Intro:
For the first time in their boxing careers Dua Lipa and Emily DiDonato share a ring. The "Goshen Goddess" Emily looks to continue her very impressive run as the head of the lightweight division. Dua looks to fulfil her potential and claim her first ever title.

There's a few other strands to this fight. One of them is Dua has been busy piling her trade in the BBU since her last FCBA. Which was a loss to Lily James for the lightweight title. That is something the media have brought up in the build up. Can Dua rewrite her 2023 by winning in the big bout? The answers been mixed.

In the build up there was a few women both know gave their thoughts. Dua's stablemate Kendall Jenner took time out from her World Tour with Alexis Ren to say on her social media "I want the world to hear this. Dua you got this. Get in that ring and show Emily that she has had good reason to hide from you. This is your moment."

While Emily's rival and stablemate Taylor Swift was asked about the bout while she was going into the stables gym. Taylor rolled her eyes as she answered "look I don't care for either of them, especially that snake Emily. The fact is Dua ain't going to be good enough to beat her, that's because it will be me who dethrones that bytch when my stable let's me have a shot at her again." Marching into the gym looking like she is going to be in a bad mood all that day.

Both the combatants were asked for comments at a sit down meeting at the hotel they were both staying at. Dua walked into the room wearing a white dress with a rose pattern running around it. Emily came in wearing a violet dress with the world title on her right shoulder. Both share a hand shake with a tense expression on their faces.

After sitting down, Dua is asked if she has any words for the champion. Dua responds by telling Emily "I want to start off by saying I respect you. These past few months you have been a true fighting champion and I am honoured you felt I have earned a shot at that belt." Pointing at the title.

Dua then changed tact as she adds "but I have worked hard for one thing. That belt will prove it will have been worth it. You are going to get the best version of me on the beach and will take home the title." With Emily grinning in reply.

Emily puts the title on the table facing Dua. She tells the challenger "see this Dua, this proves I am the best in that ring. You're sweet and all but once that bell rings I will show you why that belt has been in arm's reach. Yet it has been snatched away from you because to be frank, you aren't good enough to be at this level." Dua just stares hard at the champion.

Grabbing the belt off the table. Emily then tells Dua "oh and give Kendall a message that once she is done playing around with Alexis. I am waiting to smash her face in and stand over that overrated bytch." Dua stands up looking annoyed, all her kind words basically thrown back in her face as Emily struts off holding the title up with her right arm in the air.

Fighting time on Dubai's Jumeirah Beach, the ring posts have been set into the sand itself. There is a VIP crowd in attendance on deck chairs. The judges table is near by to get a good view of the action.

First to walk to the ring is Dua with her coach Taryn Terrell. Dua is wearing a black bikini with matching gloves, hair tied into a ponytail as she nods to Taryn that she is ready for this. Tapping her cheeks as she stands in her corner. Gripping the sand in her toes as she is psyching herself up.

Emily walks to the ring with her coach Ana Beatriz Barros. Emily has the title around her waist. Standing just outside the ring in a red bikini with violet gloves, hair in a ponytail too. Ana removes the title for her as Emily raises her arms in the air while staring directly at her opponent. Getting into the ring, Emily paces in her corner back and forth looking keen to get started.

Both women are waved to the center of the ring. The world title on show between them. Both glance at it before locking eyes. This means the world to them, leaving with the world title and proving they are the best. Dua nods at her opponent as they touch gloves, Emily just grins as clearly she sees that as a weakness for her foe. They walk back to their corners, with both now ready the bell rings to start 10 rounds of FCBA lightweight champion.

Round 1:
"Ding!" Off they go with a loud roar from the crowd. Both start off with plenty of head movement and jabs being thrown. When they move in closer there's a quick fire exchange between them, cheeks being hit with short cross punches before they step back out to range. Certainly plenty of respect being shown in this early part of the round.

Dua crouches under a sweeping left hook, coming over the top with a right that smacks across the cheek of Emily to twist her head around. Emily finding herself knocked to her heels by a follow up double jab into her face. Leading to the singer keeping Emily around the perimeter of the ring as they exchange.

It looks like Dua is the more comfortable at this moment. Moving her upper body more to dodge and land stinging counters. Emily guarding more as she stares hard through her gloves at the challenger. Soon enough the opening round ends with Dua showing what she can do right away. Emily told by Ana to keep her head as she looks a little annoyed already.

Round 2:
Dua comes out her corner looking relaxed as she jabs and moves, showing that she is comfortable on the beach like her opponent. Emily needing to change things up a little, she lands a few jabs square into the chest of Dua to throw her off her game. With Dua gritting her mouthpiece when she is hit clean on a breast.

Missing with a left cross; Dua takes a pounding right counter on her jaw. Emily now showing her aggressive side to step in with a left cross, followed by a right near the ear of her opponent. Dua forced back towards the ropes, needing to push at Emily's chest to start her crowding her against the ropes.

