Jennifer: 51 YO, 5’8 (1.73 m), 96-43-1, 67 KO since 2002 Foxfire Boxing

Laura: 49 YO, 5’6 ½ (1.69 M), FCBA Record: 0-34-0 since 2011

Before: ‘One of the reasons I got into Jaguar Boxing was the chance to fight opponents I had missed earlier in my career. Now Laura has had her problems in the FCBA, but she was h Italian Lightweight Champion. I really want to see how well I can do against her,” Jennifer Garner says cheerfully flashing her dimples.

Laura Pausini is upbeat and determined. “I don’t dwell on the past. I prefer to focus on my next fight, I see this fight as a chance to pull off a major upset. There are a lot of people who doubt e, but I am not one of them. I will be out there fighting hard, trying for the win!”

On Fight Night Laura Pausini is wearing a midnight blue one piece with royal blue gloves and boots. Her hair is pulled back in a battle braid. Jen Garner is in a black halter top one piece with white gloves and boots (black laces) her hair is in a ponytail. The ring instructions are smoothly conducted. Gloves are tapped ad the fighters go to their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Jen moving confidently towards are wary Laura. Laura putting up a screen of defensive jabs as Jen circles, studying her opponent. Then, suddenly, Jennifer moves in a strikes Laura hard to the chin and follows with quick right/left to opposite sides of the jaw. Laura seems stunned and retreats to regroup, but Jen is hanging close, now pumping hooks in against Laura impressive rack, then down to her ribs and finally her abs. Laura hunching up under these body punches, Trying to use her jab to disrupt Jen’s repeated advances but Jen seems to be ignoring them as she keeps up the pressure to the bell.

R2: Jen comes right back at Laura, but Laura is not just standing there. She rushes forward and fires straight shots into Jens face, then clips her to the chin and ends the flurry solid banging punches to the sides of Jen’s head. Jen finds herself on the defensive as Laura now goes after her to the body, However, Jen is able to finally unload smashing right to Laura’s jaw and sends her staggering off to one side. Jen now swoops in but Laura pulls herself together and there isc a heavy exchange f body punches at close range Jen trying to push Laura back, but then Laura able to swat Jen hard on the chin and jaw. Jen’s counterattack runs out of steam as Laura pounds Garner ribs and belly. Jen punching back to Laura’s body late, but Laura Pausini has done enough to win a narrow victory on the judges’ cards.

R3: Jen pounding her its together as she jumps off her stool to start the new round, but Laura Pausini comes charging at her with surprising speed. Laura then feints a hook to Jennifer’s midsection, but brings the right hand HARD into Jennifer’s jaw. Jennifer’s head whips around and her legs are shuddering as she staggers away. Laura eagerly attacking, punching Jen in the flank, clearly trying to punch her sideway into the ropes. Jen trying to fight Laura off with counter punches to those big breasts. Laura only momentarily slowed by this jugg mugging, she now bashes Jen hard to the head and Jen stumbles against ropes. Jen forced to huddle the, right side against the strands while her left side becomes a punching bag for Laura Pausini. Bell sounds ending Jennifer Garner’s ordeal as she stiffly leaves the ropes and walks slowly back to her corner. Laura has won the round wide.

R4: Jennifer is worked on by the Foxfire corner crew during the break and their efforts get Jen out promptly at the bell. Laura on the attack, but Jen is better at blocking or evading the head shots. Then Laura attacks Jennifer to the rib cage and abs. Jennifer takes up the challenge and the round now becomes a grinding battle of body punching attrition. Whacking, digging, driving punches are bending both fighter s forward. Then Jen able to brace her legs, get more into her punching and she forces Laura back. Jen a surprise one-two to Laura’s jaw to close out the round and win a narrow victory.

R5: Laura right back at Jennifer to the body as the new round commences. Jen and Laura usig o hooks to drive punch after punch into quivering torsos. They are matching each other punch for punch and it looks like it could be a close round, but then Jennifer suddenly rips an uppercut in behind Laura’s mitts to cracks into her chin. Laura’s knees shudder and she sags forwards. Jen adds two more uppercuts to finish the job. Laura CRASHES to the canvas as Jennifer steps backn and then crisply turns to head for the neutral corner. Official counts. Laura struggling valiantly to rise, but she push herself into a sitting position before the referee calls out:

“NINE!...TEN!...YOUARE OUT!”

JENNIFER GARNER DEFEATS LAURA PAUSINI KO!

After: “She is tough!” Jen Garner insists. “I am almost glad I didn’t meet her in her prime. I don’t know about all those other FCBA fights, but it took someone as durable as me to hang in there against her get the win.”

“IT’s nice of her to say that about me,” says Laura Pausini with quiet dignity. “I fought hard. I stood up to her, but it was not enough tonight. I will not give up. I can promise the fans that much!”
Not at all a surprising result, but Laura Pausini was no cupcake. Even at Jaguar status she showed she had a punch that could rock eve the likes of Hall of Famer Jennifer Garner. Laura’s had a very frustrating FCBA career, but she has a lot of fans and they will no doubt continue their loyal support. Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner has bounced back from the loss of her Jaguar title and her fans look forward to seeing who she takes on next
