BEFORE:

There's nothing more dangerous than someone with nothing to lose. And, that's definitely where Laura finds herself coming into this one. She's giving away nearly two decades to tonight's opponent, and, oh yes, she's lugging around a career record of 0-31 in the FCBA. Samara, meanwhile, has PLENTY to lose. After a brilliant start to her FCBA career, she's been up and down since being stopped by Lili Reinhart back in 2020. There have been impressive wins over folks like Kosarin and and tough losses. But, Weaving looks to be getting untracked off consecutive wins over Taylor-Joy and Lynch, and she certainly doesn't want to be derailed in this one.

ROUND ONE:

Nothing to lose. So, Laura, who has some reach here, simply walks in behind the jab and gets to bangin'. Thing is, ruthless aggression is the biggest arrow in Samara's quiver. She's more than willing to trade bombs with the brunette, so it's ON! Ladies just sitting down on everything and letting the fists fly, and, records be damned, the crowd is LOVING it. First Laura, then Samara takes a big right hand. Both shake the punches off and keep coming. There's TONS of leather flying, and things are getting a BIT sloppy at times, but it's not degenerating into a brawl. The ladies are setting up punches, blocking and slipping, all while concentrating on piling up as much punishment as possible. At the bell, it's close, but it's Weaving who's gotten more done, taking the round and the 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

Same again. And, why wouldn't it be? Pausini's going to push all the chips into the middle of the table, and Weaving's more than ready to match her. So, it's HAMMER AND TONGS in there, as the ladies rip punches to head and, at times, body, looking not to impose will but to FINISH this thing and right now. And, both are landing stuff that would have put lesser bantams on the canvas by now, hard, straight right hands, nasty short hooks. But, both sturdy beauties take the licking and keep on tick...BOOM! Right hand, SAMARA and LAURA IS HURT! Pausini stumbles backward, nearly goes down. Weaving lets the hands go, landing a BRUTAL six punch combination and DOWN GOES THE ITALIAN! Laura dropped sputtering to her back as Samara heads to a neutral corner. Pausini gets to hands and knees at seven, but can do no more before the count passes her by. It's OVER! And your winner by KO2 is Samara Weaving!

AFTER:

Samara's puffy. She's taken a lot of punishment. But, the lovely Aussie is clearly pleased at having dished out even more. "I wasn't going to play around with her," Weaving says with a smile. "I'm better. I was always going to prove it. So, there you are. Now, who's next?"
