Before:
The second Fates versus Vixens fight of the night comes at lightweight as Taylor Swift and Eden Cohen add another chapter to the rivalry. Cohen is one of the FCBA’s fastest rising stars and after a loss in a body saddle match to her stablemate and the woman who Taylor took the mistress of the body saddle title from of Alexis Ren a win would be a welcome momentum boost. Taylor did not get out to the start of the year she wanted either after losing a body saddle match to her bitter rival Kendall Jenner she is looking for another girl to beat and get her moxie back with the deciding fight in her own bitter best of seven series against a stablemate happening this year.
In the press conference neither woman waits before insulting her foe. “Taylor is a has been and that body saddle should be back with a VIX girl.” Eden says. “I am going to prove that I am one of the best tonight when I beat her and ride her around the ring.”
Taylor fires back, “Eden thinks she is something hot because she beat Alexis Ren in a few gimmick fights. I’ll take her down even though she isn’t worth my time and make a point to Emily DiDonato tonight that no model is safe from me.”
Swift is the first girl out from the back and the singer is wearing a navy sports bra and spandex bottoms that show off her long legs to go with matching gloves. Eden steps out seconds later and is wearing a beige sports bra with white bottoms and gloves and her hair up in a ponytail for the fight. The two girls stare each other down and refuse to touch gloves when the referee asks them to and he calls for the bell.
Round 1:
The bad blood between Fates and Vixens is well documented and the fight starts off with both Taylor and Eden trading blows with each other. Swift is quick to use her reach to get an advantage and Cohen backs up with her guard up. Taylor on the chase and she feints left before driving a right into Eden’s gloves. Cohen blocks the blow and works a short right into Swift’s body from close range but the singer uses her long legs to separate from the smaller girl and use her jabs again. Taylor lands a right into Eden’s face and the VIX girl retreats. Swift gives chase but she can’t corner the smaller girl and the two start circling each other. Taylor again using that jab to keep Eden at bay and the bell rings. Swift gets most of the offense in the first round between these two top lightweights.
Round 2:
Swift goes right back to back to her jab to start the second and she lands a left out of the gates but Cohen drops back and forces Swift to chase her. Taylor with a long right but Eden dodges the blow and comes up with an uppercut to the singer’s chin and Taylor is wobbly early! Eden’s eyes grow large and she follows up with a hook to Taylor’s jaw and the taller girl is in the ropes. Swift covering up as Cohen works her body and digs in two big rights to her torso. Taylor clinches and the ref pulls the two women apart. Swift with a quick right out of the break into Cohen’s shoulder but the smaller girl is already moving and she tags the bigger girl back with a right. Taylor drops back with her long stride and the bell rings before Eden can land more punches as the VIX girl evens up the fight on points.
Round 3:
The VIX darts out of her corner to start the third and she starts the round with a stick and shift approach and tags the blonde with a left to start. Cohen dekes right and hammers the singer’s flank. Swift winces as Cohen continues to find her ribs and the singer clinches for separation. The two girls circle and Swift warily waits for Cohen to make her move. The VIX girl again shifts right but this time the Fates fighter tags her with a straight right. Eden drops back as Taylor follows up with a left that connects with the air her head just was at. The two girls start circling and again Taylor goes back to those crisp jabs won her the lightweight title and retained it for nine straight defenses. Cohen with plenty of tape and she keeps her distance with her gloves up and the round comes to an end with Eden winning it on points.
Round 4:
Cohen emerges more confident to start the fourth and she drives in for a short right but Swift reads her like a book and snaps her head back with a left. Eden brings her gloves up in time to block Taylor’s right follow up. Swift shifts to body and Cohen is quick on the clinch before Taylor can land more punches. Taylor chasing Eden out of the break and the singer lands a right into her chest before taking a right in return from the model. Swift bigger and she uses her size to bully the smaller girl back into the ropes. Taylor with a body blow and she keeps Eden in the ropes but the VIX girl finds Taylor’s tender ribs and Swift instinctively protects herself and leaves her head open for a blow from Cohen at the bell. Taylor furious with the ref thinking the blow came after the ding but the ref insists fair game as the fight is tied on points.