Emily is keeping Dua aimed towards those ropes as the challenger has to move side to side not to get pinned down. Emily is the one now landing the better volume of punches. Dua not wanting to be caught by a big hook this early, so is keeping her gloves high, Emily showing her high level experience to see this and switches to the body. The round comes to a close with Emily tapping her gloves together before walking back to her corner. Dua nods to her coach knowing she can't let Emily power her backwards.

Round 3:
The "Goshen Goddess" is looking to pile the pressure on right away, landing some sweeping hooks on the inside to make Dua retreat back to range. Dua landing a double jab back into the forehead of Emily when she gets a chance. The crowd is chanting both fighters names as they watch them fight around the ring.

A missed straight by Emily leaves her open to a short right cross on her temple. Emily backs up as Dua steps in with a jab/straight to her face. Dua starting to put together some crisp combos to outwork her opponent. Making DiDonato cover up more as Ana doesn't look best pleased by her fighter.

While Dua controls most of the second minute of the round. The final minute sees Emily catch her at times with some big hooks out her guard. Dua is landing more quick fire combos between them but has to be careful. The bell rings with both walking back to their corners knowing they are facing someone fighting at the elite level.

Round 4:
Bouncing on her toes more then her opponent, moving side to side is giving Dua time to strike and get out the way of some of the bigger punches coming her way. Doubling up her jab is helping too as Emily looks a little stumped what to do. Ana yelling at her to close the distance and use her strength.

Instead Emily finds herself knocked back after missing a left cross. Taking a three punch straight combination into her face. Dua pinning Emily down now in a neutral corner. Switching her targets to make it hard for the champion as Dua looks to have found her groove. Emily needing to grab hold of Dua to slow her down.

After they are split up; Emily showing her venomous side to catch Dua with a sweeping right hook as they are told to fight on. Dua pressed back to the ropes as a vengeful DiDonato looks to beat her. Dua needs to grab onto her to stop her assault. They are split apart again with a quick fire exchange between them just before the end of the round. Dua looks calm and collected as she sits on her stool. While Emily is told to take a breath and to think about what she is doing. Emily nods to Ana as she looks to have cooled off.

Round 5:
Pushing off their stools to resume; Emily isn't charging in as much, using her jab to get her range right. Both landing stiff single punches as Dua can't really get her rhthym going with Emily's fists landing. They box around the center of the ring.

Emily catches Dua with a jab on her nose, a right cross is then followed up with a left hook. Dua finding herself crowded back into a neutral corner. Emily rifling in punches to the belly button of the singer when she can't land clean shots over the top. Dua needing to hold onto Emily to slow her down.

They are split up with Emily waving Dua to bring it on. Dua coming back at Emily as both stand to trade. Emily looks happy enough to do so as she digs in her fists around the stomach of her foe when she steps in closer. The round ends with Emily looking more relaxed now as she sits on her stool. Dua listening to Taryn as her coach is fired up.

Round 6:
Sweat is coating both fit fighters bodies as they come out to fight. Emily slamming several clean two punch combos through the mitts of Dua. Who lands more to the torso of the model to try to keep her from overrunning her. It looks like though that Emily has found another gear now as she is putting her punches together better.

Dua though shows some bite to duck a straight and go to the stomach of her opponent with several short piston like punches, forcing Emily back near the ropes. Emily gives her a shove back to create space, landing a stiff jab into the forehead of the singer to push her back further as the crowd whistles and cheers them.

Into the final minute of the round. Dua misses with a straight as Emily slips it and lands a right square into the stomach of Dua, who looks a little winded by that shot. A LEFT HOOK THEN LANDS ON LIPA'S EAR AND DOWN SHE GOES TO HER LEFT KNEE!

Emily walks over to the neutral corner looking confident she has got this. 1....2....3... Dua shaking her head to clear some fog from it. 4....5.... While she is also taking a few breaths to catch her breath. 6.....7.....8... Up gets Dua to beat the count. Raising her fists to show she can fight on.

Waved to fight on; Emily looks to land a big shot to end this now, Dua having to dodge and hold when Emily gets into her grill. The bell rings to end the round moments later with Emily walking back to her corner knowing that if she had longer she might have ended it now. Dua stays standing in her corner with her gloves on top of her head. Trying to draw as much air into her body.

Round 7:
Emily looking to keep the heat on Dua from the bell. Dua needing to rely on her footwork to try to keep out of danger. Emily has other ideas as she gives Dua a shove with her left glove to press her to the ropes. The champion landing a left/right cross combo, just missing an uppercut as Dua leans out the way in time and holds onto Emily to slow her down.

They are pushed apart so they can fight on. Dua doubling up her jab to catch Emily when she comes at her. Showing she still has some bite to her punches. Emily digs her punches around the upper torso of Dua to keep her herded around the ropes. Both women letting their hands go as Emily gets in closer.

