ROSAMUND PIKE VS CRISTY REN

Rosamund: 44 YO, 5’9 (1.75 m) FCBA: 1-7-0 since 2013, Foxfire Atlantic Boxing

Christy: 26 YO, 5’8 (1.73 m), FCBA Debut, Front Street Gym

Before: “I admit I haven’t had a fight since 2018, but in my head I really wasn’t ready for retirement,” says Rosamund Pike in the pre-fight. “So when I got word that The Wiz wanted me for his new fighter. I understand Ms. Ren is from Russia and much younger than myself. I hoping that my experience will give me an edge”

Christy Ren smiles charmingly. As a media personality in her native Russia, she is very used to dealing with the press. “I am very excited to be here at Front Street and the FCBA. I get to make debut against such a well-known name as Rosamund. I will certainly do make my debut everything my new management hoped for.”

The pleasantness of the press event becomes more serious as the two meet in the ring. Rosamund Pike is a white one piece swimsuit with black gloves and boots with white laces. Her hair is pulled back in a battle braid. Christy Red wears a black one piece with white gloves and boots (black laces). She wears her hair pulled back in a battle braid. Both fighters looking focused as the ring instructions are covered. They tap gloves and go to their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Rosamund very aggressive towards the newcomer, firing shots into Christy’s face make her flinch and then giving her hard hooks to the body. Christy wanting to counter but as she attempts to come forward she runs into solid punching from Rosamund. Rosamund then moves forward, pushing Christy back towards he ropes, though she isn’t quite able to trap her on the ropes before the bell. Christy looking roughed up as she goes to her corner and Rosamund Pike wins the round wide.

R2: Rosamund back on the attack as the new round opens, but as she moves in mixing head shots with body hooks, Christy Ren is fighting back. Christy shaking up Rosamund’s with a sdries of sharp jabs to the face and side of the head. Rosamund still pressing forward, but Christy digging in, pumping her own hooks into Rosamund’s belly and ribs. Rosamund punching back harder to Christy’s body and she does make the newcomer l back a new steps. A couple of fast shots to chin also shake Christy up, though she seems to seems to recover quickly and resumes her counters. Rosamund pushing Christy back still further at the bell, but it is hard battle and she wins this round by a much closer margin

R3: Now both fighters are quick off their stools ad Christy lands the first blow, a right cross off Rosamund’s jaw and a left that clips the Brit’s chin. Rosamund fights back with right/lefts to the head of Christy, Now the two are standing toe to to toe an pouring in the leather. Mainly it is going to the body frolm the breasts to the midriff and back again. A few shots to the chin, jaw and sides of the head are mixed in, but this is mainly hard, grinding action to the torso. It is quite exciting to watch the crowd is cheering both on as they fight it out in the trenches while the minutes tick away. Bell finally sounds the two step back, bodies ringing, sweat dripping, but determined looks in their eyes. No one is surprised when this one goes down as a DRAW.

R4: Again, both fighters are quick off their stools and head for each other at midring. Christy lands a big right uppercut to Rosamund’s chin and the veteran wobbles back. Christ surges forward now battering away at Rosamund to the head. Rosamund forced to cover up and fall back, Christy in pursuit then is charged by Rosemund. Christy hit hard in the chin and jaw, then gets a swift series of hooks to her ribcage . Christy hunching up finds Rosamund’s chin with a sneaky uppercut. Rosamund shuddering from this blow, covers up and falls back. Christy advancing with a body attack now and Rosamund begins to counter with body shots of her own. This time Christy is getting enough on her body hooks to force Rosamund to give ground and this allows her win her first round in the FCBA, though it’s by a narrow margin.

R5: Rosamund trying to regain control of the bout as she comes at Christy with a series of hard shots to the side of the head. Christy hanging in there and gives Rosamund a dose of head shots. Rosamund knocked back on her heels, but comes back to the body trying to double Christy up with hooks to the belly. Christy being tipped forward, but giving Rosamund strong body counters and suddenly Rosamund seems to falter under the pressure. In the moment, Christy unloads a RIPPING right uppercut into Rosamund’s chin, snapping her head back and then a follow left uppercut SMASHES home to the chin. TIMBER! Rosamund goes crashing down on her back, bounces and lays there stunned. Christy Ren trots off to the neutral corner as the referee starts counting. Rosamund groggily pushing herself up on her elbows and looking around in confusion. Then she realizes she is being counted out and tries to rise, but she falls back, unable to get her leg under control.

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!” The referee cries!

THE WINNER CRISTY REN DEFEATS ROSAMUND PIKE KO5!

After: “I did it! I really did it! I won my first FCBA fight! Oh, it feels so good to have tht behind me!” declares an overjoyed Christy Ren as she is congratulated by her Front Street teammates.

“I am very disappointed at losing,” Rosamund Pike sighed when she met the press, but tshe brightens: :”I did have my moments and I think I might do well in Cougar action. That might be my way to go in the future.”

Good, if unsurprising win for newcomer Christy Ren should have been able to defeat the much older, rusty veteran Rosamund Pike and she did. Her real test in the FCBA will be when she can take on more challenging opponents and we expect Front Street will carefully guide her path upward. Rosamund did show some fight power, but her long absence from the ring left a lot f rust. Certainly some of this rust was knocked off in this fight, but ho much remains is a question. The answer depends if she will move into the Cougar division or just decide to hang’em up once for all.
