BEFORE: It's time for another Romanian adventure for Lily Aldridge who gives Nicoleta Vaculov a chance to make her official FCBA debut tonight. Lily knocked out Catrinel Menghia back in January and admits she picked the Romanian newcomer in order to break the mini-slump after losing to Sandra Kubicka and Adriana Lima in recent months. Nicoleta remains a mysterious prospect even though she disrobes into a very revealing bikini outfit in the ring. Oh yeah, even Lily is impressed by that body however she vows to get on with it and offer the buxom newcomer no favors whatsoever.
Lily Aldridge wears a leopard print bikini set & red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a curled ponytail. Nicoleta Vaculov wears a violet bikini set & silver gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Lily wastes no time to welcome the fellow model to the ring and blasts her from both flanks forcing a hectic response from the newcomer. She lands a couple of good hooks into the American's face but Lily quickly restores order and nails the younger brunette on each temple before switching low to punish the midsection. Nicoleta tries to stay in the exchange but gets picked off regardless and has to yield real estate which only allows Lily to smack her with additional jabs. She pushes the Romanian model onto the ropes and keeps working on her body until Vaculov simply has to clinch the Lioness veteran into safety to limit the damage.
Round 2:
Cruise control for Lily early in the second but she avoids a hectic jabbing rush from the Romanian foe; Nicoleta gets more aggressive after that poor opening round but can't quite dominate the American in either range. She gets blocked off close and misses from afar. Lily refuses to apply the swarming gear and settles down to see what the rookie model can offer here... the answer is mixed as Nicoleta works the jabbing combo with great precision but lacks the genuine power supply according to most pundits & fans. However she nails Aldridge on the nose later on and backs her onto the ropes which forces the American to kick into a higher gear. Vaculov hauls in a left hook on the jaw though and buries the stunned fellow brunette behind a lenghty jabbing rush in the closing seconds.
Round 3:
Nicoleta finds more jabbing success and Lily realizes the sparring approach should be put to rest now. She tries to smack it up the middle but the younger model keeps working in high-octane fashion and simply lands all the crowd-pleasing leather to bounce the American around the ring. Lily gets desperate to drill some body shots but eats a left hook over the top and slumps on the ropes where Vaculov traps her with slugging pressure. Ugh! Lily tries to swing back from behind the guard but gets pounded across her face and Nicoleta even tries to bury some leather into her chest to gain additional support from the audience. Ugh! Aldridge bends to the side unable to escape the heat and almost goes down wholesale after the rookie whacks her on the exposed liver area and barely misses the money shot here!
Round 4:
Nicoleta feels like she can blow Lily up right here but gets beaten for a right-on-right exchange and fails to buckle up when the older model drills through her chest in swift response. Ugh! Vaculov gets stuffed on her heels before Lily steps up to deliver a right hook on the jaw. Uh-oh! This punch rattles the Romanian model into instant spasms and she wobbles forward to meet a crushing uppercut on the jaw moments later. DOWN GOES THE ROOKIE!!! Lily yells out in delight and walks back to her corner leaving Nicoleta shake & very much stirred on the canvas. There is no genuone effort to beat the count so the referee waves it off at six. KO4 Lily Aldridge!!!
AFTER: No real surprise in the end but the Santa Monica model was lucky to escape a difficult spell without damage before coming back to knock the rookie out. It's tough to predict where Nicoleta goes from here, there are several exciting models sitting on the free market and they usually serve as undercard cannon fodder but maybe the Romanian brunette enjoys a better hand like her compatriot Alina Vacariu. Only time will tell though.
