“If Brec thinks picking me after my fight with Avril is going to make for an easy title defense, she's made a big f*cking mistake and is even dumber than I thought.” Emma Roberts announced at the pre-fight press gathering. “I haven't forgotten her fluke of a win over me in February. That was a fight I should have won and when I take that title belt away from her tonight, that will become VERY clear!”
Brec rolls her eyes at this: “Emma, don’t strain your brain trying to figure out my fiendish plan to keep my belt out of your hot hands. Just be happy I am giving you this opportunity, though you aren’t going to be happy when I beat you—again.”
“The only unhappy one will be you, b*tch. Losing your title belt on your first defense—that will be enough to convince anyone your fluke wins over me and Dove were pure.. dumb.. LUCK. That luck is about to run out.” Emma insisted.
“It isn’t luck, Emma, I am that good, As you and everyone else will be forced to realize,” Brec with determined sincerity,
“Ha!” Emma scoffed, but Brec just smiled sweetly at her.
The night of the fight found the capacity crowd eagerly awaiting the Flyweight Title Showdown. The Challenger enters the ring first She is her Dollhouse fighting togs: white leggings with ROBERTS pink letters up the left side, pink halter top pink and white gloves with pink boots and white laces. Emma’s hair is bobbed, loose and wetted down Next comes our Defending Champion, Brec Bassinger in navy blue leggings, navy blue halter top with white trim, navy boots and gloves with white. Brec’s blonde hair is pulled back into a battle braid. The ring instructions are gotten through, but the glove tap is hard and loud. The two fighters exchange glares and depart for their corners. There is a pause—and the bell rings!
R1: Emma very aggressive as she encounters Brec at center ring. Fast hooks to the midsection and then a quick clipping right to the jaw. Brec trying to shake it off as she uses her jab against Emma, but it’s not really slowing the Challenger down. Emma moving quickly, trying to keep Brec guessing about where the next punch will be coming from. Brec getting steadily whacked from head to waist and back again. Brec gamely struggling to keep up, but by the the bell she has lost the opening round to Emma Roberts by a wide margin.
R2: Brec gets out much faster this round and she is pounding in the punches against Emma. Brec works Emma hard to the face leaving swollen, badly bruised flesh in her wake. Then it’s down to the body work hard against Emma’s ribs, abs and breasts. Now it is Emma’s turn to find herself struggling to counter a hard-punching opponent. Emma getting in some hooks and jabs, but these mostly help her avoid the embarrassment of a shutout as Brec wins the round easily.
R3: Brec right back at Emma as the new round begins. She crowd in close jerking short rights and lefts into Emma’s body. However Emma is standing he ground and gives it right back to Brec’s body. Great toe to toe action as the two petite battlers go all out in a determined effort to gain domination. Stays even much of the way, but late, Brec gets her hook in hard and solid to Emma’s belly and she starts forcing Emma to give ground. Bell sounds and it is a close one for the judges, but Brec Bassinger able to gain a narrow win on the judges’ cards.

Brec is left hearing bells and chirping birds as she stumbles back, instinctively covering her head, but Emma now can go full force into Brec to the body. Emma driving her right and left hooks to Brec’s midsection to double the young blonde up. Then she hammers Brec to the ribs and chest, driving her backwards into the ropes. Brec now pinned against the ropes and taking a fearsome body blasting beat down. However, Brec seems able to sit on the ropes, brace her feet and somehow keep standing to the bell. Emma steps back wiping her sweating brow with her forearm as Brec gingerly leaves the ropes. Emma smiles grimly as she put the hurt on the younger woman and scored a shutout in the round.
R5: PLP corner crew working hard to patch the shell shocked Brec up for the new round. Brec comes out trying to maintain a strictly defensive posture for this round. She is hunches up mitts around her head and trying evade Emma’s punching. This does not work for very long, Emma now the one crowding in and whacking hooks over and over into Brec’s belly. Just grinding action and suddenly it bears fruit: BREC BASSINGER crumbles to her knees and then to all fours. She is desperately gulping in air and trying to steady herself. Emma goes right to the neutral corner. She looks back to see Brec struggling desperately to stand and then sees Brec able to get fully erect and break the count at “NINE!”. Emma comes storming in once referee gives her the signal, but Brec is now totally face-in-gloves and Emma has to settle for trying to wear down Brec’s flanks and sides of her head. Bell ends the round and Emma has scored a big shutout round.
R6: Situation looking bleak for the Champion, but Brec shows she is not giving up. Emma comes charging in with the obvious intention of ending this quickly. Emma fires big blockbusters rights and lefts at Brec’s head, but Brec able to duck or blunt these finishing punches. Brec also able to strike back at Emma’s chin. Lightning uppercuts make Emma’s head bobble up and down as Brec’s uppercuts slam home. Emma reeling back as Brec leaps after her, but then Emma catches Brec a big right hand to the jaw. This one lands HARD. Brec spun to one side, but Emma ha to scramble to catch up to her. Brec manages to cover and a new body busting battle breaks out with Emma. The two blaze away to the body. Then Emma does a side step and WHACKS Brec on the side of the head. BREC NEARLY GOES DOWN. Brec able to stumble against the ropes t save herself, then turn back and duel with Emma. Emma trying to pin Brec to the ropes, but can’t quite pull it off before the bell. Once again we have a close round. The judges give it to Emma Roberts by a narrow margin.
R7: Brec and Emma are both out quickly for this round. Emma strikes first at Brec to the head and jaw, but Brec answer with solid clips to Emma’s chin. Two are circling and counter-circling, bobbing and weaving as they look for openings. Good steady punching from both through the first two minutes. Then Brec able to land a cracking right to the jaw and big chin chucker left. Emma’s legs go a-tremble as she lurches back. Brec hiring in more head shots, but Emma gets her mitts up to block most of these. Then Brec attacks to Emma’s midsection and hammers in the hooks. Emma trying driving Brec back with jabs to the face. Brec hanging in. Bell rings. The result is another close round, but this one Brec Bassinger was able to pull out.
R8: Brec getting cleaned up by PLP corner people especially around her bruised face. Emma getting plenty of attention from the DH crew. Bell rings and the two fighters head out.

In this moment of confusion, Brec drops down and shoots up with BOOMING RIGHT UPPERCUT TO THE CHIN! EMMA ROBERTS SHOOTS UP ON HER TOES AND THEN CRASHES ON HER BACK. Thunderbolt right puts Emma Roberts in dreamland. Brec trots to the neutral corner, but referee’s count is purely ceremonial. Emma barely able to lift her head and look around in bewilderment before official calls out:
“NINE!....TEN!....YOURE OUT!”
THE WINNER AND STILL FCBA FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION: BREC BASSINGER BY A KO8!
After:
“I guess Emma will know now that I really am superior to her,” Brec says with happy assurance. “OK she came close to beating me again—but once again, I was got up and won the fight. Gosh, this feels good! I wonder who’ll I will fight next?”
The Dollhouse and Emma Roberts have no immediate response other than to say: “Emma is recovering well and does not intend to dwell on this setback.”
Lively fight with Emma giving Brec plenty of trouble leading up to that R5 knockdown. Emma clearly had Brec hurting, but was unable to finish her off. Brec then was able to bounce back and snakebite Emma once again with a KO finisher in R8. Close call for the young Champion, but she was able to recover and hang on to that Title Belt. Exciting fight for the fans and they look forward to seeing what happens to Brec Bassinger next month. |
