arena increase by volume. The punching brings forth grunts and smacks from the boxers and their gloves. Julia seemed to back up during an exchange and Sandra tried to crowd her. Bullock goes to work Roberts’ body with a couple hooks oh her own. More groans now come from the redhead as she goes to circle the brunette as her gloves come up to defend her body. Sandra now finds Julia’s gloves there and she soon eats a quick left uppercut to her face which catches her unaware. The round ends with another good exchange. Sandra wins a close round here in the fifth.

Both boxers came out for the sixth round as the previous round left each with some boxing damage showing on their bodies and faces. Sandra came out with a couple quick jabs and crosses at Julia’s face but those were answered by Julia with a couple straights to her body. AND HOW THIS FIREFIGHT BEGINS! Soon it moves to the far ropes as these two grunt, groan, and smack each other about on those ropes. The crowd cheers louder now as this round moves closer to its end. JULIA UNLEASHES A FLURRY OF SHOTS TO SANDRA’S FACE AND BULLOCK GOES DOWN! Roberts is stunned as she sees Sandra on the canvas. She soon walks to a neutral corner and now the count is beginning over the brunette. Julia’s megawatt smile grew larger as Sandra was counted out on the canvas.

“I think this establishes which one of us is the better boxer,” Julia says she watched a groggy Sandra being helped back to her corner. “She puts up a good fight and, okay, she did get lucky beat me the one time, but luck couldn’t save her over the long run.”

As for Sandra, she comments later: “Julia was the lucky one to beat me twice. I will never admit she is a better fighter than me.”

Fans have continued this debate over the years and, as usual for this type of discussion, the issue remains unresolved. But fun to talk about. This fight was another great example of their rivalry.
