Saaya Irie vs Michelle Keegan.

Round 1

It's a confident start from Saaya, who shows good agility, her sharp little jabs clipping Michelle's face. Fresh from a pregnancy, she shows great vigor and promise coming back to the ring after a sparse 2022. But Michelle, who has been fighting many matches in the past years and has a 5-inch advantage on the smaller woman, throws her back and takes the round by a wide margin.

Round 2

Michelle comes out quickly in the second, but Saaya's skipping away from her as quickly as she can, making sure the Brit can't get close enough to rough her up. Her lack of reach tells against her, though, and Saaya eventually has to get close, taking a few punches just to get at any part of Keegan. The round goes to Irie by a small margin.

Round 3

Michelle looks determined to inflict some pain in round 3, and she soon has the young mother dropping back, but lands no shots. Keegan works her into the ropes, looking to take her down with a decisive blow, but eats one to the chin and goes down as Saaya bounces out of the corner.

She is up at six, however, and continues slugging it out with Irie, losing the round to her by a thin margin. This could be a premonition - Keegan has not had the best record over the past couple of years, and this could be the same.

Round 4

Already clenching her face in pain, Michelle does not welcome the opening bell, and she soon feels all the power packed into that small frame as Irie pounds into her ribcage. In trouble, she backs away, out of the smaller woman’s range, which works for her. At a distance where she can punch without taking any, Michelle takes round four by a small margin.

Round 5

Knowing her own peril if Michelle is allowed to keep dancing around, Irie attempts to close in. But Michelle is ready - that is the whole point of staying out of range, and slams one, two, three hard shots to twist her head around, dazing the tiny woman. Michelle nods, leisurely and almost lazily drawing back her arm, then cracks a powerful uppercut into Saaya's chin, and it's goodnight to the young Japanese.

Winner: Michelle Keegan via KO5!
