BEFORE: Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo has struggled for good results last season and accepting Selena Gomez's challenge might not be the best idea out there however the FMF entourage believes the athletic pageant-turned-model should handle whatever the Texas singer has to offer with room to spare. Selena comes off a routine victory over fellow Disney teenage star Hilary Duff which earned her little fanfare but it's difficult to keep the engine running hot all the time and the numerous championship setbacks have produced more questions than answers how Gomez can finally get over that last hurdle. Taking notes from stablemate Minka Kelly might be a good solution if only Selena's early career stardom is exactly the opposite of what Minka found to motivate her against the odds.

Round 1:
Selena gets off to a fast start which catches the model by surprise and allows the former title challenger to smack some easy leather up the middle but it's not that easy to break Culpo off her stride and the Lioness plan is to stay away from that athletic frame of hers. Selena glues her mitts into the fellow brunette's face but she struggles to land that big punch and has to settle for sheer work rate value come the second minute while Olivia doesn't really find the best response sending most of her punches sky high for some reason. She loses an early chance to make immediate impression and has to fend off a gut-checking burst in the final minute, that's not what Eva Mendes planned for the singer so there's still a heated argument between the two during the break even though Gomez clearly won the opener on points.
Round 2:
Olivia cracks a solid combo to the body and drills the singer's midriff in the phone booth enforcing her presence with great finesse and driving Selena away from her striking range. However the Texas native still loops a response over the top and hopes to catch the former Miss Universe with one of these high-octane shots alas she falls into more gut-checking trouble as Culpo shows above average resistance and powers ahead with her own game plan. She bullies Gomez to the body and chases her around the area to bump her butt-in-ropes come the final minute where she beats her in a heads up slugging dispute rocking the Latina's head back & forth the point Eva Mendes loses her patience in the LCA corner again. Bell and we're even at 19.
Round 3:
More slugging success for Olivia who puts supreme weight behind her shots and dominates the exchange in the center of the ring. Selena hangs on with the fellow brunette but always eats that last mean punch and cuts a frustrated figure when Culpo begins to dance around her in confident fashion and picks her spots where to dissect the singer's high guard. Meanwhile Selena's head-hunting attack has become way too predictable at this stage and Olivia can easily sidestep into safety while keeping her own aerial pressure on. She knocks Gomez out & about to carry the round on points even though the Lioness fighter suffered minimal damage overall.
Round 4:
Another slugging burst from Olivia who carries the supreme power and smacks Selena upstairs which triggers a hectic back & forth exchange as the Latina fighter refuses to go down to the body. She still thinks she can knock Culpo's head off but gets dragged into a dangerous war of attrition since the former pageant winner can dish out plenty of heat despite coming off a mediocre season. The hunt for that one haymaker blast continues much to the crowd's delight and both women begin to lose their momentum as they rain punches in mind over matter fashion. Selena finally decides to stick it to the body but eats a quick uppercut reply that allows Olivia to explore that hole from the inside; she tags the singer's chin several times and drops her back to the ropes where Gomez has to clinch the fellow brunette at the last moment but Olivia still drills a couple of hard shots around the liver area.
Round 5:
Olivia feels like she can outlast the singer and this is what worries the Lioness entourage as well so Selena is send to deliver the slugging heat to stop the pageant's run of form. The back & forth tussle continues with defense taking the back seat and Culpo is really happy to flex her muscles and ride with the aggressive burst as she adds some visible lumps into the singer's face as the time goes on. Ugh! Selena looks worse to wear but keeps that spark in the eye as she knocks a left/right combo on the temples and drills Olivia on the nose before a hard body shot bends the pageant winner to the side after all. Woof. Gomez waited for her moment and she gashes the briefly stunned opponent with more of these gut shots; she drives her onto the ropes and drills more of the stomach before a swift uppercut switch tags the breasts and leaves Culpo yelping in sudden pain at the bell.
Round 6:
Selena fires more head-hunting terror before another body assault switch drills Olivia's navel and wobbles her into a chin-checking nightmare moments later. Uh-oh! The former Miss Universe struggles to adjust to the change of pace and gets caught by another vicious uppercut combo before Gomez slams a right hook on the nose that opens a bloody stream upon impact. Olivia wobbles to her heels and cries out over the spilled red paint so she doesn't react in time when the singer SMOKES her with another right hook on the mouth. DOWN GOES CULPO!!! A hard contact with the boards spells 'game over' for the Rhode Island model who rolls onto her left side with eyes closed and makes no genuine effort to beat the count. KO6 Selena Gomez!!!
AFTER: Another hard-earned victory for Selena who still shakes her head when talking to coach Eva Mendes. She got away with this one while Olivia let another probable win slip through her fingers in puzzling fashion. The athletic model has all the tools to become a force in the division but her questionable punching resistance notoriously lets her down over and over again!
