MARGOT ROBBIE VS NAOMI SCOTT

Naomi: 29 YO, 5’6 (1.68 m) 24-11-0, 24 KO since 2017) Foxfire Boxing

Before: Big fight for Naomi Scott, the former FCA Bantam Champ was traded by her HISC stable to Foxfire Boxing.

“Of course, I want to show Foxfire they signed the right person,” Naomi confirms in the prefight presser. “We selected Margot because she ranked above me in the Bantam Rankings. I need to climb that ladder gain and this where we are going to start.”

“What I am here to do is get back to winning,” says Margot. “I have lost three fights. People tell me losing to Ratajkowski, Olsen and Kosarin is no shame, but three losses in a row are three losses. I am a much better fighter than that. So I intend to stop the skid with Naomi Scott.”

So both fighters had a lot riding on this fight as they entered the ring on Fight Night. Margot I a brown off the shoulder one piece with golden gloves and boots. Hair up back in an elegant braid. Naomi in a bright yellow bikini with black gloves and boots (yellow laces). Hair wetted down.

The ring instructions are covered quickly. Naomi and Margot tap gloves and then go to their corners. Tense pause and then the bell rings….

R1: Margot and Naomi move forward to the middle of the ring They start punching and Mrgot sbl to lnd successive blows to Naomi’s jaw. Then Margot strikes at Naomi to the midsection. Then back to the jaw and she adds blows to the sides of Naomi’s head. Naomi now pulling away from Margot who continues to punching a steady head/body/head/body beat. Naomi getting off a few counters but Margot is racking up the points on her way to winning the round wide.

R2: Margot was back at it, advancing smartly to start punching away at Naomi with quick changing head and body shots. Naomi trailing behind as Margot then starts circling and pumping in more leather whenever she can spot an opening, Naomi trying to counterattack, but gets stopped by Margot striking at either her chin or her midsection each time. Margot looking very dominate as she score another wie won round.

R3: Naomi out of her corner much faster this time and she comes crowding in on Margot Naomi forcing Margot to fight to the body in close. Margot adjusting to the change, starts to come back strong, but then Naomi staggers her with a sudden right uppercut to the chin. Margot knocked back on her heels. She manages to pull herself together behind her jab as Naomi hammers away to the bell. Round is a close one, but it is Naomi Scott who pulls it out.

R4: Margot now the one quicker from her corner and she lands a head swiveling right to Naomi’s jaw to stun her at the outset. As Naomi is recoiling from the blow, Margot follows up with more punches to the jaw, chin and side of the head. Naomi gets her gloves up to cover her head. Margot then goes to work to the bod. Brisk steady pounding of Naomi’s torso keeps Naomi’s counters limited as she is soon all hunhd up and just trying to get to the end of the round. The bell finally sounds and Margot Robbie adds another round to her side of the judges’ cards.

R5: Naomi Scott strikes back as the new round gets going. She goes after Margot to the belly with deep, digging hooks that seem to knock the wind out her. Then as Margot is falling back, gasping for air, Naomi goes after Margot to the chin and jaw. Successive right/left combos leave Margot dazed and covering up as the surging Naomi now swab her side ribs with punch after pounding punch. Margot being pummeled around badly this round, though she is able to steer clear of the ropes or her beating ight have been worse. Naomi Scott wins round wide.

R6: Margot and Naomi shoot from their corners. Margot ducks a sweeping right to the head and nails a hook into Naomi’s gut As Naomi jackknife’s forward, Margot brings a cracking right hand into Naomi’s jaw AND NAOMI SPILLS FORWARD ONTO THE CANVAS! Margot trots off to the neutral corner as referee counts over Naomi who seems shocked to find herself down. Naomi then pulls herself together and rises to beat the count at “EIGHT!” Naomi looking very annoyed as she watches referee wave Marfot back in. As Margot heads for her, Naomi goes out to meet her and this sets up a furious exchange of head and chin shots. Both fighters getting socked, but it is Naomi who lands hers just right. Margot is caught flush to the chin and then blasted to the jaw. DOWN GOES MARGOT! Margot lands on her side and lays there gasping. Naomi hurrying to the neutral corner. Referee is counting, fans watch anxiously as Margot struggles to rise AND SGHE BREAKS THE COUNT AT “NINE!” Referee allows fight to resume. Naomi hurries in. Margot trying to protect her head, gets body punched into the ropes and then tries to slide away. Naomi not about to let Margot escape, She frenziedly hammers her way through Margot’s high guard and starts pounding her head. Margot looks helpless, but still standing—AND THE REF STOPS IT! Official bundles Marrgot Robbie to safety. Naomi wearily, but triumphantly raises both arms in victory.

THE WINNER: NAOMI SCOTT DEFEATS MARGOT ROBBIE TKO6!

After: “It was a close-run thing out there,” Naomi admits in the post-fight. “Margot had me in trouble a couple of times and then I get knocked down in the 6th. That made me mad. I was NOT going to lose my Foxfire debut fight. I got up and knocked HER down. Then SHE gets up and I was not going to let her get another round. I just gae it all I had and the ref did his duty. I tell you, I really WORKED for this win and it feels really good that I got it.”

Margot Robbie’s belated comment is: “l had my chances and it didn’t go my way. I refuse to obsess over it, Sure, I am disappointed, but I will go on and I just have to break the streak next time.”

Fair comment for Naomi Scott to call this a “close-run thing”. Just a little more in that Margot Robbie’s R6 knockdown punch and Naomi might not been able to beat the count. Margot looked very dominating at other times too, but Nomi was able to hang on and finally get a badly needed win. Fight showed Naomi will have a lot to work on as she tries to reclimb the slippery Bantam Rankings ladder, but at least now she has a victorious beginning. Margot Robbie came close, but not close enough, to breaking her losing streak which now goes to four. Yet there is definite hope in this latest setback that she can fight her way back on track.
