Luisana Lopilato vs Troian Bellisario

Luisana:
(34, 5’6, 115, 36:14 FCBA, VIXENS)

Troian:
(37, 5’7, 39:31 FCBA, Pretty Little Punches Inc.)

BEFORE:
Luisa looks confident coming into this fight to round off 2022, currently on a seven-fight winning streak with every intention of climbing up the Bantamweight ladder to break into the Top 20.

“Loads of respect for Troian, who’s seen and done it all,” Luisana says by ringside, looking fit as a fiddle in her cotton bralette top and matching white briefs. “Of course, the emphasis is on the past tense. Troian WAS a champion way back in 2017, and when I beat her, it’s a signal to the rest of the division that I mean business.”

Troian, of course, not seeing it that way, listening to the interview broadcasted to the entire stadium, before folding blue gloves across a white sports top, and responding in kind:

“At least my last title shot was last year. When has Luisa ever come close to clinching the gold?” Troian says, being dismissive of the Vixen’s prospects. “Look, there are some fighters in this league… we just KNOW they aren’t EVER going to hold a title. Luisana being one of them.”

Stern glares later in the center of the ring, with Lopilato narrowing her eyes in response to Bellisario’s comments, and Troian, being slightly taller and more slender, treating the blonde Argentinian like she doesn’t belong in the same ring as her. They separate without a touch of the gloves, and head back to the corner to await the bell.

Referee obliging the start of this match, and with a wave of his hand, HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Early strafing from Troian, who shows off her speed despite being close to 40 by this point. She peppers Luisana with shots, frustrating the Vixen’s attempts to get in close and score. Lopilato lunging back, albeit recklessly, pounding away at Troian’s guard but not getting many through to the veteran’s vulnerable bits. Troian instead controlling the eager Vixen, on the backpedal but landing jabs to her face and body, then swerving out of the way of any return fire. By the bell, Lopilato might need to reevaluate her strategy, losing out by a close margin, but it could have been much, much worse.

ROUND 2:
Lopilato hangs back and returns fire, and this new strategy appears to work for a while. Troian gets stunned by the Vixen’s power, wincing as each of her combos is met by a similar response, but packed with more sting. Lopilato stuffs another one-two into the American’s lips, before going to the side body with more throbbing hooks to the ribcage. Troian picks up the pace of her retreat, but Luisa chooses not to follow, the blonde already securing this round wide by the second minute. Last portion of the round and they circle and trade leather to the guard, but Bellisario’s unable to make a dent in her foe’s lead.

ROUND 3:
A similar round here, with Luisa hanging back and hammering Bellisario when she gets within range. The veteran fighter can’t attack what she can’t respond to, and Lopilato employing a counter-punching strategy of her own is throwing a spanner into her works. The veteran eats another faceful of leather when her feint to the body is met with a swift overhand to the middle of her face, throwing her head back and forcing another retreat. Luisa chases her down this time, throwing combos all over to secure another wide round for herself by the bell. So far, so good, with Lopilato looking set to win this fight outright…

ROUND 4:
Troian’s still struggling, but actually benefiting from a sudden rush from Lopilato in the very first minute. The Vixen’s overeagerness punishes herself, as Troian weathers the early flurry to the arms and then bashes a hook of her own across the blonde’s cheek, which blunts her momentum in a heartbeat. Luisana looks stunned but keeps on coming. It’s not enough to win another outright round, however, as her attacks are met by Bellisario’s lowered guard, both ladies huffing and breathing hard, trying to bash the tummy with low, elbowed hooks, or go up high and stun the other girl with one to the head. An all-out brawl, if we can say so, by the time the bell rings. Luisana takes it three in a row now, though Troian’s response to her energy is promising, and a sign that this fight is far from over.

ROUND 5:
Troian begins fighting back, swift responses to Luisana’s flurries as she tags the Vixen back on her face and body. Luisa is still trying to pressure and stalk in, but if she thought Bellisario was on the ropes, she’s clearly mistaken, as another overhand counter-strike hits her square between the eyes, throwing her head back. The Vixen is forced to retreat into a mutual dance, and all she can do is trade leather with the lanky brunette from afar. There’s a glint in Troian’s eyes, having been in previous situations before, and still coming out on top. Round ends and another of Lopilato’s rushes gets turned away, literally, Troian punting her head to the side with a well-timed fist to the side profile. Lopilato looks battered by the bell, but more frustrated, panting heavily as she shakes her head on the way to the corner. Can she turn this around?

ROUND 6:
Luisana’s getting hurt, taking punishing blows to her face as she struggles to cover up and run against a resurgent Bellisario. The PLP starlet looks focused and intent on pushing in, sending targeted shots high and low, shoving straight fists into the Argentinian’s body to push her towards the ropes. Luisana swings back, of course, but not landing, Troian swerving to avoid those lumberous items. Another straight hand catches Luisa straight to the face, making her gurgle and wilt slightly against the ropes. NOT a good look for the Vixen, who looks as far away from being dominant in this stage of her career! Another HOOK to the temple sends her spinning down the line, and Lopilato simply COLLAPSES onto her face by the ropes! She’s barely able to lift her head during the referee’s 10-count, and sooner rather than later, it’s all OVER via KO6!

Official Decision: Troian Bellisario defeats Luisana Lopilato via KO6!

AFTER:
Bellisario looks confident in this win, pumping a fist in the air before circling the posts to receive her cheers and whistles.

“This is why you don’t play with fire,” Troian says to reporters, still smiling wide. “Luisa has a ways to go before she can even THINK about holding up the championship belt.”

Lopilato not hearing, or pretending not to hear, looking close to tears as she recuperates in her corner, Co-Head Trainer Corey Saucier draping a towel over her shoulders and trying to encourage her not to give up. The blonde’s longest streak has been broken tonight, and one wonders how this will affect her plans going into 2023?
