(Words: O & E / Results: Lookout!)

Before: Both fighters on the cusp, need this win badly to stay in the bantamweight title picture.
It’s a recipe for a barnburner, and there’s no reason to believe we’re in for anything but!

Kaya wearing a red sports bra, red trunks with black stripes down the sides, matching shoes, black gloves and her hair tied into a ponytail. She bounces on her toes as she looks at her opponent with a hard stare. Samara in a black triangle-cut bikini top and matching trunks, black gloves, hair loose and shoulder-length.

R1: Samara batting gloves together, wading into Kaya...AND REJECTED! Scodelario scrubs rangy rights and lefts across the face and breasts of her foe, flurrying like a maniac. Weaving rebuffed, angered, tries again and again to storm up the middle: Kaya hustling lanky - awkward pushy scrub-action not hurting Samara, but buffetting her enough to allow the Brit to sidestep away. Scodelario in retreat, but beating Weaving to punches, snapping the right into the face enough to keep the Aussie from setting and getting off!

R2: Kaya scowling, leggy - using the ring, getting around with a very pretty heel-and-toe stepping, hands relaxed at her chest. Samara prowling forward, looking to take Scodelario's head off with reaching hooks, or looping overhand rights, Brit basically outrunning the punches, keeping her distance. Kaya getting her jab on Samara - nice little chipping shot off the front) foot - very economical punch, small glove scraping off Aussie chin or mouth. Right hands delivered off the front foot as well - straight pokes to Weaving's left eye - then Scodelario's stepping out, unwilling to risk extended trade with the Aussie. Samara the aggressor, hounding Kaya all over the ring and occasionally chasing her into the ropes for some thumping connects to the torso and flanks - Brit adept at pulling down on blonde head and spinning 'round to get out of trouble. Scodelario opportunistic, scuffing at Weaving's face with either hand, but also landing a pair of late hooks rigid to sternum to show some usefulness to the body. Samara's round - but Kaya fighting smart, effectively denying the Aussie the opportunity to tee off.

R3: KAYA’S ALL IN! Starts when a trade in breathing right hands goes her way: Samara’s head flinging back, her right hand sailing as her knees nearly corkscrew to mat, blonde blinking in stupor, staggering in fence-post holes. Scodelario with an extended left at Weaving’s chest pushes the blonde back to ropes, labels her a clubbing right to the face--crowd roaring as Samara relaxes into the ropes, staring bleak into the punishment. PUMPING assault to tummy--wiry Kaya hunkering down , elbows drawing back before thrusting mitt into meat--poor Weaving gasping, reaching ‘round shoulders to clinch, but she’s too hurt to tie up. Scodelario in there rummaging, pushing at biceps to jostle Samara upright, then pounding away at the torso just REAMING in punches! Poor Weaving, can’t take any more to her tummy and rack, turns to her right sagging into the ropes, giving up her left side and back. Kaya left hand on Samara’s left shoulder for balance, sweeps a right to buttock, then slams her in the lower back., Weaving wilting, sobbing into her gloves: Scodelario smashing away righty as SAMARA WILTS TO HER KNEES! Kaya triumphant--lifting her mitts and bellowing: Weaving hauling herself up by the ropes sits in the ropes to run out the clock.

R4: Hot two-way tossing, Kaya looking to close out, completes her work on Samara's left eye this round, finally tap-tap-tapping it shut. Weaving mounts several successful walking barrages to drive Scodelario ropeside, bludgeoning brunette as she rolls her torso on wide-spread feet at the apron. Girls digging tummy as they lay in mouth-on-shoulder, Kaya finally willing to stand and work with Samara. Kaya warned for using her mitts to tug at Samara’s top, pulling and spinning the blonde. Weaving responds with a left-hand tug of Scodelario's crimson waistband, lashing overhand rights as brunette’s pulled into grinding forehead-to-forehead brutality. Both girls establishing rhythm - pushing in on each other to swat short, curling punches into offending paunch, rib or jaw, writhing for position underneath - plenty of loose-limbed, casual holding and hitting going on as girls jockey and stagger for position in the grapple. Warnings start to flow - for the holding, for the tousle-grinding, for the shoulder-butts to either mouth, for the little top and trunk tugs both girls use to pull at each other as they wallow in the muck for a messy draw.

R5: Kaya stakes out midring - loose crouch, front foot forward, but weight on the back leg. Pesky jab - thumb up - not turning it over - just jamming it into Samara's face, doubling it up. Pinging criss-cross right hands - scraping the hairline: Scodelario not committing forward, content to score and slide. Kaya boxes out the first two minutes - dousing jabs, steering the blonde off to either side, sidestepping her. Final minute, Samara steps in long with the left foot - hauls a murderous overhand right over top: Scodelario leans back to evade it, lets her hands down to balance. Weaving steps in with the right foot, sweeping a left cross onto Kaya's chin: big head-swivel, as she's caught her Brit flush. KAYA GOES DOWN! Ugly knockdown as Scodelario's body goes limp - head lolling forward as she collapses sideways into ropes, then falls to her back with legs straight and stiff. Kaya parallel to ropes, hands at her sides, she's blinking trying to shake off the KO, but it's NO GO! KO5 for Samara Weaving as she shakes off the title loss in style.

After: Dramatic sea changes in this bout, Kaya buckling Samara early, but spending up a lot of energy in an attempt to close the fight out left the door open for a comeback. Scodelario a sobbing wreck, shouldn’t be too hard on herself. Weaving a battered victor shouldn’t be too proud. “I don’t want to hear any crap about a lucky punch,” spits Samara in-ring afterwards. “I was walking her down, wearing her out and I was setting that punch up all the way. She was right where I wanted her!”
