Natalie Alyn Lind vs. Peyton Roi List
(Hawkeye International vs Independent) Natalie: 23 yo, 5’5”, 27-17-0 with 27 KOs; vs Peyton: 25 yo, 5’6”, 15-11-0 with 15 KOs Results: Lookout. Story: Hawkeye
BEFORE: Things seem to be falling into place for Natalie after her trade to the Consortium. The HISC switch with Foxfire for Naomi Scott and the immediate placement of resources into Big Choppy’s new bantam wingwoman have Nat’s confidence at an all-time high. Blasting Naomi before the official exchange, then her knocking out dangerous comp in the form of Shay Mitchell and Samara Weaving have raised the excitement level inside the cracker house. They’ve anxious to feel they’ve made the right decision. With negotiations coming to fruition against a newly released opponent, this match seems ready-made to continue Natalie’s upswing. Using their PR department to its fullest, HISC has swung a feature in BLONDE! Magazine with publication pending a potential victory.
“I feel bad for Peyton. I’ve always respected her and, until recently, her trajectory with Front Street seemed first class. It all goes to show your career can spin on a dime. Thank God that happened for me. Foxfire treated me well, but they made it clear by shopping me they saw greener pastures that didn’t include me. Now I’m with someone who desperately wanted me and just as desperately wants me to do well. There’s no telling where that’s going to take me, but I’m willing to bet there’s gold involved.”
Natalie’s throwing down in the Consortium colors tonight, the busty blonde bantam in a black bikini top with yellow-gold trim. Below are boy-cut spandex trunks in the same goldenrod color with reverse back piping. Gloves, pads and boots are flat black. Long honey-colored locks are swept into a battle ponytail.
There’s no sugarcoating Peyton’s situation. After receiving the Front Street scheduling magic and posting an impressive 12-2 record over 2021 and 2022, the bloom came off the rose in record time when she upped her opposition. Beatdowns at the hands of Selena Gomez and Brie Larson were all it took for the Cobra Kai blonde to be kicked from the Street to the curb. The ousting to independence was especially crushing when her former employer compared the level of difficulty in deciding to release her to what style of potato to eat for lunch.
“Did I have a bad couple matches? Yeah. No one feels worse about that than me. Did I feel like I earned some slack in the rope with two prior years of sterling success? Hell yeah. You can’t tell me they weren’t itching to get that bimbo they replaced me with on their roster and a couple losses were all the cover they needed. I was the victim in that numbers game. So now I’m starting over. On my own. And Natalie is a great way to announce my availability. I’m going to take her rack, put her on her back, then start fielding offers.”
Peyton’s in an eye-catching pink bikini ensemble, showing off the goods to catch some nibbles on the free agent front. Gloves, pads, boots all pink as well, seemingly trying to make good on Barbie pub, even if it isn’t HER upcoming movie. After all, who doesn’t want a Barbie girl? Blonde locks are fashioned in a flowing pony like her foe’s.
R1: The former Front Streeter looks the part of a woman trying to prove she’s been done wrong. Peyton’s feisty and on the front foot, forcing Lind to adjust to her. Natalie’s aggressive tendencies have been magnified since being placed under Mishy’s tutelage, but she’s playing defense from the start here. List is flashing the leather in the form of left jabs to Nat’s abundant rack with an occasional right to keep the HISC newcomer honest. It’s a feeling out process but Peyton’s doing most of the feeling, keeping busy touching up her curvier counterpart. Natalie seems a bit confused in mounting a counter, but she’s solid in deflecting a healthy percentage of Peyton’s efforts. The doe-eyed List is crisp but safe and she’s picking up points. Late, Natalie gets into the swing, anticipating another left jab and swinging a right over that turns the head of the newly independent pugilist. Peyton shakes it off with an exaggerated blink, stuffing a sturdy left to Nat’s jugg to keep her foe at bay and push a close first round win into her column.
R2: Feeling more confident, and with the threat of impending employment doom off her shoulders, List is ready to roll for the second. She meets Lind barely out of the Consortium corner and turns up the heat on the cracker giant’s new acquisition. It’s an energetic display from Peyton. She’s taking rack, getting Nat’s gurls jumping with straight lefts and right uppercuts, Lind grunting through the assault on her bread-and-butter. But as Peyton’s getting comfortable, Natalie sweeps in a looping left that clatters off Peyton’s right temple and she’s shook. List hops in the opposite direction from the impact and Lind’s on the prowl. Natalie bullies Peyton into the ropes with some chugging combos to her foe’s torso then, when escape options are limited, Lind unleashes, buffeting Peyton with loftier targets. Nat presses leather to nose and chin on multiple occasions, breaking through the cage of List’s forearms then going around them to plug blows under Peyton’s ears. List returns fire, going to her favorite recipients, Lind’s bosom, amidst the Natalie’s furious flurry. She slows the curvy bantam, keeping things from getting out of hand. But by the time the bell tolls it’s a wide second for Natalie, a pleased Mishy nodding as she locks eyes with a returning Nat.