Dua is frustrating Emily with a clinch. Emily trying to break free but needs the referee to split them up. They resume going toe to toe, their cheeks are marked up as Dua has some swelling around her bottom lip, sweat being sent flying as they exchange. The round comes to an end with both walking back to their corners with sweat dripping off their brows. Dua gets a pep talk from her coach as Dua takes a deep breath, maybe to calm herself or to catch her breath.

Round 8:
Needing to change things up; Dua is stabbing more punches towards the chest of Emily to open her up to follow up punches. Emily hissing through her gumshield, she throws in several cross punches to try to make her opponent give up on that tactic. The crowd chanting for both women as they stand their ground to exchange meaty punches.

Crouching under a left cross; Dua comes over the top with an overhand right to the jaw of Emily to twist her head. Dua follows with a left hook on her chin as Emily starts to be backed up into her own corner. Ana yelling at her to hold as Dua lands several more hooks. Emily grabs hold of her as both women grind impressive bodies together.

Broken apart; they resume with both exchanging flurries, trying to grab control of the round. Heads are being snapped back when punches land flush. Other times they nearly clash heads when they move in to throw a punch. The referee needed to push them apart when they clinch. The round ends with both knowing the home stretch is coming and they look sore to say the least.

Round 9:
Pushing off their stools with chests rising faster. They dig their feet into the sand more when they exchange. Eyes full of fire as they know there is only six minutes at most left, time to make it count as they fire in stiff single punches. Heads getting snapped back and soon Dua's bottom lip is bleeding to make her wince.

Emily looks to come on the attack but gets caught with a left hook on her chin as she loads up her right. An uppercut follows to make her stumble back two steps. Emily looks a little buzzed as her legs aren't moving as freely. Dua coming after her with a vengeance as she strikes through the guard of DiDonato to knock her head backwards.

Less then a minute to go as Emily swings back at Dua. They end up clinching, hot breath in each other ear as they grapple to show whose stronger right now. The referee splits them up with both quick to land when told to fight on. EMILY SWINGS A RIGHT HOOK IN THAT MISSES AS DUA LEANS BACK, AN UPPERCUT LANDS ON EMILY'S CHIN TO ROCK HER HEAD BACK, WITH A RIGHT HOOK ON THE TEMPLE SENDING EMILY CRASHING DOWN ON HER BACK ON THE SAND!

Dua stands hands on hips looking at Emily before she walks to the neutral corner. She shuts her eyes as she leans against the turnbuckles, not wanting to see if Emily gets up, just praying she doesn't. 1...2....3....4... Emily slowly turns to her front as she blinks hard to clear her vision. 5....6.... Reaching out for the ropes. 7....8... Emily is that buzzed that she doesn't realise she is off them and is missing them. 9....10 that's it! Emily DiDonato is counted out!

Winner and New FCBA lightweight champion Dua Lipa KO Round 9

After:
Dua raises her arms into the air with tears of joy running down her cheeks. This has been something she has worked hard these past few years to accomplish. Taryn rushes over to give Dua a warm embrace, telling the winner "you deserve this moment, you earned this with your grit and hard work." Dua thanking Taryn for all her training.

Emily on the other hand needs help by a glum looking Ana to get her onto her stool. Emily looks disbelieving that she lost this fight and her title. She covers her face with her hands after her gloves are taken off, heard sobbing as this defeat will sting for a while. Ana doing her best to console her fighter and friend.

Over comes Dua when she sees Emily in tears. Taryn not looking too pleased with Dua for that as clearly she thinks Emily should suffer for her words before the fight. Instead Dua tells Emily "you are one hell of a fighter. I can't wait for our eventual rematch." She puts out her right fist as Emily looks at her. Wiping a few tears away, Emily accepts the offer of a fist bump with her own to show there's respect between them.

But understandably Emily wants helped out the ring not long later. Knowing that her rival Taylor Swift will be giving her hell come training on Monday. Emily should be very proud of her title reign and you certainly cannot see her not holding a title again before long, she has proven to be one of the true elite fighters since joining the FCBA.

In the ring Dua gets wiped down before she moves to the middle of the ring. Getting her left hand raised in victory as Taryn gets the honour of wrapping the world title around her waist. Red and gold fireworks fill the sky as the sun starts to set. Dua beaming as she sees them to signify that there's a new elite fighter on the top of the division.

Dua thanks all her supporters at home to the camera, then blows kisses to the fans at ringside. She looks in shock still that she was able to pull this victory off. Before she knows it the hard work to go into her first defence will begin. Of course as Dua and Taryn leave the ring, you've gotta think her stable will have a party prepared for her when she returns to England. For now Dua looks at the belt with Taryn joking "it's really love. It isn't some chocolate gold" as Dua chuckles and nods. It might take all weekend to sink in what she accomplished.