Round 5:
Taylor bounces out of her corner and she drives a hard right into Eden’s gloves before sticking her in her body. Cohen grimaces but comes back with a right of her own into Swift’s midriff to draw a grunt out of the singer. Taylor nudges Eden back and the two women start circling. Swift with a right feint and Cohen shifts her gloves and Swift connects with a left hook that swivels the model’s head and on comes Swift! Taylor with a follow up right that snaps Eden’s head back and the model is covering up in the ropes. The ref’s watching closely as Eden manages to keep her gloves up but the pounding takes a toll as she winces as she clinches. Swift keeps up the pressure after the break and Cohen’s midriff is a bright red as the bell rings after a dominant round by Swift to bring the fight to its halfway point.
Round 6:
Swift with a fury in her eyes and she opens with another hard jab at Cohen but the singer’s legs buckle as the model dodges the blow and lands a left into her chin! Eden snaps back her foe’s head with a right and now Taylor’s covering up. Cohen with a short right off of Swift’s gloves before she finds the singer’s midriff and nearly doubles her over with a blow to her liver. Taylor clinches and gets a needed few seconds. Eden fakes left and tags Swift’s ribs but she takes a blow back to her face. Swift steps forward to take advantage but she’s sluggish and Cohen slips under the singer’s blow to find her tender midriff and bury another blow into it. Swift again wraps up Cohen and the bell rings. The referee peels Swift off of Cohen and the singer’s clutching her torso as she heads back to her corner after a surging Cohen takes the sixth on points.
Round 7:
Taylor leaves her corner on wobbly legs while Eden now has the fury in her eyes as she wallops the singer’s body out of the gates. Taylor with her guard up but she smaller girl works around her gloves and tags her tender midriff. Swift gasps and Cohen splits the taller girl’s gloves with a right. Taylor’s arms flare out and Eden follows up with two blows into the singer’s face and down goes Taylor! Eden may have a right to ask for a body saddle title bout after this but Taylor has to get counter out first. Swift shakes her head as she gets to all fours. The ref’s count is at five and the blonde gets to one knee before forcing herself up at seven. The ref gives the mandatory and waves Cohen back in. Eden with a short right into Taylor’s ribs again and the singer doesn’t have much left as she covers up and backs off. Cohen surges forward but she gets rocked! Swift somehow with haymaker that stops Cohen in her tracks but she can’t follow up before the bell. Both women took a beating in the seventh and this fight will continue.
Round 8:
Somehow both women exit their corners after seven rounds of bruising fists. Cohen less mobile on her feet and Swift’s punches lack the crispness they had to start the fight. Taylor with a left that crashes into Eden’s shoulder and knocks the model off her balance as she staggers back. Eden finds her feet again and drives a left into Taylor’s chest in return. Taylor takes the punches and connects with a hook to Eden’s jaw and the model nearly goes down! Cohen with her gloves up as Swift pounds her guard and punches start to get through her protection. Taylor connects with Eden’s mouth with a right that splits her gloves before driving an uppercut between her arms and into Eden’s chin. The model crashes to the canvas and the ref starts the count. Cohen struggles to get her arms underneath her and the ref’s already at the count of six. Eden gets to all fours but the ref’s at the count of nine! He counts out ten and Cohen is still on all fours and your winner by KO8, Taylor Swift!
After:
Swift visibly thankful the fight is over as she drapes herself over the ropes to catch her breath while the VIX trainers tend to one of their girls defeated by a Fates member for the second time in the night. Cohen nearly took down Swift earlier and would have had a right to challenge the singer for the body saddle title but the fight clearly took a toll on Swift too. The leggy pop princess normally saddles the girls she defeats but the blonde is spent and she barely celebrates as the model is helped out of the ring.
When asked about the fight, Taylor keeps her comments brief. “Eden is a tough fighter.” The press follows up with questions about her stablemate Emily DiDonato who is fighting for the title later tonight and rumors are that the two Fates lightweights will have their deciding match in their best of seven series. Swift again keeps her comments brief. “I will ride her. That is a promise.”
Cohen talks to the press later and is clearly disappointed with her loss. “I gave Taylor a real challenge in the ring. Not a lot of girls do that.” Cohen pauses. “I will get her back and when I do I will take that body saddle away from her. Nobody can stop me.” |
