Cree Cicchino vs Mille Bobby Brown (Flyweight Title)
(Words & Results: Lookout!)
BEFORE: It’s a rematch of their intense bout from October, but now with added stakes, as this is the final match of the Stable War and this time for the flyweight title. It only adds to the excitement and buzz surrounding the match as both fighters are eager to get at one another, with the referee working overtime from the start to keep them both apart. It’s a lot of work as the fans are cheering them both on to get the flyweight title started and both fighters appear equally excited.
“Last time, Millie got lucky. I know i’m better than her and tonight, I’m going to prove it. There is no question that I deserve to be the face of the flyweight division and hold the title. When we win this stable war, people will remember that I ended the night holding gold and making Millie cry.” Cree declares confidently.
Millie smirking, “I love Cree and I love her enthusiasm. But, there’s a reason I won last time and that’s because I’m on another level than her. While she does have a face for the flyweight division, it’s a very punchable one. No matter who ends up winning the Stable War, I can guarantee you I won’t be crying and I’m walking out of her the same way I did: Flyweight Champion.”
And with that, the bell rings and the flyweight champion bout begins…!
During R1,2: Spirited negotiations - both girls very professional, no-nonsense. Orderly turn taking - one covers up, the other pastes away in combination, then they switch. Both rounds settle into methodical seek-and-destroy sessions as girls lean in behind gloves, bumping guards and looking to clean up short rights and lefts. Mirror image stuff: tight deliveries, similar punch selection - both girls placing spanky little hooks in each other's ribs; scraping away tidy little uppercuts in close; stubby-jabbing into each other's prepared defences. Neither fighter giving up the home-run: both forced to put the work into opposing biceps, ribs, tummies in the hopes of loosening sturdy defenses. Cree takes the first, Millie the second.
R3: Same approach - girls edging in close behind raised guards, looking to bump-n'-punch. Cree digging hooks to Millie's breadbasket and ribs gets much the better of it, winning grunts and frowns from a retreating Brown. Cree stepping-with, crouching forward with her head, nudging Millie, then ripping her hooks while keeping the right nice and high: Cicchino just gnawing on her girl, all around the ring. Down the stretch, Cree digs her umpteenth hook to Millie's waistline, then jerks the left uppercut between opposing mitts: Brown staggered for the first time, put wobbly butt - she tilts forward behind her mitts, sopping up a tasty thumping about her ears and flanks to bell.
R4: Millie snarling, eyes flashing: she gets back every one of those punches Cree smote her in the third. Grim, grudging retreat from Cicchino as she's outworked: brunette grimacing, dukes at temples as Millie roots Cree out of her positions. Millie working off a stiff, prodding jab - seeking hooks and short, chopping rights, pasting Cree upstairs and down. Cicchino struck a tangy right to chin to put her wobbly butt one minute in; struck a gorgeous, swinging hook to floating rib 2 minutes in, driving her to ropes with a stricken expression. Brown's turn to clean up: she squares away, lets her hands go - ponytail twitching side to side as she beats Cree's flanks pink.
R5: Cree lumping up, mouthbreathing: she commits her reserves in a fresh attempt to keep up the momentum. Works: Millie thrown back onto the defensive - face tight as she keeps her dukes up, rolling clubbing shots about her head and shoulders. Cree working hard - flurrying to Millie's guts, then trying to hook her lights out: Millie's body proves sturdy, sponges up a beating while maintaining the rigid blocking defense. It's all Cree bell to bell, though Millie still standing at the end of the round.
R6: Millie surges to the attack, correctly reading Cree's stamina deficit. Millie stepping to Cree now, bumping guards, then hooking waist and ribs: Cicchino cringing, biting down on sobs as she backs away. Brown gobbling up canvas, greedily walking her girl down, keeping the leather on: poor Cree Cicchino has nowhere to turn. Beating goes bell to bell, frequently rocking Cicchino. Cree's head jerking back from short, shrugging uppercuts on the inside, and her body's starting to quit a bit as brunette clinches after shipping bodyblows. Brown walking her girl to ropes and working her over with coldblooded efficiency: tucking in behind the elbows, staying on those lungs, roasting Cree's jugs for the first time as brunette visibly breaks down by the bell.
R7: Cicchino up off her stool, but shopworn, clearly frazzled: but she still wants more Millie. The first two minutes are intense, both of them fighting in a phonebooth, hammering back and forth at one another. As they Millie reading the situation - quickly gets on top with her jab knuckling at Cree's brows, herding brunette to ropes. Thick right/left pastes waist: Cicchino groaning, sits into ropes, dukes at temples. Cue beatdown: Millie squares away, swabs her foe's pale lower back, then shoulders her upright into ropes the better to get at her tummy. It's all too much - Millie not really loading up, but helping herself in brisk, overwhelming volume: Cree swoons against ropes, head lolling, guard limp. Ref steps in, cradling stunned brunette to safety: TKO7 Brown.
AFTER: Millie obviously ecstatic after being able to take down Cree to retain her flyweight championship and keep her unbeaten streak going just a little longer. Every month is huge and every win is big, with few bigger than this. Cree is one of the best young fighters in the FCBA and Millie able to take her down twice now. Cree certainly hoping third time will be a charm, but for now, Millie gets to celebrate. Millie taking a well-deserved victory lap, holding up her title with one hand and the other hand patting her firm abs to show off the flyweight body that is on top of the division. Millie making it clear in her post-match statements that she plans to keep it that way.
“Listen, all due respect to Cree who is one of my favorite opponents so far and always pushes me to be my best, but there’s a reason why I actually am the best. The flyweight division needs new blood to keep it fresh and keep it relevant. Keep sending me anybody and everybody - because at the end of the night, I’ll be at the same place I am with the division - standing over everybody else looking down. On top and prepared to teach anybody who underestimates, disrespects or doubts me a much needed lesson, right?” as she holds up the belt with both hands, walking to all four corners as she holds up the belt. Occasionally patting her tummy, thrusting her fist into the air, blowing kisses to the fans and holding up one finger to show her place in the division, absorbing the cheers of the fans as they chant her name.
(IBB: 4 - Lookout! - 3) - Congratulations to MBB on retaining her title, but a huge well-deserved congratulations to IBB for winning the Stable War!
