BEFORE: Former Coronation Street stalwart Michelle Keegan was always a popular choice for the Independence Day PPV and she follows through on some media comments calling her a "poor man's Ashley Tisdale" by going after the American actress in question to prove a certain point. Meanwhile Tisdale's heyday belongs to the past and is unlikely to return; her last winning FCBA season dates back to 2012 but the New Jersey native is convinced she can still knock some of her peers out and has very little respect for the British opponent: "Twitter says I'm the better version so that has to be true! I'm gonna whack the plastic cow all the way back to England where she belongs!"
Ashley Tisdale wears a black crop top, micro jeans shorts & blue gloves. Long dark blonde hair tied in a custom ponytail. Michelle Keegan wears a blue crop top, micro jeans shorts & silver gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Vintage flyweight bash from the opening bell as both women really take it personal here and it's Michelle who draws first blood (if not literally) by tackling the blonde's body and moving up for a fine uppercut follow through. She tags the American on the jaw and wobbles her off onto her heels which indicates punching resistance remains Tisdale's critical problem. More shots crash into her face in due order as Keegan lets it rip and there's a better chance she sends Ashley back to New Jersey first before a desperate heave thumps the British tourist on the nose and halts her charge. Ashley regains her balance before she ends up trapped on the ropes and mounts a promising recovery blasting the brunette from both flanks but the action remains glued to the center of the ring and it's all free swinging that makes both women lose their steam in the closing seconds. The bell sounds and the crowd wants more of this!
Round 2:
Ashley cranks up the jabbing pace to find out if she can blow the buxom Brit right away here but she needs to be careful as the back & forth exchange carries a great risk of getting caught out after all. However the New Jersey actress has nothing to lose according to most experts so she's ready to put on a show and she knocks several clean hits into the brunette's face which allows her to assume the dominant position during majority of the round. She wants to knock Michelle's head off and while her plan is *slightly* predictable there's no room for cool head analyze until Beevers coach Denise Lewis has the time to tell the Stockport native what is going on. Michelle glues her mitts into the blonde's face and the free swinging continues until the bell with both hellcats ready to claim the round on points.
Round 3:
More hammer & tongs on display but Michelle gets the body-busting shots going and freezes the older actress to the spot. Ashley needs some time to shake off the hits but she still gets folded into spasms before that and it's only a wild mishit from Keegan that allows her to escape from the phone booth trap and reload her challenge. Michelle reaches out after her and tries to pound her back to the ropes but swings just outside of the zone and gets caught by a vicious counter-punching response that nails her on both temples and wobbles into a rare uppercut blast on the chest. Ugh! Ashley does everything she can to maul the brunette into all more trouble and that includes a page from the JMD manual - Michelle has takes her share of hits on the double-D area but timing is king and Tisdale pummels her onto the turnbucle with room to spare and signs off a dominant spell with a wild harpoon on the navel that slumps Keegan into loud spasms at the bell.
Round 4:
Tisdale wants to finish the British rival right here and right now... but she falls into another vintage slugging trap as Michelle is far from being wounded by the blonde's early efforts. She sticks her mitts into Ashley's face before resuming the gut-checking drive and she hacks a quick double around the liver area to sink the older actress into noticeable spasms to halt her challenge. However Tisdale refuses to back off and reaches out for a head-hunting effort only to slice thin air and turn into a hard right on the solar plexus instead. Uh-oh!!! That one has to hurt... and there comes another drilling shot between the cups that makes the blonde cry out in pain. She gets twisted on the spot and fails to register another brutal hook that SLAMS her on the nose and sends tumbling down on the canvas moments later!!! Bingo! "Take that and smoke some!" - Denise Lewis shouts from the Beevers' corner and Michelle joins on the smiles as she has laid the American actress completely out here. No way back for the former Disney princess. KO4 Michelle Keegan!!!
AFTER: Impressive finish from the Coronation Street's favorite barmaid and she celebrates by giving the still rattled Ashley a lenghty walk of shame around the area before forcing her down on her knees - and the defeated blonde has to crawl out of ring amid some loud cheers from the audience. Ouch. That one will hurt her ego more than anything else. Meanwhile Michelle can focus on the next opponent as she confirms she picked up the Sophia Bush challenge for the Fight Night Live event so it's gonna be a busy few weeks for the buxom UK brunette just on this side of the Atlantic. Given Michelle's fan favorite status that's not exactly a bad thing whatsoever!
