One lightweight on the way up; another on the way down? That’s the way some are viewing this matchup between 30 year old Italian with the sparkling 18-10 record and the “Chin Checker”, who hits the BIG 40 in a couple of months and a career record nearing the .500 mark at 46-43. Others point out that it’s not that long ago that Big Adrianne had the lightweight AND welterweight belts around her trim waist. In ten rounds or less, there will be an answer.

Round 1: Fradegrada circling immediately, a little tentative looking to box. American stalking. Valentina flicking range finder type jab - trying to control distance. Adrianne times one and pounces, fires the big right and grazes brunette temple but with Palicki hitting power it puts a shimmy in Fradegrada’s knees. Model looks to clinch but Adrianne violent and working hands free. Pummels midriff with left right combination, the sneaks inside left upper cut that kisses chin -again Valentina hurt! Desperate, she lashes back with wild left hook. Palicki slips it and backs off to measure opponent. Round end with fighter studying each other, lots of feints, but American did plenty - no doubt who gets the first round!

Rounds 2 and 3: Valentina out of corner dukes high in classic boxing stance, Palicki with left hanging low and that dreaded diamond cutter right cocked. Italian able to work the perimeter, sharpshooting with the jab, occasionally following up with the right hand. Leggy speed of the model giving the American fits. Tired of that jab in her face, lanky Palicki starts reaching - wild with right hand counter - and any one who knows boxing will tell you few things are more tiring than MISSING punches. Moving on to third and Italian is getting brave - following up jab with straight right hand, occasionally leading with right - pounding blonde girl to the forehead and sternum. Palciki uncharacteristically sluggish with counters. Valentina takes consecutive rounds and having her way with the former champion down the stretch.

Thumps American rib cage with showy bolo punch that draws a roar from the crowd. Fradegrada feints with left jab, throws right hand lead … and ITALIAN GIRL DOWN!!! Palicki snakes neck back and throw her own right and its the freakin’ Hammer of Thor! Valentina pitches forward face first - referee foregoes count, waives it off and rolls her onto her back to get her mouthpiece out. Winner by fourth round knockout in violent fashion … the Chin-Checker - Adrianne Palicki!