R3: The fighters meet in the middle, both having a taste of success and hungry for more. Adrenaline flowing, the young blonde bantam bombers are ready for showtime. Natalie’s chugging body shots to List force some breathy grunts from the cast-off early. She’s absorbing like a trooper, but her frame is starting to sag from the accumulation. Peyton pushes Natalie off and changes course, circling clockwise, forcing Lind to throw from more distance. It’s a move an unmanaged fighter might not consider, but Peyton’s been paying attention while she had the weight of Front Street behind her. Natalie’s bull charges are coming up empty. On one, Peyton pivots past a sweeping left and BURIES an overhand right into Natalie’s left cheek. Lind stumbles into the ropes and the hunter becomes the hunted. List keeps out of desperate grasps and finds the range with both hands, pounding rocking results to jaw and jugg. Suddenly, there’s no hiding and Nat’s defenses are failing. Peyton’s frustrations are boiling into a violent cocktail that’s thrown in Natalie’s face. Lind’s trying to grab Peyton to slow her down, but she only opens herself up for more abuse and Peyton’s happy to provide it. Mishy screams at Natalie to cover, but the words aren’t registering with the windblown Lind. Natalie’s seemingly ready to topple when the bell ends the onslaught, the Consortium corner happy the round ends with Peyton wide on points but not something more.
R4: The corner crew does a good job on Nat over the break. She emerges at the opening bell looking much better than when surviving the close of the previous round. Peyton’s ready to push. She keeps on her bicycle from the outset of this stanza. Peyton’s footwork isn’t flashy, but she’s skilled at popping in and out of range of her curvier counterpart. List lashes Natalie with combos to her foe’s torso, waiting for Lind to let her defenses dip in response. Instead of dutifully trailing the circling List, Natalie uses angles and tracks Peyton better because of it. Nat’s finding her way inside List’s kitchen. She gets big on her fellow bantam when she can, pounding midriff and taking rack. Peyton tries to headhunt when Lind’s takes more of a beeline, but Natalie’s ducking under, then bodying up. A slugger, Natalie’s eating Peyton up on the inside the longer the round rolls. She’s tenderizing List liver and kidneys and snaps in a right uppercut when a breathy Peyton sets her D lower to slow the gut-shot. List slides her way out of the deep end a couple times when it seems she might be ready to sink and catches Nat flush to the chin more than once during her measured retreats when Lind follows too casually. The connections throughout are close to even on numbers between the two young blondes, but Nat’s got the body-draining quality to add to her quantity and it provides her a close pick-up for the fourth.
R5: Each woman is out eagerly and following the same script. Natalie steps to her doe-eyed rival, loading and throwing a heavy right cross to a backtracking Peyton when List strides inside Lind’s leather and BLASTS NATALIE with a left hook that has LIND STEPPING INTO FENCEPOST-HOLE CITY. The crowd is up on that vicious impact and roaring when Peyton follows with a straight right that forces a derelict Natalie to grab hold of List to stay upright. Peyton tries to shrug Nat off to continue paving the road to Lind’s ruin. With the ref’s help, she’s freed to throw another right to bring Nat to her knees…WHAM…Natalie’s ready out of the break and beats List to her target with a thunderous hook that LEAVES PEYTON DUMBSTRUCK. List remains upright, but only for the time it takes for Natalie to crash a combo to either side of Peyton’s jaw and LIST TIMBERS BOARD STRAIGHT TO HER BACK.
As a huffing Lind hustles to a neutral corner, the starfished List stares blankly to the rafters and the ref’s face between. As quick an elevator ride to the canvas Peyton took, Peyton surprises with an effort to rise at FIVE. She props to a seated position on her palms but blinks away the rest of the count, not close when the official reaches TEN and waves List off for the NATALIE ALYN LIND KO5 VICTORY.
AFTER: Well that turned on a dime, Natalie using her pop to turn danger into opportunity and vehement victory. Lind’s in no condition to jump for joy so an entering Mishy does it for her, surrounding Natalie with an embrace, Lind continuing to take to the Consortium like a duck to water. After the victor’s gloves are removed, Michelle sends Natalie on her way to collect the loser tax after Peyton’s helped to her corner.
There’s no Front Street phalanx to push through to get at the demolished blonde and this is setting up as an opportunity to bring out the Director’s Cut of Swan Lake to cover the length of the humiliating post-match to come. Natalie scoops a slumped, flaccid Peyton off her stool and draws her into a bearhug. But it’s not of the tight, breathtaking variety. Natalie whispers in Peyton’s left ear and List nods earnestly. Is this trolling by the HISC newbie? Apparently not. Natalie releases her grip and the duo continue to conversate cordially a step removed from each other. Lind gives her foe a soft, open hand tap on the cheek and heads back to home territory.
Later, on press row, Natalie explains her actions.
That girl is tough as nails. Mentally and physically. To come into this fight after being jettisoned by one of the top organizations in the FCBA and nearly have me taking a canvas nap? It’s impressive. I’m the new girl here so I’m not in a position to give the suits who just hired me any advice, but if I was, put her signature on the dotted line. Time to buy low on young tested talent like this because you’ll be selling high in no time. |
